Breaking the Stigma

The internet is awash with speculation that the Princess of Wales may be wearing a wig – but what’s more surprising than the rumours themselves is the stigma that still surrounds the use of wigs and extensions.

As hair professionals, we know that hair tweakments are no different to facial tweakments or teeth whitening: they’re simply tools that help people feel more confident in themselves. Yet despite the progress our industry has made, there’s still a sense that wigs and extensions should be hidden or whispered about, when in fact they should be celebrated as empowering solutions.

Every day in salons across the UK, wigs, extensions, and hairpieces are used for so many reasons. For some, they are protective styling. For others, they provide a vital confidence boost. For many, they help to retain or reclaim a sense of identity during challenging times. We see women turning to them when facing postpartum thinning, the impact of illness, or the hormonal changes of menopause. In these moments, hair solutions aren’t about vanity – they’re about dignity, strength, and feeling like “you” again.

At Remi Cachet, this philosophy sits at the heart of what we do. As the UK’s biggest hair extension brand, we’ve worked hard to make these services accessible, innovative, and stigma-free. With the wide range of attachment methods we offer, there really is something for everyone. Whether your client needs a temporary fix, a semipermanent solution, or something more bespoke, you can confidently tailor the method to their lifestyle, hair type, and comfort level. And with over 60 shades to work with, the results look beautifully seamless and natural – blending into the

client’s own hair so that no one would ever know.

It’s also time to be transparent about what we see in the media. Those thick, glossy ponytails, perfectly sculpted braids, and impossibly voluminous waves that clients admire on celebrities rarely come without help. More often than not, extensions are the unsung hero behind those looks. We know this because we work with hairdressers across the country who create them every day. By being open with clients about this, we can shift perceptions and normalise extensions as the professional, accessible service they are.

Stylists are at the forefront of this change. You are not just applying a product – you’re restoring confidence,

building self-esteem, and helping clients to feel like themselves again. When you provide expert advice, talk openly about options, and create a welcoming environment, you’re breaking down barriers that have held people back from embracing wigs and extensions.

As an industry, we should be championing the benefits. Wigs and extensions aren’t something to be speculated about in tabloids – they are powerful tools that transform not only how someone looks, but how they feel about themselves.

The next time a client brings up “wig rumours,” let’s flip the conversation. Instead of secrecy, let’s celebrate. Instead of stigma, let’s highlight empowerment. www.remicachet.com

A/W 2025

From glossy syrup blondes to rich espresso brunettes, Seung Ki Baek, Creative Colour Expert at RUSH, predicts the must-try hair hues of A/W 2025 – warm, dimensional shades with effortless maintenance and seasonal sophistication.

Syrup Blonde

A syrupy blonde hue that embraces the yellow and orange tones that we have tried to banish for so long – say goodbye to icy, cool, platinum blondes this season! Syrup Blonde is an intensely glossy, rich colour that seamlessly blends yellow and orange hues into a blonde base. This syrupy hue is a mix of warmer copper tones and bright golden tones, with a few low lights blended throughout to add dimension and depth. Syrup blonde requires little to no maintenance between salon visits and less bleaching to achieve a more lived-in feel – which means the hair can grow out more naturally before lightening again in the summer.

Cinnamon Blonde

Cinnamon blonde is the epitome of sophistication, with its multidimensional tones adding depth to any hairstyle. This tawny, beige blonde is perfect for the transition into the cooler months, and the versatility means this subtle shade can work for most colour palettes, with a cool acorn base and subtle vanilla blonde pieces swirled through the hair. Cinnamon blonde can be effortlessly personalised to suit your features and skin tone without being too much of a change. This is the ideal colour for those not wanting to commit to the upkeep of brighter blondes, or if you’re

transitioning for a darker shade and just want to try something new!

Plum Dark Chocolate

Plum dark chocolate will be dominating this season, with the likes of Dua Lipa already rocking this colour! This shade is an infusion of rich chocolate with subtle plum undertones blended throughout, creating a hue that screams cold wintery nights! This versatile shade compliments a variety of skin tones and adds warmth and dimension to the base colour. To enhance the chocolate mauve hue, incorporate balayage highlights for a seamless transition.

Cowboy Cooper

The reign of country music continuing well into the end of 2025, coppers have evolved and hit the mark, working in sync with the trending music throughout. It’s an cocktail of mocha mousse brown

and copper tones which adds a fiery undertone to the lighter base. Cowboy copper will continue to be one of the hottest colours of A/W2025. It’s rooted warmth and inviting feel has seen the likes of Kendall Jenner and Sydney Sweeney transform their overall look with shade.

Espresso Martini Brunette

Super dark yet creamy dark brown tones will also be incredibly popular this autumn/winter. These have more of a cool tone base and are particularly flattering on those with darker skin tones. They have a richer appearance and give the hair a truly mesmerising shine. If you have green or blue eyes, the cool tones of this shade will bring out the colour in your eyes! This versatile shade compliments a variety of skin tones and depth and dimension to the base colour. @officialrushairbeauty

The Power of Collaboration

Fashion photographer Matteo Marino had a striking, beautiful vision, and he shares with us how he brought this to life, the inspiration behind the shoot and his journey to where he is now.

When hair and beauty experts, models and photographic talent come together, the end results have the power to take your breath away.

For proof of the wonders of collaboration in the industry, you only need to look at the stunning collection, captured by gifted fashion

photographer Matteo Marino during a photoshoot for Salon Magazine.

Matteo had a vision - and he successfully brought it to life alongside hairstylist Lyndsay Moroney, fashion stylist Sofia Agnese, make-up artist Marion Aular, and models Kaily and Valeriya.

“Fashion photography isn’t just about taking picturesit’s also about the mood on set and who you work with,” Matteo says.

“Collaboration shows through in the final imagesif it’s missing, the result can be affected.”

Discussing his eye-catching photographs, Matteo shared,

“My inspiration came from contrasts - short hair and long hair, bold colours, dramatic lighting, striking shapes and strong, moody characters. I wanted the images to feel powerful, almost like they were shouting in their own way - a deep, bold and confident look.”

Lyndsay, who helped to deliver this look, describes hair as being “super important” in photography, and she adds, “It’s more than an aesthetic detail – it is truly an expressive medium. We can visually tell stories, reflect inner states and emotions, highlight personal and cultural identity, and make powerful statements about individuality and nonconformity.”

Sharing her inspiration behind the hair in the pictures, Lyndsay noted, “It was taken from a few different concepts. The

first being creative colouring and how important it is to break the mould and rules when colouring hair. The second being effortless hair, allowing texture and the use of razors to give a more DIY feel to the hair.”

Using mainly products from Davines to create the look Lyndsay shared, “The Sea Salt Spray was perfect for creating added texture and a tousled, beachy, full-bodied look with a matte finish.

The Davines Medium Hold Modelling Gel was used for the wet look. This is a fast-drying formula that gives body and elasticity to curls while eliminating frizz. The use of the Davines Pasta & Love Styling Paste provided root lift and gave separation to the hair.”

Matteo says hair plays a “crucial role” in fashion photography and adds, “Working alongside a hairstylist during a shoot is essential – they can adjust and refine the look based on how it appears in the images as we go.”

Marion explained, “The models’ skin was cleansed and hydrated with Bioderma Micellar Water, hyaluronic acid and Avène Thermal Spray before The Ordinary lightweight moisturiser was used. The base was perfected with RCMA foundation and NARS

Radiant Creamy Concealer, Pat McGrath shadows, Maybelline Sky High Mascara, and Mac Lipgloss completed the polished, luminous look.

Delighted with how the photoshoot went, Matteo shared, “I look forward to collaborating with the team again. The prospect of more brilliance from this talented group is beyond exciting.”

Matteo Marino on his everlasting love

Matteo Marino was born to take beautiful, striking pictures.

He developed a love of all things visual at a young age while growing up in Milan - and it is a passion that has only intensified and developed with every passing day.

The 31-year-old, who now lives in West Yorkshire, primarily works as a fashion photographer both in the UK and abroad with an eye for the stylish, along with an ability to bring together all the right talent to deliver photographic excellence.

He recalled, “I started taking pictures when I was little - I used to put makeup on my sister, dress her up and photograph her. One day, I randomly put the words ‘fotografo di moda’ (‘fashion photographer’ in English) into Google - and a whole world opened up before my eyes. I discovered that this was a real thing – a career, a passion, a job.”

Matteo was inspired to teach himself all about photography - and fast forward to today, he is thriving as he continues his successful journey. Matteo added, “There’s so much to learn and achieve that even at 60, I might still feel like I’m just starting.”

When asked what makes him stand out from the crowd, Matteo replied, “My style isn’t taught - it’s born from who I am, from my personality, my story and my unique way of seeing the world. It’s unmistakably me.”

Every detail matters to Matteoand that is abundantly clear from his captivating photography. Matteo says he loves how “a single image can say a thousand words. I’ve never been someone who’s good with words – or enjoys using them. That’s why I adore photography: it allows me to communicate without speaking, to let the silence do the talking. A photograph can express everything I feel and think in a way words never could.”

Picture Perfect

This month we shine a light on Sophie Clarke, @sophiescutenails, as our Rising Star as she discusses the importance of putting a face behind the name on social media, her love for quirky nail art and moving forward in the industry with psoriatic arthritis.

When did you notice your passion for nails?

I noticed my passion for nails at a really early age without even realising – using normal nail varnish, I would change my nails every evening depending on what I’d be wearing the next day. I remember once spending hours, and genuinely I mean hours, attempting a 5-colour ombré – when they were finished, I marvelled at my creation, and looking back, they were horrendous!

How did you find your style, and what are your tips for other nail specialists trying to stand out?

It’s really tough to decipher how I found my style, as some days I feel like I just fell into the style I love now. I’d say my clients have definitely helped with that, as a lot of their requests when I first started were things I’d never even thought of that sparked a lot of joy and passion in me. I’ve always been a fan of quirky things – I dress in black a lot, but I love surrounding myself with bright colours and somewhat obnoxious patterns. So when it comes to nail art, I’ve just honed in on my love for vibrancy and definitely smiley faces! Tips for standing

out are, annoyingly, be yourself and try not to match or copy other people. Of course you can be inspired by others, but do what you enjoy rather than what’s trending. Showcase the things you actually have passion for doing, and your people will find you!

What would you describe your speciality as, and how did this define your target audience?

My speciality is definitely quirky nail art and vibrant colours. I think I managed to tap into a bit of a niche in my area, as there weren’t a whole load of people doing nail art! The incredible girls I work alongside at the salon and a few amazing

local nail techs absolutely did, but aside from that, there weren’t people offering loads of – I guess – weird and wonderful nail art. When you put out what you love, people of a similar style will find you thanks to the power of the internet, which is amazing for creativity.

Social media marketing is key to increasing a beauty professional’s client base. How did you grow your following, and what content works best to increase bookings?

I always say I was quite lucky when I started my Instagram, as I did this in lockdown when every single nail tech

Sophie Clarke

was at home. The days where you’d post a tech as ‘follow Friday’ and you’d constantly be doing tags on Instagram stories. It was a really wholesome time as nail techs were just figuring out how to get through the next few months without their creativity wavering. I also think one of the most important things you can do on social media is show yourself and add a personal touch to it. The people that follow you may be clients, other techs or just people that enjoy having their nails done, but inherently we are all quite nosy and enjoy getting to know the person.

Future clients don’t just want your stories bombarded with adverts or availability – they want to know the person they’re investing their time and money in. I know it’s not for everyone, but my Instagram gets so much more engagement when I post about what I’ve been doing with my day and more personal photos. I truly think the best way to increase bookings is, of course, to post the work you love doing that showcases your personality and skills but also to post talking stories and pictures from your day. Showing yourself and letting clients hear your voice makes you a human being rather than a faceless person behind an account, and people love that personal touch.

What are your goals for the future, and how do you plan on achieving them?

I always find this question really hard, as thinking of the future sets my anxiety off a bit! I’ve recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, so my job unfortunately does make this worse, which also makes looking into the future a bit odd. Truly, I’d love to continue seeing my incredible

clients and making funky nails but also attend more events, do more training courses and carry on creating more friendships within the industry. Perhaps one day it would be fun to be able to talk at an event, but I think that’s wishful thinking!

What has been your favourite nail trend in recent months, and what trends are you predicting for autumn/winter nails?

Favourite nail trend is such a hard question! There’s a lot that don’t really capture my attention as much, as they’re all beautiful but quite clean and

simplistic. I’ve absolutely loved the fish nails that have been super popular over the past few months – they’re so fun and colourful, which is exactly my vibe. On the flip side, I also love the spotty trend – a fun way to add nail art if you haven’t got a lot of time, which is key to having in your back pocket as a nail tech. As always for autumn and winter nails, I think chrome will continue to be mega popular, as that’s always a good look. But honestly I’m not very good at predicting trends, as I feel like one day there are none and the next day they’ve hit and everyone is obsessed – I don’t keep up very well, but luckily my clients don’t really go for trending nails either!

Salon of the Month 66 Hair and Lifestyle

I wanted to create the most wonderful and attentive space full of diversity, like our clients that walk through the doors.

Introducing 66 Hair and Lifestyle, a new salon in a dream location in Glasgow’s west end, Finnieston, surrounded by some of the best restaurants and independent businesses that Glasgow has to offer. Graeme Fawns, owner and director at 66 Hair and Lifestyle, shared, “I designed the whole space myself, and I’ve always prided myself on attention to detail, as it’s the little touches that make it bespoke. Subconsciously the design brief was familiarity; I tried to support independents using local craftsmen and artists. Everything is bespoke to the space and created for us.

“We have some bespoke neon lights above the cutting area, and in the main salon area, I wanted the feeling of an organic shape – almost like a lasso rope getting chucked in the air. I feel this ties in beautifully with our mirrors that are so sculptural and tactile and the cactuses that are over 8 ft tall that make it feel earthy.”

Vibrant colours are tied in throughout the salon, with bright pops of pink and bright neon boxes in the windows and salon logos above the reception. A soft light comes from a custom art installation made with resin and recycled materials. The rest is pretty soft and subtle. The mirrors inside the salon make the biggest statement, being over 8 ft tall, acting as doorways to another world but also incredibly tactical and curvy! Graeme noted, “We are all unique and come with curves in all different ways, so why not in our mirrors! They partner perfectly with our wooden floor and other quirky elements, such as our neon lighting, exposed brickwork, and industrial lighting.”

Graeme continued, “The best part of the space is how much it feels like me and is a celebration of the success I’ve created in my business. I wanted to create the most wonderful and attentive space full of diversity, like our clients that walk through the doors. It’s made with love and is a thank you letter to my team and clients for making it possible.”

When curating the treatment menu, Graeme focused the offerings on self-expression and fairness, removing gender

categories. Graeme shared, “Clients book their length, their texture and their finish; that’s it! We kept it playful with short lengths called Short ‘n Stubbly to Ear Tickler, Jaw Hugger, Shoulder Grazer, Below Deck, Deep Depths or Change My Vibe. Then you choose either Blow Me Out or Don’t Blow Me Out, or if you have something special on you, you can choose Session Me Up.

“The beauty in this is there are no surprises; we can have stylists for certain lengths and textures and filter where new talents need training and development. Clients love it, our team feel supported, and bigger jobs automatically get longer times. It stops awkwardness for add-ons and time and explains clearly what each service includes.”

When it comes to hiring for the salon, Graeme searches for individuals who demonstrate quality of work, an open and creative mind with a light-hearted nature and a passion to grow and excel. Graeme continued, “Team players that want to push each other and the brand to bigger things and being an open book make the most of the incredible diversity within our culture. We are so grateful to feel like a family, and as we grow, so does the family.”

To clients, feeling integral to the growth of the brand is what stands out as they visit, acknowledging that no matter the age or gender, 66 Hair and Lifestyle feels like a welcoming hub of creativity. To Graeme, that is how he differentiates his salon from others on the market, as he noted, “I read the room, and I adapt to the individual. I don’t think this can be taught; it’s something you naturally have or you don’t. We celebrate that individual with fresh eyes every time. We are not the same vibe, boring and unsurprising – if something doesn’t go to plan, we address it, grow from it and learn.”

Looking to the future, Graeme shared, “I’m looking forward to enjoying the effects of consistency on our new space as we mature further into our brand, and then, who knows? Watch this space!”

Team players that want to push each other and the brand to bigger things and being an open book makes the most of the incredible diversity within our culture.

Business

Attracting the Eco Conscious Client

Now more than ever, it’s crucial for salons to appeal to the eco-conscious client. Below, we hear from Nilofer Aydinli, director at Enki Towels as she shares five reasons why adopting a more environmentally friendly and sustainable approach can give salons a competitive edge and support their long-term growth.

Enhanced Brand Reputation

By taking a more sustainable approach, your salon can build a stronger brand reputation. This comes not only from attracting environmentally conscious clients but also from boosting employee engagement and morale. Many job seekers in the salon industry are drawn to businesses with strong values and visible sustainable practices. Likewise, clients are more inclined to choose a salon that takes environmental responsibility seriously when deciding where to book their next appointment. Promoting your commitment to sustainability—through social media, digital marketing, newsletters, and other channels can strengthen your brand image even more.

Attracting Environmentally Conscious Clients

Many of us are becoming increasingly conscious of our impact on the environment - paying attention to everything from water and electricity use to recycling habits and the products we choose. Consumers now research product ingredients, packaging recyclability, biodegradability, and whether items are cruelty free. Salons that take environmental responsibility seriously and implement sustainable practices gain a clear advantage over those that don’t. At Enki, we support this commitment by offering disposable towels that are not only environmentally friendly but also vegan.

Competitive Differentiation

Not every salon adopts eco-friendly practices, therefore, by choosing to take sustainability seriously, this can give you a competitive advantage. Clients who value sustainability will be more likely to choose a salon that reduce their environmental impact and that holds the same values as them over a salon that does not take sustainability seriously.

Lowering Operating Costs

Not only does being an eco conscious salon attract more clients and build loyalty, but it can also lower operating costs for the salon too. For example, by using a disposable towel instead of a reusable towel, this can lower water and energy usage costs for the salon, as stylists will not need to spend a large period of time at the end of their shift washing and drying towels.

Reducing Environmental Impact

Clients love to see that you are reducing your environmental impact – it shows you truly care about the environment you live in. Taking into consideration what you use and stock in the salon, from products, packaging, and towels, and researching how they can be recycled to lessen impact on the environment, is incredibly advantageous. At Enki, our disposable towels are made of natural plant fibres, making them naturally good and kind to the environment. They are also 100% biodegradable and even compostable and bio-degrade within 8-12 weeks. By using these types of towels, not only will your business benefit from huge savings but it will also reduce your carbon footprint too. www.enkitowels.com

Salon Wellness Retail

Industry expert Sam Grocutt has teamed up with fellow beauty leaders Ros Simmons and Natalie Ingham to launch Curated Beauty London, a new brand designed to cut through the noise with high-performance beauty and wellness essentials. With over 30 years’ each combined experience across PR, brand building and customer education, the trio have created a collection that speaks directly to the real needs of women today. Sam tells us more…

After decades of working with professional brands, I’ve seen first-hand how salon retail has evolved. Today’s clients are looking for more than great hair and skincare, they want solutions that help them feel and look better from the inside out. That’s exactly where Curated Beauty London, the new beauty and wellness brand I’ve co-founded with industry experts Ros Simmons and Natalie Ingham, comes in.

We created Curated Beauty London to simplify beauty. No fads, no clutter, just purposeful products that earn their place. Our first two wellness launches:

INNER CONFIDENCE and QUIET SHIFT, have been designed with real women in mind, making them perfect for salons looking to expand into wellness retail without overcomplicating their shelves.

INNER CONFIDENCE (RRP £60, 60 capsules, two-month supply) is our daily NMN+ supplement. Each capsule delivers 500mg NMN (≥99% purity) alongside vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C and D3. Together, they support energy, hormone balance, immunity and

healthy ageing. For clients struggling with fatigue, low mood, or changes in their hair and skin as they move through midlife, it’s a supplement that genuinely makes sense.

QUIET SHIFT (RRP £35, 60 capsules, two-month supply) is our evening magnesium blend, formulated with Aquamin® Marine Magnesium, Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium Glycinate. It supports calm, muscle recovery and restorative sleep and is the perfect solution for busy clients who feel

“wired but tired” or are struggling to wind down at the end of the day.

Both products are one capsule daily, with a two-month supply in every bottle, making them excellent value and an easy retail recommendation. For salons, they open the door to conversations around wellness, stress, energy and healthy ageing, topics your clients are already talking about in the chair.

The professional beauty industry has always been about confidence, and these products are an opportunity to help clients feel more supported, inside and out. With margins that work for salons and products that deliver on their promise, INNER CONFIDENCE and QUIET SHIFT are retail add-ons that go beyond the till and they’ll build loyalty, trust with real results.

Standing Out in a Saturated Market

Offering a dynamic and alternative approach to professional products for treatments, styling and hair colour. We hear from Eddie Renda, Managing Director at JGR UK Distributions LTD on behalf of MOOD as we discover how they stand out as a product brand in a saturated market.

There are so many different product brands on the market, and it can be hard for hair salon owners to choose the ‘right’ brand for their salon and that aligns with their ethos. For vegan salons, they will be looking for vegan, cruelty friendly brands that share the same values as their salon. For renowned colour salons, they will look to source a brand that achieves incredible colour results, whereby the colour is long-lasting

and leaves the hair in great condition. To set yourself apart in the industry can be difficult – many brands claim their products are high performing, clean, sulphate free and made with the very best ingredients. At MOOD we wanted to take a unique approach when it came to our products and how we approach salons when it comes to choosing MOOD as their brand of choice. Below are just a few aspects we took into consideration and that have helped

us to thrive as a product brand in an oversaturated market...

Excellent service and engagement with salon owners

We don’t just try to sell our products to salons and leave them there. We stay in consistent contact with our salons. Should we be looking for testimonials or case studies in magazines or for any of our brochures, we will get in touch and

offer these opportunities to our salons. We also have some fantastic Facebook groups available for our salon owners to stay in communication with us and will reach out regularly via phone to ensure they are happy with their products

Showcasing values

If your brand is vegan, environmentally friendly, and cruelty free, make sure to highlight these values when speaking to salons that share the same ethos. Many salon owners are actively seeking product ranges that align with their own values and those of their clients. By showcasing your commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, you not only tap into new markets but also demonstrate that your brand genuinely cares about the environment.

Comprehensive product range

Our brand offers a wide array of salon essentials - from permanent and demi colors to specific haircare lines (like Color Protect and Intense Repair). There is a line for every client’s hair needs/wants and for salons, they don’t need to stock more than one brand.

Products that personalise the experience for the client

Within our portfolio we have an Anti Hair Loss line. With ranges like this, salons can personalise the experience for the client. If a client comes to the salon and expresses their hair loss concerns, our salons can offer services with these

products to personalise the client experience and build client trust and loyalty.

Education and support

At Mood, we actively invest in professional education, offering education covering bleaching, high-lift colours, permanents, reconstruction, straightening, and coloration. This structured training empowers stylists

to confidently leverage the brand’s full capabilities.

Great price point without compromising product quality

Our salon owners often comment on how the products ‘tick all boxes when it comes to quality, price and dependability’. Regarding quality, MOOD products perform and do ‘what they say on the tin’. If a product says it will provide grey coverage, it will provide 100% grey coverage and won’t leave stylists disappointed.

A fast growing community of inspiring professionalslikeminded

At MOOD we are proud to have recently established a Creative Director – Tracey Ann Smith – and have now also launched our MOOD Brand Ambassadors and Artistic Team. Through this incredible community, we hope to inspire more salon owners and stylists with our products and show how our products can be used in different settings too –not just in the salon, but also backstage, at photoshoots etc.

Meeting Seasonal Demand

As the beauty calendar shifts into the final months of the year, salons are presented with a golden opportunity: meeting the rising demand for low-maintenance, high-impact treatments as clients crave services that deliver instant polish without daily effort. That’s why lash lifts and brow laminations are must-have menu items for successful salons.

October signals the start of a busy social season. Clients are juggling work, holiday parties, family gatherings, and winter weddings. Many want to look put-together with minimal prep time. Lash lifts and brow laminations answer that call:

Lash lifts give the illusion of longer, fuller lashes without extensions or mascara, ideal for clients who want effortless glamour through the party season.

Brow lamination tames unruly hairs and creates a fuller, lifted look — a trend that continues to dominate beauty aesthetics.

For clients, it means waking up “camera ready.” For salons, it means a loyal stream of repeat bookings every 6–8 weeks.

A Smart Business Move

Adding lash and brow treatments isn’t just about staying current — it’s a strategic revenue driver.

• High Profit Margins: The treatments require minimal product cost yet command premium pricing.

• Quick Service Times: Both services can be completed in under an hour, making them ideal add-ons or standalone appointments.

• Cross-Selling Opportunities: Pair lash lifts with tinting, or bundle brow lamination with shaping for increased ticket value.

2 Treatments, 1 System

The HIVE® DUAL LashLift range can be used for both lash lift and brow lamination treatments. Offering

salons high quality, fast acting, vegan formulations.

The system comprises of 3 liquid treatments which provide an easy to follow 3 step journey to eyelashes and eyebrows that are out of this world!

Step 1: HIVE® DUAL Lash Lifting Crème is the launchpad to perfect eyelashes and eyebrows!

Step 2: HIVE® DUAL Lash Treatment Lotion - Helps lashes and brows secure that star quality.

Meeting Modern Client Expectations

Today’s beauty client is educated, trendaware, and time-conscious. They’re scrolling Instagram and TikTok for inspiration and booking treatments that mirror what they see online. By adding lash lifts and brow laminations, salons

position themselves as up-to-date and responsive to client desires.

How to Nail the Rebrand

Freelance hairdresser Gabriella Wain, owner of Tilted Crown Hair Studio, discusses the importance of rebranding for salons of all sizes and how to use rebranding as a powerful tool for every independent stylist who wants to future-proof their business.

In the world of hairdressing, trends shift constantly. As a freelance hairstylist, you already know how important it is to stay fresh, current, and inspiring. But just as hair grows out and styles evolve, so too should your brand. Rebranding isn’t simply about swapping out a logo or updating your Instagram colour palette; it’s about elevating your entire profile and taking your business to the next level.

When you first started as a freelancer, your brand likely reflected where you were at the time: your skill level, your clientele, and your goals. But as you grow, those early visuals and messaging may no longer do justice to the professional you’ve become.

Rebranding allows you to showcase your expertise and experience in a way that communicates confidence and professionalism. It sends a clear message: you are evolving, and so is your craft.

The hair industry is personal. Clients don’t just come to you for a cut or colour; they come for the experience and how you make them feel. A thoughtful rebrand helps you refine how you present yourself to better connect with the type of clients you want to attract. From your website to your business cards to your social media presence, a cohesive identity builds trust and positions you as the go-to stylist for your niche.

Freelance hairstyling is a competitive field. A strong, modern brand is what makes you memorable in a crowded market. Rebranding gives

you the opportunity to stand apart by highlighting your unique style and values. Whether that’s sustainability, luxury service, or creative artistry, your brand should reflect what makes you different.

Rebranding is also a way to set yourself up for what’s next. Maybe you want to expand into education, launch a product line, or open your own studio. A wellthought-out brand identity can scale with you and support those ambitions. It’s an investment in your future, one that makes growth feel natural and attainable. Ultimately, rebranding is not just a cosmetic update; it’s about aligning your external image with the stylist and business owner you’ve become. When done with intention, it elevates your reputation, attracts your dream clients, and lays the foundation for lasting success.

For Health and Harmony

Innersense Organic Beauty, providing beauty treatments with full transparency and no gimmicks, share how to understand the difference between hydration, moisture and repair.

Hydration

Hydration infuses water into the hair’s internal structure. It’s essential to replenishing what’s missing at the core, bringing softness, elasticity and resilience from within. Hydration is water-based and foundational; without it, hair feels dry, brittle or dull, no matter what’s applied on the surface.

How to determine if you need hydration

- Hair soaks up water quickly, but dries quickly too

- Hair feels dry, rough or brittle

- Curls lack bounce or spring, or hair feels stiff

Recommended Products

- Hydrating Hair Mask

- Hydrating Cream Hairbath

- Hydrating Cream Daily Conditioner

Moisture

Moisture is the seal that locks in hydration and smooths the cuticle. Moisture helps prevent evaporation of water, tames frizz and gives slip and shine. It’s the protective layer that keeps hydration where it belongs. Think of hydration as water and moisture as the vessel that holds it. Both are vital and together, they create harmony in the hair.

How to determine if you need moisture

- Your hair feels good wet, but dries dull or lacking smoothness

- You notice flyaways and split ends

- Hair lacks shine

Recommended Products

- Sweet Spirit Leave in Conditioner

- I Create Shine

- Hair Renew Scalp Oil

Repair

Repair in hair care refers to restoring the structural integrity of the hair shaft, particularly when it’s been compromised by chemical treatments, heat styling, environmental stress or mechanical damage. Hair is made primarily of keratin (a protein), and when that structure breaks down, strands can become weak,

brittle and prone to breakage. Repairing products work by reinforcing the hair’s protein content. Protein is the framework that makes up approximately 93% of the hair strand. Protein rebuilds and reinforces the outer layer, helping to restore resilience, making hair more durable against stress, damage and styling. Protein brings body and vitality to hair that feels limp, fragile or soft, giving it structure and renewed health.

How to determine if you need repair

- You find short or snapped hairs with split ends rather than full strands

- Hair lacks elasticity and stretches when wet but doesn’t bounce back, or snaps instead of stretching

- Hair feels rough, especially in areas that were lightened or heat styled.

- Hair won’t hold curl, volume or definition and drops quickly after styling

Recommended Products

- Repair Mask

Repair Mask

Strengthen and reverse signs of dry, damaged or brittle hair with this deeply repairing treatment mask that builds bonds and fortifies strands. Hydrolyzed

Moringa Protein repairs hair from the inside out by bonding with keratin sites to restore structure and strength. Vitamin C and Tamanu Oil minimize breakage and seal split ends for a healthy, shiny finish. Suitable for all hair types and textures.

- Repairs hair by penetrating the hair

cortex to rebuild structure and increase resilience.

- Seals split ends to reduce the appearance of damage and enhance shine.

- Smooths frizz by deeply hydrating and locking in moisture.

Pro Tips

- Use a spa mist to warm towel, or steamer to create a relaxing, holistic moment.

- Start with the Detox Hair Mask to remove buildup, followed by the Repair Mask to deeply restore and rebalance the hair for optimal health.

- Ideal before colour treatments, especially lightening or corrective applications to prepare the hair and even porosity.

Product Fragrance

A bright, uplifting blend of mandarin, lime, and ginger gives way to calming green tea, clary sage, and lavender, grounded by coconut white woods, and a hint of sea minerals.

Detox Hair Mask

Prepare the hair, elevate the ceremony. Healthy hair begins with a clean foundation. Detox Hair Mask gently detoxes hair strands, removing buildup and residue to create the ideal canvas for hydration, moisture or repair.

Capturing Content

Everyone knows they need to capture content, but knowing what to capture is a different story. As part of this essential 5, we share five pieces of content to capture from a single nail appointment!

Before and After

Start with the classic: a side-by-side comparison of the client’s nails before and after their appointment. Snap a clear photo of the client’s natural nails or previous set before any work begins. And then capture the finished look under good lighting. Glow-up transformation shots always perform well when posted as stills or transformed into a simple reel.

The Process Reel

While working on the nails, take a quick video or photo of each key step; this could be shaping, applying acrylic or painting nail art. This gives followers a peek behind the scenes, which builds trust and curiosity. Speed it up and use trending audio to make it reel-friendly.

Lifestyle Shots

If you have a good rapport with your clients, ask them to pose with their nails, maybe holding a coffee cup, next to their outfit or with a matching background. These lifestyle shots feel more relatable and less “studio”. Also, if your client posts or reshares this on their Instagram, this is ideal for engagement and increasing awareness of your brand!

The After Reel

Once you’ve applied cuticle oil and hand moisturiser (if wanted), then it is your time to shine! Use this perfect opportunity to capture soft movements demonstrating the quality of your work. The background is important here; try using a plain background to let the nails do the talking! Aim for 5-10 seconds of soft, subtle movements.

Nail Design Breakdown

Turn the design into a mini tutorial or tip post. Try using Canva to break down the design into easy, repeatable steps, e.g., “5 steps to achieve this polka dot French”. These educational posts help provide inspiration to other nail artists, helping build your rapport with others in the industry.
