The Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance Presents

The Fifth Holy Convocation July 3nd - 7th, 2012 Anno Domini Convening at Christ Cathedral of Deliverance 612 South Race Street Statesville, NC 28677

“Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God

The Most Honorable, Apostle Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr. Presiding Prelate

Bishop Lawrence Richard Burrell, Sr. Vice Presiding Prelate

Bishop Michael Orlando Perry, Sr. General Secretary

Apostle & Mrs. Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr. Welcomes you to our Fifth Holy Convocation We honor the Host of Heaven Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Family of God represented here for HOLY CONVOCATION 2012!!! Whatever our vocation in life, or talent we have, it is natural that we become interested in the same things especially when to comes to Christ and His Holiness. Nowadays all living organizations are making efforts to do things worth while and we are aware of the fact that in this effort we needed assistance. Hence we proceeded to invite the Body of Christ in the Earth, and our friends to come to us and we are very grateful to you for coming. And since you came, it becomes our duty to prove our appreciation, and we are to begin by making you feel comfortable and at ease. So we wanted to say words of welcome to you. We speak on behalf of the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance as your Establishmentarians and on behalf of the First Family of our Reformation. In this holy atmosphere being created to celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by honoring Christ call to come in expectation, we are saying to you, whatever you may chance to see that attracts your attention, feel welcome to speak of it, or to it. We have tried in the past to make visitors feel that they are welcome but really you are not a visitor, because the Word of God emphatically declares: “the earth is the Lords, and the fullness thereof the world and they that dwell therein.” Ladies and gentlemen we are the Lord’s possession. As you have come to celebrate with us we pray you were greeted with love and kindness, which are characteristics of our Savior. We do not know just how well we have been able to do that, but we do hope that you will be impressed now, and forever after, that you are welcomed always to worship with us and share in the fellowship of the Saints as we glorify our Resurrected Lord.

Affirmation of Faith Moved by the revelation of Christ as God in our lives, we do hereby exhort and testify:

Christ is the physical manifestation of the eternal God who is both Holy and Spirit; and is doubtless the Father and progenitor of all that was, that is, and is yet to be.

Christ, the Jehovah of old and proven Elohim of the new, humbles us to repentance and shame of our waywardness and sin; while establishing our hope through reconciliation by His blood, regeneration by His Spirit, and remission of our sins by baptism in His name.

Washed by the preachment of His word, broken by the conviction of His Spirit, and

strengthen by the praise due unto His name, we are delivered and die daily to the intent that this great God we may know, suffer with, be empowered by resurrection with, and ultimately reign with.

To us everyday is holy even as He. We rejoice to awake to a new day of mercy for it is of this mercy we are not consumed, because His compassion faileth not. Faithful is He who never sleeps nor slumbers He is continually working all things together for our good.

We avow ourselves here again today to be faithful stewards with the gifts, talents, and wisdom

afforded us as His grace will allow. We further determine to press ever toward the mark of the high call of God, which is in Christ Jesus carefully spurning the Judas syndrome.

God forbid we should fall, but we never hang ourselves. For we are a people quick to repent, quick to rejoice and persistent to endure.

We live not for man. We live not for ourselves. It is for God we live. It’s for Him we

move and have our being.

Blessing and Honor, Glory and Power are due unto His name forever. Amen

The History of The Deliverance Tabernacle (Our Mother Church which birthed The AFCOD) “And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and a place of refuge, and a covert from storm and rain.” Isaiah 4:6

These words of Isaiah the Prophet were given to Pastor Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr. while conducting a revival in Kingsport, Tennessee. Little did he know that his destiny lay within these words. The Deliverance Tabernacle of the Apostolic Faith began on the 2nd Sunday in July, 1979 in the home of Sister Nancy Walker of Red Oak, VA; 19 people were present. The first sermon preached was, “Our God is Standing By.” On our next meeting date, Pastor Lykes preached, “Build Your Hopes on Things Eternal, Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand.” There were 21 people present, and in attendance was the Rev. Edwin G. Hall Sr., who consented to serve as Assistant Pastor of the church. On the 3rd service, we met at 11am at the 2nd Pentecostal Church of Clover, which was pastored by Rev. Chandler. Services were arranged so that we were able to meet each week for Tuesday and Thursday night services and Sunday morning worship. We met there until winter. Because of the heating expenses, Pastor and his members attended his home church, The Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church of South Boston, VA until weather conditions were warmer. It is now 1981, and time to launch out into the deep, services resumed at the Masonic Lodge in Clover. Our contact person was the Rev. Moses Forster. Little did we know his sister Margaret Durham would become one of our Church Mothers. It was during this time the church blossomed. God sent to us Rev. & Mrs. Burrell, Sister Ella Brooks, Sister Shirley Brooks, Sister Clara Stanfield, Rev. Tony Cooper, Brother Ricky Watson, and Sister Audrey Ford. Rev. Burrell through a dream given to our Pastor before he and his wife arrived was anointed by God as the Associate Pastor. They remain to this day. He was installed as such in August 1981. His first message was “The Good Shepherd.” A message we will never forget. Rev. Cooper came to us and conducted our first revival. He preached such sermons as “Caught in the Middle of a Mess; Lost Without a Cause; and The Devil Wants Me Dead or Alive.” However, his hallmark sermon will always be remembered, “If Sin is Your Hang-up, then Hell Will Be Your Hang-Out.” The Rev. Thomas Jenkins came to us and preached a message, “Never Say Die” and these messages remained in our hearts and continued to pave the way to our destiny. It was during this move of the spirit in 1981, that the Deliverance Tabernacle was purchased by the Virginia State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. The church purchased for our home was The St. Luke Episcopal Church of Clover. Pastor Lykes preached his hallmark sermon “Get Your Stuff Together, It’s Moving Time.” We remained there until 1983. Pastor Lykes went through a great trial which tested his faith. He had to make certain decisions that would reveal to the world and those around him, whether he had been called by God or not. The choice he made was to obey the voice of the Lord and Stand Still to see his salvation. After testing times were over and the people won the Victory, organizational changes were made. We joined the Power House of Deliverance Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc of Greensboro, NC where Bishop J.H. Covington served as the Chief Apostle and Pastor. It was during the Covington administration that this edifice was purchased.

On April 2, 1991, Bishop Covington went to sleep, resting from his labor here and to await the general resurrection, when the dead in Christ shall rise first, and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air. At that time, saints from every nation will come forth and in that number The Deliverance Tabernacle of the Apostolic Faith, South Boston, VA will be recognized as the Bride of Christ, along with the Tabernacle, The Christ Church of Deliverance of Statesville, NC. We will be side by side, marching in our white robes having been washed in the Blood of the Lamb. Then no one can deny that we are the visible splendor of God’s Kingdom; The Elect of God full of Glory, wearing the Royal Garments of the Kingdom. On the first Wednesday in February 1994, Christ Church of Deliverance was established and held its first service at the Holiday Inn Express on Sullivan Road. Our first message was “A More Excellent Ministry.” Everyone at that service remained except two people. The first Sunday service was held at the Holiday Inn on Garner Bagnal Boulevard and the Apostolic Women’s Society was in charge. From the Holiday Inn we began having services at the Bristol Community Center until we moved our services to Interfaith Deliverance Church on Western Avenue with the late Bishop Benny Davis and saints. We remained at Interfaith until we purchased our new home the Race Street United Methodist Church, which was dedicated on April 5, 1996 by His Grace, The Honorable Bishop Jesse Delano Ellis, II and The United Pentecostal Churches of Christ. At that time our name was changed to Christ Cathedral of Deliverance. We remained members of The United Pentecostal Churches of Christ until the year 2000 when we began forming the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance. And on February 19, 2008, at our First Annual Holy Convocation we named Christ Cathedral of Deliverance as our Headquarters Cathedral. On Saturday, February 23 at 12:00 noon, The Service of Apostolic Installation for our Presiding Prelate was conducted by Chief Apostle Sylvester Davis Johnson, of the True Vine Churches of Deliverance International (TVCOD), with headquarters in Winston-Salem, NC, of which Bishop Lykes serves as the First Vice Presiding Bishop and Dean of the College of Bishops. We declare for this house covered by the blood and blanket of love that will spread over our entire church family, because all we have is God. His love has already given us the character of His Holiness. We realize that we are destined for greatness and the Conquest lies ahead. Therein answering the age old question, “Who has seen this House in its first glory and how do you see it now?” We see it, Terrible as an Army with Banners; Glistening in the noon day Sun; Leaning on the Arm of her Beloved. And His name is above, every name, Jesus. He is the highest ruler, with all authority over every Power.

The Legend of The Coat of Arms Centermost on the cover is the Coat of Arms of the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance (AFCOD). This crest was created by His Grace, Bishop Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr., our Establishmentarian. This crest represents the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance obeying the Great Commission, carrying the gospel into the four corners of the earth. In the top left corner is the Crown of Righteousness that awaits the children of God if we will remain faithful and true to our faith in Christ Jesus. At the bottom left is fire which represents the spirit of Holiness, for our God is a consuming fire. According to the scriptures, our faith and works will be tried by fire and if they come out as pure gold we are saved and ready to receive our reward…… this fire also signifies zealousness which rest in the hearts of our membership, to be about our Fathers business until He comes. The top right corner reminds us that on a hill far away stood an old rugged cross on which our Saviour died and where we first saw the light of our salvation. It also expresses how the Love of God transcends our human understanding and allows us to strive in Christ likeness. The cross also denotes the unity of heaven and earth. The bottom of the cross – earth, the top – God, however before you can reach God there must be relationship – man to man. In the lower right corner is the Lion of the tribe Judah that shall break every chain and give to us the victory again and again. The lion also speaks of the bravery, strength, ferocity, and valor exhibited by all who follow Christ and except the salvation which he gives. As you continue your study of the crest, let us approach with deepest reverence, the heart of our ministry, THE ARK OF THE COVENANT. Put off your shoes, for if any place be sacred, surely this we now tread is holy ground. The Ark of the Covenant representing the presence of Almighty God, touching every aspect of our ministry speaks also of preservation. Just as the Ark preserved, God’s precepts to Israel, so the Lord Jesus, as our everlasting covenant, has reserved for us the title deed to our salvation in heaven. Atop the crest is the Bishop’s Miter, symbolizing the Acts 2: 3-4 experience; the Key and the Shepherd’s Staff (Crozier) are the support for the Shield of Faith on which the Arms rest. The flowing stole from the sides of the Shield represent the yokemanship of all who serve with the Primate in the promulgation of holiness. The banner on which the Coat of Arms Rest is inscribed: EKKLESIA TIKTO PURINOS being interpreted, “A Church Meeting The Needs of a Needy World.” “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1Timothy 1:17

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE COLORS USED IN THE CREST: Gold – Generosity and elevation of the mind Red – Warrior or martyr Blue – Truth and loyal Green - Hope, joy and loyalty in love Maroon - Patient in battle, and yet victorious

The Seal of The Apostle Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr.

THE EAGLE is a divine bird that flew above the storms, while below there are only sorrows, dangers, and distress. It is a swift bird strong and powerful, never becoming weary. THE CROWN denotes royal or seigniorial authority, defender of a fortress, token of civic honor; one who first mounted the breach in the walls of a fortress, our establishmentarian also strives for the crown of righteousness laid up for the saints, and has determined in his mind to endure to the end, so that he too can Crown Christ Jesus Lord of All. THE SHOFAR is an instrument made from the horn of a ram or other kosher animal. It was used in ancient Israel to announce the New Moon and call people together. It was also blown on Rosh Hashanah, marking the beginning of the New Year, signifying both the need to wake up to the call to repentance. It is to rouse the Divine in the listener. It must be an instrument in its natural form and naturally hollow, through whom sound is produced by human breath, which God breathes into human beings. This pure, and natural sound, symbolizes the lives it calls the saints to lead. The bend in the shofar is supposed to represent how a human heart, in true repentance, bends before the Lord. It reminds the pious how Abraham, offering his son Isaac in sacrifice, was reprieved when God decided that Abraham could sacrifice a ram instead. THE WORD OF GOD WITH THE CROSS IN THE MIDDLE denotes our Chief Pastor preaches the Old and New Testaments with Calvary bridging the gap. The Old Testament was types and shadows of things to come and is just as important today as it ever was. The New Testament reveals the wonderful works of God, for God was in Jesus, reconciling the world to Himself. THE CANNON MOUNTED ON A CARRIAGE PROPER taken from the crest of the Lykes family which depicts peace and sincerity; signifies truth, loyalty, protection, security, along with military fortitude. Its origin: England. GUARDED BY A PAIR OF LIONS, which is always recognized as strong, fierce, and majestic. It was the royalist of animals. It represents bravery, strength, ferocity, valor, and dauntless courage. The lion of Judah is often portrayed with a partner, the two lions rampant, standing on their hind haunches, their front paws perched on the top of the tablets of the Covenants, guarding it. RESTING ON VINES is direct response and obedience to our Lord Jesus who said, “I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman.” He also stated, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These vines signify strong and lasting friendship with Jesus. The vine denotes a person of noble nature, strength, bravery, and alertness. One who is high spirited, ingenious, quick-witted and judicious; true magnanimity and strength of mind. Lastly it signifies protection, which sums up our leader in character, “A man after God’s own heart.”

The Significance of The Crest The Mitre: Behold I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head words of the Holy Scriptures concerning Joshua…Zachariah 3. When prophesied upon years ago, the words to our leader were Joshua, Joshua, the spirit of Joshua be upon you, lead my people saith the Lord!!! The mitre pictured in the crest is in representation of our Chief Apostle, Dr. Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr., who was called by Almighty God and given the vision on our ministry, The Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance. On the eve of our 33 year, in the month of April which is the birth of our Primate, Christ Theological Seminary which is another part of the vision fulfilled was birth. CTS was birth with all documents signed and letters of acceptance on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 which is at the end of our 32nd year which means Covenant. God swore by Himself that He would bless us. The Cross used as the instrument of punishment, is where Jesus Christ died. He gave His life to redeem mankind so that people could be forgiven from their sins. Jesus suffered excruciating pain and contemptible humility on the cross. It is Christ, that this institution of theological learning is name for. Therefore the heart of this crest is completely joined by the Cross. The hymn says it best…… In the cross of Christ I glory, Towering o’er the wrecks of time; All the light of sacred story gathers round its head sublime. The Key symbolizes power and authority. Christ by employing this symbol clearly designed to signify his intention to confer on St. Peter the supreme authority over His Church as Chief Apostle and anointed him to preach the First message on the Day of Pentecost which is the Birthday of the Church. We too are absolutely Apostolic, positively Pentecostal, and Holiness is simply beautiful. The Staff or Crosier is an ecclesiastical ornament which is conferred on bishops at their consecration and is the symbol of authority and jurisdiction. It represents the staff of the ‘Good Shepherd’ who watches over his flock. The Streamers from the Mitre which represents the rivers of living water connects the Coat of Arms to our Establishmentarian who continues through Christ to go forth with the vision as God continues to lead, not wavering in faith that the Glory of God may be manifested and the Apostolic Faith may be preserved and promoted into all the world from this branch of Zion. The Ark of The Covenant which is from the center of the crest of our Reformation denotes the presence of Almighty God which flows throughout the ministry. God ordered Moses to build a golden ark. It would become the Holiest of Holies. From it, God would sit upon the angel’s wings and speak to his servant and command the Israelites. In the ark Moses placed three things; a vessel containing manna which had fed the Israelites in the dessert, the tablets of the Ten Commandments, and the rod of Aaron which had blossomed and which had struck a rock to produce water in the desert for the Israelites. The same rod which also became a serpent devouring the Pharaoh’s magician’s serpent, and parted the Red Sea. The Lamp of Knowledge is the guiding light of scientific inquire in an atmosphere of intellectual freedom. The Lord himself is the source, the enlivener and enlightener of all knowledge. The oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit of God which is the height of all intelligence and in Him is no darkness at all. The Bible with orange flame refers to Ephesians 1: 19-20, “And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places]. Amplified The banner HOI CHRISTOI THEOU specifies Jesus as the Messiah. It means “The Anointed One.” In the Old Testament the prophets were called hoi christoi Theou, the anointed of God. In our generation, this religious title can be representative of God’s anointing upon each Christian. The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 1:21, “But he, who makes us steadfast with you in joint fellowship with Christ and has anointed us, is God.” Christ Theological Seminary is being established as we enter our 33rd year of ministry. The number 33 means, “promise.” We enter this new dimension in God, with humbled hearts and thankfulness for the wonderful grace of Jesus. Crest prepared by: Apostle Carl Daniel Lykes, Sr. Bishop Tyrone St. Gregory Strange, II Overseer Augustus Leonard Jones, II 2012 at Statesville, North Carolina 3 O’clock in the Post Meridian

Apostolic Salutation Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is with great joy and anticipation that I write to you my Father’s Children. The greatness of the Lord is inconceivable, the love that he shows is unconditional, the power of the Lord is unbeatable, great is the GOD WE SERVE!!! The words of this song are so befitting as we enter the fifth year of our Holy Reformation, “Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God.” As God’s people we cannot deny His goodness or His mercy towards us. Our trials and daily experiences helped us to understand that in every decision of life we are making ourselves a certain kind of person. Often times it’s so easy to point the finger and cast the blame of our situations on everyone else, instead of taking the responsibility of our actions and attitudes. The bride of Christ is not exempt of bearing fruit worthy of repentance. Let us thank God that we have learned through our faithfulness that repentance is the door into the presence of God’s grace. Thank God we never allowed pride to stand in our way which would have caused us to be in denial of our failures and the spirit of condemnation would have rested on us. We are the sum total of our successes and failures. Our awareness of sin opens the way for us to experience forgiveness and the wonderful grace of Jesus. It is with this spirit of contrition we have remained faithful and steadfast, continuing in the Apostolic doctrine and in fellowship with one another. We rejoice in our hearts that we have preached the gospel mixed with faith as the Apostle Paul has admonished us to do so that we may enter into the rest Christ have prepared for his people. This is the only way we as a body will be able to receive the will of God in an unwilling world. I pray as you have come to Holy Convocation 2012, that you have come with the expectation that you can’t wait to see what’s coming next. I pray that through the power of the scars that you have endured, you have brought the sacrifice of praise, so that together we can celebrate the worthiness of our God, because unity is always good in the work and influence of the church. United, we can accomplish much for the kingdom of God. As the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance, let us remember, Christ like unity is a heart union of believers ready to work together for the purpose of glorifying God and furthering the work of his kingdom. Therefore let us remember our vision with the spirit of obedience and humility, to maintain our ministry and purpose in the earth. Together we are establishing the Kingdom for the King.

Great is the Lord and Greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the Mountain of His Holiness. I greet you in the name of His Majesty, King Jesus. Truly the Lord is great in our midst, and because of His greatness we have come together for another grand time when our God, The Lord Jesus Christ will speak to this people. In times past we have been so favored by His presence that everyone received exactly what was needed to continue their walk with the Lord and most of all with each other. As your Vice-Bishop, I admonish you to continue experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God even after this Holy Convocation is over. reetings in the name of Yahweh, the wheel in the middle of the wheel, the unmoved mover, moving all things yet is never moved himself. It is with great exuberance that I greet you to Convocation 2012 – Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God. If you’ve been obedient to hear this Clarion call, you should offer Him yet another praise for you have been chosen for a special time as this where our master is bringing together the remnants from the north, south, east and west to close up this gospel age. There’s a special anointing being released and if you’re at the Apostolic See reading this greeting you’re in place for another anointing. God is revealing that He is the only Potentate. It’s one thing to read and learn that He is the Potentate but it is altogether another thing to fully experience His Omni- Potency. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and we are not the church defeated but we are the church triumphant. So get ready for deeper depths and higher heights. Get ready for Majesty. Get ready for a taste of heaven where you’ll come one way and leave another. Get ready to go into His Presence and leave transformed. It is one of the most phenomenal awesome times to be walking in this Kingdom Mandate where we are witnessing His Hand so mightily and where we’re entering into that rest where the supernatural becomes the norm. Thus, we thank Him for our name being on the roll and we are gracious to have answered this call. Once again, you are welcome. In Him, Bishop Michael O. Perry General Secretary

G

reetings in the oneness of God; I welcome you to the 6th Annual Holy Convocation of the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance. The theme for this year is “Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of All Mighty God.” We are living on the edge of expectation where the government shall be upon His shoulders. Brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen of the Lords church please recognize in this 21st century we have been called into the kingdom for such a time as this and we have been given a clarion call also with a purpose by Jesus. Now is the time that God is gathering up the fragments (the leftovers) just like He did after he fed the five thousand with two fish and five loaves of bread, so that none would be lost. He is putting the broken pieces together, your hurts along with my disappointments combined in the basket now becomes glory food for another. We have been fed through the years by the miracles that God has performed in our lives. Sustained by the unmerited favor called grace, and kept by the wonder working power of God. Twelve is a perfect number, signifying perfection of government, or of governmental perfection. It is found as a multiple in all that has to do with rule. The twelve baskets of fragments, the twelve tribes of Judah, the twelve gates to the city, the twelve disciples, and the twelve foundations in the heavenly Jerusalem. This is the year of Celebration, let us rejoice and be glad! We have passed through many trials of persecutions and purification. We became stronger, more faithful and devoted! It is a new life that awaits us ahead. Let God’s grace be revealed to us even more! Let us remember, that God is always with us. Our church and each of its members has a purpose and calling from God, which is to bring people freedom and salvation. Let us give glory to God that’s due unto His name. I am thankful for those who were not led astray and stood faithfully accomplishing the work of God. I wish everyone abundant joy, smiles and happiness in celebrating our Savior. Saints come let us stand at an even place and bless the Lord. Sincerely yours in His Service, Bishop Nathaniel St. Jerome Lassiter

Greetings in the name that rings the harps of heaven and five letters J.E.S.U.S. Lord make us one,Lord make us one,Lord one in Jesus name. The words of the song mean so much as we have pressed our way to the Apostolic See to the call of God like in ( Psalms 50:5)”gather my saints together unto me”. As the Bishop of Church Affairs of A.F.C.O.D, I welcome you to our fifth Holy Convocation. From the very beginning we have been “caught up in an outbreak of God’s presence”. As His ambassadors, we release, establish, and implement His invisible Kingdom in the visible. With the them” Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God” and prophecy that said we haven’t seen anything yet. I am in expectation and can’t wait to see what God is going to do next, Because believing the ridiculous is Kingdom lifestyle.

T

o God be the glory for the great things He has done. I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Once again God Almighty has proven Himself as supreme ruler and sovereign King. During this convocation, allow God to speak to the inner man to bring about change in your life. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If we, as a body of believers are going to continue “Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God,” the word He speaks during this time must penetrate the inner man. The word “ govern” means to exercise continuous sovereign authority over and the word “perfection” means to finish", to bring to an end. This is a time when the sovereign authority of God will bring to an end some things in the body of Christ. I encourage you, the people of God to let Him govern your life. Let the word God will send during this time bless the inner man and watch God perfectly bring joy and peace to your lives.

Overseer, Reggie LaMont Brown Sr.

First Lady Sherry C. Lykes Congratulations Apostle Carl D. Lykes and the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance On our 5th Annual Holy Convocation

Grace and peace be upon us all! God is such an awesome and mighty God. Thematically, we have declared 2012 the year that God has graced us to “Experience the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God”. When I consider governmental perfection, divine order comes to mind. I believe that we are in a season of God setting everything in order; in the church first and then in the personal lives of those who are sold out for Christ. Those who have made a resounding declaration, “For God I live and for God I die”. This is the year of divine power, rule and authority and Apostolic fullness as well. God is setting His house in order; first the apostles, then the prophets, then the evangelists, pastors and teachers. These gifts God gave to the church to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. The Lamb’s bride is still yet being prepared for his coming. Hallelujah! Thank you Apostle Lykes for being such a dynamic apostolic covering and a true man of God. I thank God that His governmental perfection includes a divine plan for you and me. A plan to turn our barrenness and cause every unproductive place in our lives to bear fruit for the kingdom. I love you Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance and I love you so very much Apostle Lykes. God Bless you, Lady Sherry C. Lykes

Elder Jamie & Overseer Myrah Lykes

Apostolic Greetings, We would like to celebrate AFCOD on our fifth Holy Convocation. Truly we can say that we are safe in His arms. It is because of the Lord’s mercy that we have not been consumed. Being a part of this ministry has saved our lives many times. We realized that our destiny would not let us die. We thank you Apostle for hearing the Macedonia call and not giving up even when it got tough. We celebrate you and the ministry that He has put in our hands. We realize that somebody’s destiny is tied up in our obedience. Elder Jamie Lykes, Overseer Myrah Lykes, Jamie and Anthony

Elder Carl & Tracy Lykes

Exodus 15:11 declares "Who is like the Lord, amongst the gods who is like you majestic in holiness, terrible in glorious deeds, doing wonders." When I look and see where God has taken us I can truly say that he is still doing wonders. We are in the season of undeniable miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs. We are in a season of kingdom expansion globally and eternally. God has validated you as our chiefest Joshua for this generation, thus, allowing the perfection of God's government to be experience by all who come short of the glory of God. I am proud of you, the leader, the father, and the friend you are to me. You never gave up or gave in, you are my hero. Congratulations! From Me, Tracy and your grand daughter on the way!

Youth Pastor & Music Director

Greetings in the name of the Great I Am, King Jesus. As this great gospel stage edges towards that great day, Holy Convocation 2012 is in the air and we shall assemble with Him in Glory. This Convocation will be precipitated by the trump of God and I hear a different sound of heaven signifying an immense coming together! I ecstatically salute you in this prodigious moment, where the saints will celebrate the continual thrust towards His arrival in praise and worship at the Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance Headquarters. As we convene, we value the time spent in the dressing up room because the Master has decided to bring us out of the room to divulge His Masterpiece with Glory resting on our backs. As an Overseer in the Lord’s church, I am honored to serve the greatest pastor, and his people in the world, “The Set Apart”! So in the same sanctified anointing, I anticipate an unlimited manifestation of God. “For the foundation of God Standeth Sure Having This Seal The Lord Knows Them That Are His”. May God completely bless you from the time forth. In Christ, Overseer Darrius S. Hopkins

the

word

"Magisterium" refers to the teaching authority of the church. This authority is understood to be embodied in the episcopacy, which is the aggregation of the current bishops of the church, led by our chief Apostle, who has authority over the bishops, individually and as a body, as well as over each and every Diocese directly. According to Apostolic doctrine, the Magisterium is able to teach or interpret the truths of the Faith, and it does so either non-infallibly or infallibly.

Apostolic Greetings Grace and Peace to you from God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We greet you with divine love because the Lord is good and his mercy endureth forever. I want to take the time to send forth an Apostolic greeting in welcoming you to the 5th Annual Holy Convocation, Experiencing the Governmental Perfection of Almighty God. God is blessing us in the diocese of the Midwest. It proves to be a favorite time of the year where AFCOD Family can gather to fellowship in love, peace and unity. Apostle Lykes, you are a person of unquestionable integrity, I admire your devotion to The Office and I pray that God will continue to bless the Body of Christ with more leaders like you. Your Humble Servant, Bishop Christopher G. Williams
