Land sited at the west entrance of Portopalo di Capo Passero – Syracuse, used for agricolture with cherry tomatoes greenhouse. The client requested to design a 4 stars enviromental sustainable hotel. I took inspiration from the traditional farmstead 'masseria' with 'U – shaped' site plan for the sustainability, designing a set of buildings, with

Agricultural land at the west entrance of Portopalo di Capo Passero, used for growing greenhouse crops, mostly the famous ‘Pachino’ cherry tomato. The client requested the design of an environmentally sustainable 4-star Portopalo di Capo Passero is sited at the extreme southern point of Italy, making it one of the warmest and windiest villages in Italy. The strongest winds come from the west and are associated with intense perturbations in the winter months. The most prevalent winds are often calm coming from the south-east, which in the summer months are associated with high humidity and intense heat. However, during the winter, the most frequent winds are associated with intense storm surges. I chose to study environmental analysis to produce a database for a parametric design in order to obtain the best passive cooling system for that site. The site plan allows breezes to pass over the water of the swimming pool and through the shade of the porches before entering the buildings. A fountain of moving and nebulized water is positioned on the porch to the

The walls around the ground level are clad in local sandstone, while the exposed sides facing the porches and the pool feature large windows.
