My passion for architecture and design has brought me to the United States and Australia for education. Throughout my academic and professional career as an architectural designer, I have developed specific philosophy pertaining to dynamic architecture and parametricism. This has led to a high degree of proficiency in utilizing parametric and computational design workflows to complement and improve the efficacy and efficiency of design processes during various phases of project design in both academic and work settings.

My affinity to parametric and computational design in architecture encompasses the strong belief that these design tools, if used properly, can assist architects in developing unique solutions that respond appropriately to human needs. Designing properly with parametric, computational, and generative processes can create spaces and moments in which those who visit or occupy architecture can appreciate them and experience wonder.

EXPERIENCE

Min Architects & Associates

Architectural Intern | 2015

[Dahan Institute of Technology Dormitory, Taiwan] Completed Participated in an open competition to design the school’s dormitory complex. Fabricated the main digital and physical models for the initial design proposal for the competition. After the two-stage competition, proceeded to assist design team with mapping the site digitally after site surveys, and drafting initial floor plans of the dormitory design using primarily AutoCAD, which was the standard software for the office at that time.

PROFICIENCIES

[FormGen Construction Ltd Headquarters, Taiwan] Completed

Assisted the principle architect with a side project, the schematic design phase for a six-story headquarters for FormGen Construction company. Created exterior and interior renders and animations for presentations using Lumion 3D. Produced a detailed set of initial floor plans, sections and elevations using AutoCAD. Fabricated a physical model for the first client meeting.

David Chipperfield Architects

Architectural Designer | 2017

[West Bund Art Museum, Shanghai, China]

Designed the main stairwell and handrails during the schematic design phase using Rhinoceros for modeling, and Maxwell for rendering. Handled site plan updates, and drafted floor plans and structural sections for DD submissions later on. Assisted project architect with detailing the museum skylights and atriums. Attended regular meetings with both the client and facade consultants across the SD and DD phases.

[Shanghai City Hall, Shanghai, China]

Worked closely with the project team, David Chipperfield, and design director Mark Randel during the schematic design phase. Took responsibility for digital site models and physical models for all initial iterations of the city hall renovation project. Assisted the team with designing alterations to the existing Shanghai City Hall facade, using Rhinoceros to produce high fidelity interior and exterior models, and using those to generate graphics for presentations during client meetings. Was responsible for site documentation and organization of the site survey material as well.

[Zhejiang Medicine Headquarters, Zhejiang, China]

Was heavily involved with the schematic design of the project. Assisted project architect with the planning and consolidation of program requirements for the pharmaceutical company’s headquarters. Created and updated several spatial diagrams for visualization of program allotment, constructed physical and digital models for client meetings, produced renders using Maxwell, attended presentations to the client (Zhejiang Medicine board members), and contributed to the initial form and design of the building complex.

[Shanghai Expo Tower Facade Bid, Shanghai, China]

Created specific workflow for digital and physical model development during the schematic design phase. Produced 1:100 metric scale models and detailed renders of exterior perspective views for presentations to the client. Assisted project architect with designing ceramic louvres for Shanghai Expo Tower’s facade using Rhinoceros for 3D modeling, Maxwell for rendering and Photoshop for post-production of rendered images.
