They then start their journey to the Ballarat district collection centre before going to Melbourne for dispatch to their destination country and children. Please continue to pray for their safe journey and for the children who will receive a box and Christian literature. We’ll provide final tallies of boxes and donations in the October Intouch.

How Do You Really Know If Mentoring Makes A Difference? Claudia had mentored Franklin since early primary school right up until grade 6 several years ago. Franklin had been a quiet student, without much response at times, making it difficult for Claudia to gauge if mentoring was really making a difference. It wasn’t until recently when she was volunteering in an Op Shop, a teenage boy & dad walked in prompting Claudia to ask “Is that you Franklin?” seeing some resemblance. Franklin's eyes lit up on seeing her. Claudia was amazed to learn from the dad, that when they had moved recently from their family home of 20 years, all Franklin wanted to take with him was a box of treasured holiday post cards she sent over the years and a small gift she had given him at Christmas during their time at primary school. Thank you to all our wonderful mentors who provide "hope in the life of a child". Being a KIDS HOPE Aus mentor has definitely been one of the best and most rewarding things I’ve ever done—and it works.! To think that just one hour a week of committed care, time and attention can ,make such a real difference. If you would like to find out how to become a mentor, please contact church office
