Living the Passion Conference in October 2021 nothing short of a miracle!
COMMENTS FROM THE “INSIDE” John Wilkes, former CEO of Counties ably chaired the Steering Group for the Living the Passion conference held in October 2021. He has given his comments on the planning, running and reviewing of the conference. Living the Passion 2021 was nothing short of a miracle! During the previous two years, and the duration of the pandemic, the Steering Group had regular Zoom calls for ‘planning in faith’, prayer and fellowship. The representatives of five service groups (GLO, Counties, Echoes International, Partnership and Church Growth Trust) wrestled with the uncertainty of restrictions and the inability to gather, even for regular church services. 24
However, by the grace of God, we sensed that He wanted us to prepare for re-gathering, re-connecting and physical fellowship around the word of God. We believed that we should focus on what it really means to be “TOGETHER”, and we developed this as our theme. We were thrilled that Derek Burnside, Principal of Capernwray Bible College, agreed to explore this, and his 20 years spent at Belmont Chapel in Exeter provided a deep connection with our family of churches.
