AW 20

1 BRAND IDENTITY Vivienne Westwood is one of the last independent global fashion houses in the world and they exist to produce more than clothes and accessories. The brand uses its collections, collaborations and catwalk shows as a platform to capture the imagination, promote innovative design and campaign for protecting life on Mother Earth, Gaia. They strive to make clothes with greater care, promote Arts & Culture and always use their platform to mobilize people around Climate Change and Human Rights.

2 BRAND HISTORY British designer Vivienne Westwood had no intent in becoming a world-renowned fashion icon. Her story began as a young woman breaking from the comfortable path prescribed for her. Born Vivienne Swire on April 8, 1941 in a village around Derbyshire, England, Westwood would grow out of her role as a local primary school teacher by following her passions. Her designs were pulled from the pages of history books, modernizing and altering where she believed fit. With a rebel heart, Westwood became one of the key figures who influenced the wave of against-the-rule-attitude fashions of the ‘90s that continue to inspire looks today.

3 QUALITY VS QUANTITY She is well known for her historically inspired collections as for her ecological militancy. One of her bestknown slogans, “Buy less, choose well, make it last, calls for balanced consumption, whether of fashion or any other resources. In her collections you can find organic linen and cotton being used for T-shirts, hoodies and trousers, bamboo fibre for certain shirts as well as precious colourful jacquards that were realized with cellulose acetate produced from wood fibre sourced from a programme of reforestation. She is close to the charities Greenpeace and Peta, Westwood actively campaigns through action programmes, viral videos and fundraising efforts.

Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s climate system observed since the per-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heattrapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere.

The collection is meant to create awareness of the dreadful future of the world . Especially in todays time when the world is forwarding into a chaotic future, it is important to educate the society of the adverse effects of climate change in any means necessary.
