During our Gospel reading, we heard how Jesus extended to His disciples the power to bind and to loosen previously conferred on Peter In an action closely linked to that power, Jesus calls us today to offer forgiveness for all those who have sinned, and are now repentant. With His command, Jesus is inaugurating one of Christianity strengths; it is not enough to take care of ourselves, it is also our duty to take care of our brothers and sisters.

Fraternal correction must be kind, private, and discrete. Punishment or revenge must not be our goals, but our desire to reincorporate our falling brothers and sisters into our faith community. It took a long time for humanity to discover that the Lord is not our enemies' enemy, neither He is enemy of His own enemies. Today we are invited to remember that forgiveness has two faces, and that both are equally complicated. On the one hand, we are called to ask forgiveness for our trespasses; on the other hand, in imitation of Christ, we need to unconditionally forgive all those who had offended us. But a spirit prone to forgive does not mean indifference before sin.When the one offended address the offender, the seed of forgiveness is already being nurtured. Today we are all invited to participate in our neighbors' salvation, not by accusing or reprimanding them, but by offering them counseling,and inviting them to recognize their faults.

In imitation of Christ, the disciple is always concerned about his brother and sister's salvation. The Fathers of the Church considered this action a big Christian virtue. Even when sometimes we need to condemn an action, we can never judge the person who committed it. Today, let us take the challenge to spend our lives offering our pardon to all those who have offended us, and never forget to ask forgiveness on the occasions when we have been the offenders. Let us make it a purpose to never limit the pardon and forgiveness offered by divine grace. Do not forget: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.”

En el evangelio, Jesús extiende a sus discípulos el poder para atar y desatar que ya había conferido a Pedro Y en una acción íntimamente ligada a este poder, Jesús nos llama hoy a perdonar al que ha pecado, y que se ha arrepentido Jesús inaugura con este mandato una de las fortalezas del cristianismo; no es suficiente con preocuparnos por nosotros mismos, también debemos de cuidar de nuestros hermanos.

La corrección fraterna debe de ser fraterna; privada y discreta. La meta no es el castigo o la venganza, sino el deseo de reintegrar a la persona a la comunidad. Tomó mucho tiempo para que la humanidad descubriera que el Señor no es enemigo de nuestros enemigos, y que ni siquiera es enemigo ni de sus propios enemigos. Hoy somos invitados a recordar que el perdón tiene dos caras, y ambas, igual de complicadas Por un lado, somos llamados a pedir perdón por nuestras culpas; por otro lado, a imitación de Cristo, debemos perdonar incondicionalmente a quien nos ha ofendido. Pero el espíritu de perdón no significa indiferencia ante el pecado Cuando el ofendido se dirige al que lo ha ofendido, la semilla del perdón está ya germinando Hoy somos invitados a hacernos responsables de la salvación de nuestros hermanos, no solo acusándolos o reganándolos, sino también aconsejándolos e invitándolos a reconocer sus faltas.

Todo aquel que al menos intenta ayudar en la salvación de sus hermanos está imitando a Cristo Los Padres de la Iglesia califican esta acción como la mayor de las virtudes cristianas. Aunque debamos condenar una acción, jamás juzguemos a quien la comete, por absurda que esta sea. Aceptemos hoy el reto de caminar nuestra vida ofreciendo siempre nuestro perdón a aquellos que nos ofenden, y jamás olvidemos pedir perdón por las veces cuando hemos sido los ofensores. Jamás intentemos limitar el perdón que la misericordia y la gracia divina ofrecen. Jamás olvidemos que “donde dos o tres se reúnen en mi nombre,ahí estoyYo en medio de ellos.”

Trong bài Tin Mừng, chúng ta đã nghe Chúa Giêsu ban cho các môn đệ của Ngài quyền năng để cầm buộc và tháo gở mà Người đã trao cho Phêrô Và cùng với quyền năng nầy, Chúa Giêsu kêu gọi chúng ta hôm nay hãy tha thứ cho những ai đã phạm tội và đã ăn năn sám hối.Với mệnh lệnh của Ngài, Chúa Giêsu đang củng cố sức mạnh của Kitô Giáo; Lo cho mình thôi chưa đủ, chúng ta còn phải chăm sóc cho anh em mình nữa.

Sự sửa lỗi huynh đệ phải mang tính huynh đệ; riêng tư và kín đáo Mục đích không phải là trừng phạt hay trả thù mà là mong muốn tái hợp những anh chị em sa ngã vào cộng đồng đức tin của chúng ta. Phải mất một thời gian dài nhân loại mới khám phá ra rằng Chúa không phải là kẻ thù của chúng ta, và Ngài thậm chí không phải là kẻ thù của chính kẻ thù của Ngài. Hôm nay chúng ta được mời gọi để nhớ rằng sự tha thứ có hai mặt và cả hai đều phức tạp như nhau. Một mặt, chúng ta được kêu gọi để cầu xin sự tha thứ cho lỗi lầm của mình; mặt khác, noi gương Chúa Kitô, chúng ta phải tha thứ vô điều kiện cho những ai đã xúc phạm đến chúng ta.Nhưng tinh thần tha thứ không có nghĩa là thờ ơ với tội lỗi. Khi người bị xúc phạm đến với người đã xúc phạm mình, thì hạt giống của sự tha thứ đã nảy mầm. Hôm nay chúng ta được mời gọi tham dự vào công cuộc cứu rỗi tha nhân, không phải bằng cách buộc tội hay khiển trách họ mà bằng cách khuyên bảo họ và giúp họ nhận ra lỗi lầm của mình.

Tất cả những ai đang cố gắng giúp đỡ anh em mình được cứu rỗi đều đang noi gương Chúa Kitô Các Giáo phụ coi hành động này là nhân đức lớn nhất của Kitô giáo Dù phải lên án một hành động nhưng chúng ta đừng bao giờ phán xét người đã vi phạm hành động đó, cho dù hành động đó có vô lý đến đâu. Hôm nay, chúng ta hãy thử thách dành cả cuộc đời mình để tha thứ cho tất cả những người đã xúc phạm đến chúng ta, và đừng bao giờ quên cầu xin sự tha thứ vào những dịp chúng ta là người phạm tội. Chúng ta đừng bao giờ cố gắng hạn chế sự tha thứ mà lòng thương xót và ân sủng Thiên Chúa ban tặng. Đừng quên: "Nơi nào có hai hoặc ba người họp lại cùng nhau nhân danhThầy,thì nơi đóThầy ở giữa họ.”
