Carry your own cross and come after me!

To be a Christian disciple required from the early disciples, the same as from us today modern human beings, a predisposition to accept our suffering. It also demands to accept critique, and for some people, to suffer even death. The outcome: Jesus establishes conditions capable of scaring some of us. The Lord asks to resign everything that is temporal, and to strongly stick to what is eternal. To be a Christian disciple, a follower of Jesus, and to imitate Him is costly; in other words, it has a price tag! To carry our own cross means to endure all the prejudice, all the violence, all the misunderstandings around us, all the humiliation, and all rejection. Sometimes, the Christian disciple must be also able to ignore all the apathy of a society indifferent before God's kingdom.

To carry our own cross means to responsibly accept our daily duties. As parents, it means to lovingly care for your children, or to satisfy your family members' needs; even when satisfying those demands will lead you to sacrifice your personal desires. To carry our own cross means for a husband/wife to be forever faithful to your marriage covenant; in the prosperous and the hard times; in sickness and in health. For anyone of us, to carry our own cross means to help those in need.

In other words, to carry our own cross means to accept the life path that the Lord has prepared for us from all eternity; it does not matter if it does not fit with our own desires. To carry our own cross means to humbly face our daily life with love,and always offer the best of ourselves for the benefit of our neighbor Today, let us ask the all-powerful Lord for strength and decision to carry the cross of our daily duties. Let us walk in humility, always trying to enter through the narrow door, the door that undoubtedly leads into divine presence!

Carga tu propia cruz y sígueme

Ser discípulos de Jesucristo demandaba para los primeros cristianos, al igual que para nosotros miembros de esta sociedad moderna, estar abiertos a aceptar el sufrimiento, demanda también el soportar la crítica; y para algunos, sufrir hasta la misma muerte. Moraleja: Jesús pone condiciones que a muchos asustan. El Señor pide renunciar a todo lo que es pasajero, y adherirnos a lo que es eterno. Ser seguidor de Jesús, ser cristiano, seguir el camino, es caro ¡Ser cristiano tiene un precio! Cargar nuestra cruz significa soportar todos los malos entendidos, todos los prejuicios, toda la violencia y la humillación, todo el rechazo; y a veces hasta el desprecio de una sociedad indiferente a las enseñanzas del reino

Cargar nuestra cruz significa aceptar con responsabilidad nuestras tareas diarias, significa, como padres, atender a sus hijos amorosamente, o el sacrificarse por proveer a su familia con lo necesario, aun a costa de su bienestar personal. Cargar nuestra propia cruz significa para un esposo/a el permanecer fiel a su matrimonio, en las buenas y en las malas, en la salud y en la enfermedad. Significa para todos nosotros, el ayudar a quien nos necesita.

En otras palabras, cargar nuestra propia cruz significa aceptar con responsabilidad el plan de vida que el Señor tiene para nosotros, no importa que no esté en línea con nuestros deseos. Cargar nuestra cruz significa enfrentar nuestra vida diaria con amor,ofreciendo siempre el mejor de nuestros esfuerzos en beneficio de los demás Caminemos pues con humildad, a través de la puerta angosta,que con seguridad conduce a su presencia.

Hãy vác thập giá mình và theo Ta!

Làm môn đệ Chúa Giêsu Kitô đòi hỏi các Kitô hữu tiên khởi, cũng như chúng ta, những thành phần của xã hội hiện đại này, phải chấp nhận đau khổ, và cũng đòi phải chịu đựng những lời chỉ trích; và đối với một số người, thậm chí phải chịu cái chết. Kết quả: Chúa Giêsu lập ra các lề luật làm một số chúng ta sợ hãi. Chúa kêu mời chúng ta từ bỏ mọi thứ phù du và gắn bó với những gì vĩnh cửu. Để trở thành một môn đệ Kitô Giáo, một người theo Chúa Giêsu,và theo gương Người thì phải trả giá; nói cách khác, nó có một cái giá phải trả! Để mang thập giá mình có nghĩa là chịu đựng mọi định kiến, mọi bạo lực, mọi sự hiểu lầm chung quanh mình, mọi sỉ nhục, và bị loại trừ. Đôi khi, người môn đệ Kitô Giáo cũng phải có khả năng bỏ qua mọi thờ ơ của một xã hội lạnh lùng để được Vương Quốc Chúa.

Vác thập giá của chính mình có nghĩa là chấp nhận công việc hằng ngày của mình một cách có trách nhiệm. Cha mẹ phải chăm sóc yêu thương con cái mình, hay đáp ứng những nhu cầu cho mỗi người trong gia đình; ngay cả khi đáp ứng những đòi hỏi này sẽ phải hy sinh những ước muốn cá nhân. Để vác thập giá mình có nghĩa là vợ chồng phải luôn trung tín trong giao ước hôn nhân của mình; trong khi thịnh vượng cũng như khó khăn; trong khi đau ốm cũng như khỏe mạnh.

Đối với bất cứ ai trong chúng ta, vác thập giá mình có nghĩa là giúp đỡ những người cần giúp đỡ. Nói cách khác, để vác thập giá mình có nghĩa là chấp nhận một cuộc sống mà Thiên Chúa đã an bài cho chúng ta từ ngàn đời; không thành vấn đề nếu nó không phải là mong ước của chúng ta. Để vác thập giá mình có nghĩa là khiêm tốn đối diện với cuộc sống hằng ngày của mình với yêu thương, và luôn cho đi những điều tốt nhất của mình cho lợi ích của tha nhân. Hôm nay, chúng ta hãy cầu xin Thiên Chúa toàn năng ban cho chúng ta sức mạnh và quyết tâm để vác thập giá hàng ngày của mình. Chúng ta cùng bước đi trong khiêm hạ, luôn cố gắng đi qua cửa hẹp, cánh cửa chắc chắn sẽ dẫn tới sự thánh thiêng!
