BEHOLD, YOUR REWARD WILL BE GREAT IN HEAVEN
Before Jesus preached the Beatitudes into the world, he had already experienced them; they look like His own biography We have two versions of them solidly cemented in the Evangelical Tradition. Mathew and Luke seem to proclaim two different versions of them, with a lot of common elements that indicate a common origin, but at the same time with differences that signal the personal theological interests of the Evangelist, and the variances present in the two communities to whom they were addressed. A serious study of Scripture must certainly consider the whole content of both versions, and not only the parts that fit our own preferences.
On the one hand, St. Mathew wrote for a Jewish community, learned in the prophets, the Mosaic Law, and with a higher understanding of spiritual matters. On the other hand, St. Luke wrote not only for people coming from Judea and Jerusalem, but also for the gentiles coming from Tyre and Sidon. By doing this, St. Luke is showing us an inclusive Jesus, the one who does not need to go up the mountain in order to deliver God's message. St. Luke's Jesus walks among the people, healing the sick, and comforting their afflictions. In St. Luke's teachings about Jesus there is something about Him not only available for the Jewish people, but for all those who decide to follow Him; even His disciples had left everything behind.
St Luke shows us Jesus blessing the poor, in the here and now, always around us. Jesus is seriously concerned about the sorrowful, the abandoned, and the undefendable The Beatitudes preached by Jesus, and their corresponding woes present in Luke, are in a frontal skirmish with “the gospel of prosperity” strongly promoted among many Christian denominations. According to this interpretation, God abundantly blesses with success and material possessions all those who choose to follow Him.The “gospel of prosperity” concept is totally in the wrong, and fully contrary to the authentic Gospel's message. Behold, today's Gospel strongly affirms that disaster is waiting for the comfortable of the world!

CUARTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO 1 DE FEBRERO DE 2026
Aun antes de predicar las Beatitudes al mundo, Jesús mismo las ha experimentado, parecieran ser su misma autobiografía Existen dos versiones sólidamente cimentadas en la Tradición Evangélica. Mateo y Lucas parecen proclamar versiones diferentes, con muchas cosas en común que señalan su mismo origen, pero a la vez con diferencias que marcan tanto el interés teológico de Evangelista, así como las diferencias presentes en las audiencias a quienes fueron dirigidas. Todo estudio serio de la Escritura deberá ciertamente tomar en cuenta la totalidad de ambas versiones, y no solamente lo que mejor nos acomode.
Por un lado, Mateo escribe para una comunidad judía, conocedores de la ley y los profetas, y con una educación espiritual más elevada Por otro lado, Lucas escribe no solo para gente venida de Judea y Jerusalén, sino también para gentiles venidos incluso de Tiro y de Sidón Lucas muestra así al Jesús inclusivo que no necesita subir a la montaña para predicar como en la tradición judía. El Jesús de Lucas camina entre la gente, curando a sus enfermos y sanando sus aflicciones. El Jesús de Lucas tiene algo para todo aquel que decide seguirlo, y no solo para los judíos; aun sus discípulos lo han dejado todo por seguirlo a Él.

Trước khi Chúa Giê-su rao giảng Các Mối Phúc Thật cho thế gian, chính Ngài đã trải nghiệm Các Mối Phúc đó rồi; chúng giống như là một cuốn tự truyện của chính Ngài. Có hai phiên bản của Các Mối Phúc Thật dựa trên nền tảng vững chắc trong Truyền Thống Tin Mừng. Matthêu và Luca dường như công bố hai phiên bản khác nhau, với rất nhiều điểm chung cho thấy từ một nguồn gốc của chúng, nhưng đồng thời cũng có vài khác biệt cho thấy mối quan tâm về thần học riêng của Người Rao Giảng Phúc Âm, và những khác biệt trong hai cộng đồng mà chúng đã được đề cập đến. BISHOP CANTÚ ON THE JOURNEY OF SPIRITUAL RENEWAL
Amidst the rush and noise of life, it is hard to pause and reflect on what is spiritual and what renewal in our faith means or 'looks' like. You might ask, after having been baptized into God's family and regularly participating in the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation, why do I even need spiritual renewal? What does spiritual renewal have to do with the pastoral plan?
Journeying in Faith as in Nature
Let us observe God's sacred creation. Consider a fruit tree, for example, particularly here in the Valley of the Heart's Delight. Once planted, the tree embarks on a journey of growth, stretching its branches high, offering its shade below, and, in due time, bearing delicious fruit. Yet, a fruit tree, deeply planted in the ground, embraces the cycle of seasonal renewal where, at the appointed time, it ceases to produce fruit and sheds its leaves.Then, while the tree seems dormant, something is happening internally. Being nourished by water and proper nutrients through its root system and catalyzed by appropriate sunlight, the tree prepares for the proper time to bud forth new foliage and new fruit. Similarly, we, as Christians, firmly planted in Christ, are on a journey of spiritual renewal.Various seasons of our lives offer opportunities to reflect and grow, to draw closer to Christ, and to produce spiritual and pastoral fruit. Liturgically, the present season of Advent offers us a few short weeks to anticipate the Lord's birth,his “budding forth,” if you will,into the world.This liturgical and internal process of anticipation allows us the opportunity for spiritual renewal. But what does spiritual renewal look like?
ExternalSigns of Internal Renewal
The deepest stirrings of the human heart are known only to God and sometimes to the individual if we are attuned to our interior life. However, spiritual renewal leaves “footprints” – visible, tangible signs. Thus, on an individual basis, these external signs of spiritual renewal are called the Fruits of the Holy Spirit: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity.When these virtues shine within us or others, we can be confident that the Holy Spirit is actively working in our hearts,souls,and lives.
On a communal level, our spiritual renewal as a church becomes palpable when we come together in prayer, in adoration, in acts of charity, or in the sacred celebration of sacraments. Some of the many signs of communal spiritual renewal are increased interest in prayer groups, more prayerful visits to the Blessed Sacrament, increased active and conscious participation in the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, increased outreach to the poor and marginalized, and increased vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life – to name just a few.
EL SEÑOR OBISPO CANTÚ EN EL CAMINO DE LA RENOVACIÓN ESPIRITUAL
En medio de la prisa y el ruido de la vida, es difícil hacer una pausa y reflexionar sobre lo que es espiritual y lo que significa o “parece” la renovación en nuestra fe. Se preguntarán, después de haber sido bautizado en la familia de Dios y participar regularmente en los Sacramentos de la Eucaristía y la Reconciliación, ¿por qué necesito una renovación espiritual? ¿Qué tiene que ver la renovación espiritual con el plan pastoral?
Caminar en la fe como en la naturaleza

A nivel comunitario, nuestra renovación espiritual como iglesia se hace palpable cuando nos reunimos en oración, en adoración, en actos de caridad o en la celebración sagrada de los sacramentos. Algunos de los muchos signos de renovación espiritual comunitaria son un mayor interés en los grupos de oración, más visitas de oración al Santísimo Sacramento, una mayor participación consciente en los Sacramentos de la Reconciliación y la Eucaristía, un mayor alcance a los pobres y marginados, y un aumento de las vocaciones al sacerdocio y a la vida consagrada, por nombrar solo algunos.

Sau khi cây trụi lá, nó nầy sinh những cành lá mới và sinh trái trong tương lai, nếu nó được có đủ mưa và nắng để vươn lên.
Chúng ta cũng thế, người Kitô hữu được trồng vững chắc trong Đức Ki-tô, bước đi trong cuộc hành trình canh tân đời sống thiêng liêng. Qua mỗi mùa trong cuộc đời, chúng ta có những cơ hội để lớn lên và ngày càng sống gần gũi với Đức Ki-tô, và sinh hoa trái thiêng liêng. Nhưng canh tân đời sống thiêng liêng nghĩa là gì?
Những Dấu Chỉ Bên Ngoài của Việc Canh Tân Nội Tại
Sự thao thức trong tâm hồn của mỗi người chỉ có Chúa biết.Tuy nhiên, việc canh tân đời sống thiêng
liêng đưa đến những dấu hiệu – có thể nhìn thấy và cảm nhận được. Do đó, về phương diện cá nhân, những dấu hiệu bên ngoài của sự canh tân đời sống thiêng liêng được gọi là Hoa trái của Chúa Thánh Thần: lòng nhân ái, sự hân hoan, bình an, nhẫn nại, từ tâm, quảng đại, dịu dàng, trung tín, khiêm nhu, tự chủ, và trong sạch. Khi những nhân đức này lộ ra nơi mỗi người hay nơi những người khác, chúng ta có thể đoan chắc rằng Chúa Thánh Thần tác động trong lòng chúng ta, trong trái tim và trong cuộc sống của chúng ta.
Khi một cộng đồng đức tin trở nên sống động, việc canh tân đời sống thiêng liêng của chúng ta trở nên rõ ràng trong khi chúng ta cùng nhau cầu nguyện, cùng nhau thờ phượng, tham gia các công tác bác ái, hay tham dự các bí tích. Điều này có thể nhận ra được qua sự tham gia các nhóm cầu nguyện, tham dự và cầu nguyện trước Thánh Thể, sốt sắng đi xưng tội và tham dự Thánh lễ, tham gia công tác giúp đỡ người nghèo và những người sống bên lề xã hội, ơn gọi gia tăng nơi những người muốn làm linh mục và tu sĩ – và rất nhiều những dấu chỉ khác.
