IMPORTANT GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS TO ATTEND MASS:

DIRECTRICES Y PROTOCOLOS IMPORTANTES PARA ASISTIR A MISA

According to the Santa Clara County guidelines.

Effecive Tuesday, November 17th, all indoor Masses and worship services will be moved outdoor. We will also continue to livestream Masses for those who prefer to stay at home.

Please help us to keep the safety and health of all who attend Mass by observing the established safety protocols: • Bring your mask, wash your hands – No mask, no mass.

• Come at least 15 minutes early.

• Ushers will direct you to your seat.

• Please observe 6 feet social distancing at all times.

• Use your mask at all times throughout the duration of Mass.

• Stay at your designated space throughout the duration of Mass.

• Receive Communion in your hand, with mask on, then step aside remove your mask and use your free hand to place the Host in your mouth and put your mask back on.

• Collection baskets will not be passed but placed at entrance and exit for your offertory.

• Please do not stay after mass to allow us to disinfect all chairs, and other contact points before the next mass.

8. Holy Gospel “What have you to do with us,

Fourth Sunday of the Ordinary Time

Jesus of Nazareth?”

Today’s Gospel’s passage affirms that on the Sabbath, Jesus went to the synagogue. To go to the synagogue on Sabbath, to pray with the psalms, was part of the Jewish tradition in which Jesus was incarnate and lived among us. Jesus was a Jew, Mary and Joseph were also devout Jews. But there is an important element in Jesus’ visit to the synagogue.

He went to teach, and He did not teach as the scribes; Jesus taught them as having authority. Jesus words were simple, but powerful. His power had its origin from whom He was. What Jesus offered occurred immediately, as in the history of creation where God said: “Let there be light,” and light became without any further meditation, charm, or any special recipe to be followed.

We live in a world unable to fulfill our deeper longings. Our daily routine is a constant struggle between good and evil, between our imperfect nature with all our weaknesses, and our desires for permanent happiness. We need to remember that Jesus will be always by our side in order to help us overcome any difficulty. His mission includes destroying everything that is wrong and opposes God’s kingdom; it includes replacing corrupt human values with those coming from above; it also includes transforming the whole human race on a continuous basis, and to lead us always into God’s kingdom.

Today, let us open the door of our hearts and allow Jesus to clean all the wrong contained in our hearts. What surprised people that day was not the presence of the unclean spirit, but Jesus authority over it. Let us take the invitation to appropriate Jesus’ authority that the Gospel passage emphasizes today; authority to teach, and to triumph over sin and evil. Let us deploy Jesus authority in our daily routines without never forgetting that: Jesus’ authority does not condemn, or excommunicate, but pardons. Jesus’ authority includes all the excluded, sinners, the one with leprosy, the impure, all men, all women, all children, the elderly, the foreign, the poor, the Samaritan. Jesus’ authority does not look into the past, but to the present, and to the future that pertains only to God. Jesus’ authority consists of the prophetic word that always denounces injustice, and stresses compassion and love.

El Evangelio afirma hoy que Jesús fue el sábado a la sinagoga. Ir a la sinagoga el sábado, rezar con los Salmos era la tradición judía en donde el hijo de Dios se encarnó y vivió entre nosotros. Jesús era judío; José y María lo eran también. Pero hay un elemento adicional en el pasaje, Jesús fue a ensenar en la sinagoga, y no ensenaba como los escribas o los fariseos; Jesús ensenaba con autoridad. Jesús habla palabras simples, pero con autoridad. Su poder se origina de quien es El. Lo que Jesús ofrece ocurre inmediatamente, como en la historia de la creación cuando Dios dijo: “Que haya luz!” y la luz de hizo sin requerir meditación, encanto, o alguna receta especial para ser ejecutada.

Vivimos en un mundo que no es capaz de satisfacer los deseos más profundos del corazón. Nuestras vidas transcurren en una constante batalla entre el bien y el mal, entre nuestra naturaleza imperfecta con todos sus hierros, y nuestros deseos por ser alcanzar la felicidad. Jesús está constantemente a nuestro lado, ofreciéndonos incondicionalmente su ayuda para sobreponernos a cualquier dificultad. Su misión incluye el destruir todo lo que es equivocado y opuesto al reino de Dios; reemplazar los valores humanos corrompidos con aquellos que provienen de Dios; transformar a la humanidad continuamente, y conducirnos siempre hacia el reino de los cielos.

Dejemos que Jesús entre hoy y limpie en nosotros todo lo que es equivocado. Lo que sorprendió a la gente aquel día no fue la presencia del endemoniado o poseído. Lo que sorprendió a la gente fue la autoridad de Jesús. Hagamos nuestra hoy la autoridad de Jesús que el Evangelio hoy enfatiza, autoridad para ensenar, y vencer al mal. Imitemos en nuestras vidas diarias el uso de esta autoridad divina. Recordemos siempre que: La autoridad de Jesús no condena o excomulga, sino que perdona.

La autoridad de Jesús incluye a todos los excluidos, pecadores, leprosos, impuros, hombres, mujeres, niños, jóvenes, ancianos, extranjeros, pobres y samaritanos. La autoridad de Jesús no mira al pasado, sino al presente, y al futuro que le pertenece solo a Dios. La autoridad de Jesús consiste de la palabra profética que denuncia la injusticia, y resalta la compasión y el amor.

10. Vietnamese TRANG TIẾNG VIỆT CHÚA NHẬT THỨ IV MÙA THƯỜNG NIÊN Ngày 31 Tháng 1 Năm 2021 Cầu nguyện theo ý Đức Thánh Cha Ý chung: Bạo hành phụ nữ.

Chúng ta hãy cầu nguyện cho các phụ nữ là nạn nhân của bạo hành, để họ được xã hội bảo vệ, và nỗi đau khổ của họ được xem xét và lắng nghe HƯỚNG DẪN QUAN TRỌNG KHI THAM DỰ THÁNH LỄ Chúng ta không được cử hành Thánh lễ bên trong Nhà thờ kể từ Thứ Ba ngày 17 tháng 11 năm 2020. Thánh lễ sẽ cử hành ngoài trời, mỗi thánh lễ tối đa 100 người được phép tham dự.

Chúng ta cũng sẽ tiếp tục có Thánh lễ trực tuyến cho những ai không thể đến nhà thờ.

• Giáo dân có bất kỳ bệnh mãn tính có nguy cơ lây nhiễm cao xin yêu cầu ở nhà.

• Nếu bạn bị ho dai dẳng hoặc có nhiệt độ cao, vui lòng ở nhà.

• Xin ra về ngay sau thánh lễ để chúng tôi khử trùng tất cả các ghế, tay nắm cửa, và các điểm tiếp xúc khác cho kịp thánh lễ tiếp theo.

• Giáo dân cao niên, tất cả những người từ 65 tuổi trở lên, được yêu cầu ở nhà.

“Hỡi ông Giêsu Nadarét, có chuyện gì giữa chúng tôi và ông? Đoạn Tin Mừng hôm nay xác định rằng vào ngày Sa-bát, Chúa Giê-su đi đến hội đường. Đi đến hội đường vào ngày Sabát, để cầu nguyện với các bài thánh vịnh, là một phần của truyền thống Do Thái, trong đó Chúa Giêsu đã nhập thể và sống giữa chúng ta. Chúa Giê-su là người Do Thái, Mẹ Maria và Thánh Giuse cũng là những người Do Thái sùng đạo. Nhưng có một yếu tố quan trọng trong chuyến viếng thăm của Chúa Giê-su tại hội đường. Kinh nguyện 40 năm thành lập Giáo phận San Jose Lạy Thiên Chúa hằng sống và trung thành, tạ ơn Cha đồng hành với chúng con, đoàn dân Cha trong Giáo phận San Jose.

Xin cho Hội thánh nơi đây tràn đầy Thánh Thần, để những nỗ lực vì lòng Tin và lòng Mến đưa tha nhân đến cùng Chúa Giêsu, Con Cha, và sự bền chí trong niềm Vui và Hy vọng đỡ nâng những ai mệt mỏi vì sự bấp bênh.

Cùng với Thánh Giuse và Thánh Clara, chớ gì chúng con “Đồng hành trong Hy vọng,” và ngày ngày được thu hút đến gần Con Cha, là Ánh sáng, Hy vọng, và ơn Cứu độ chúng con, Đấng hằng sống, hằng trị cùng Cha, và Chúa Thánh Thần đến muôn ngàn đời.

Ever-living and faithful God, we give you thanks for walking with us, your people of this Diocese of San José Pour forth your Spirit on this local Church, that our works of Faith and labors of Love may lead others to Jesus, your Son, and that our endurance in Joy and Hope may lift up those weary from uncertainty.

Accompanied by Saint Joseph and Saint Clare, may we continue “Journeying Together in Hope” and day by day be drawn closer to your Son, our Light, ourHope, and our Salvati on, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Dios eterno y - el, Te damos gracias por caminar junto a Tu pueblo, de la Diócesis de San José.

Derrama tu Espíritu sobre nuestra Iglesia local, que nuestras obras de Fe y de amor lleven a otros hacia Jesús, tu Hijo, y que nuestra alegre y esperanzadora constancia levante a los cansados por la incertidumbre.
