IMPORTANT GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS TO ATTEND MASS:

DIRECTRICES Y PROTOCOLOS IMPORTANTES PARA ASISTIR A MISA

According to the Santa Clara County guidelines.

Effecive Tuesday, November 17th, all indoor Masses and worship services will be moved outdoor. We will also continue to livestream Masses for those who prefer to stay at home.

Please help us to keep the safety and health of all who attend Mass by observing the established safety protocols: • Bring your mask, wash your hands – No mask, no mass.

• Come at least 15 minutes early.

• Ushers will direct you to your seat.

• Please observe 6 feet social distancing at all times.

• Use your mask at all times throughout the duration of Mass.

• Stay at your designated space throughout the duration of Mass.

• Receive Communion in your hand, with mask on, then step aside remove your mask and use your free hand to place the Host in your mouth and put your mask back on.

• Collection baskets will not be passed but placed at entrance and exit for your offertory.

• Please do not stay after mass to allow us to disinfect all chairs, and other contact points before the next mass.

Second Sunday of Lent

Dazzling White.

In today’s gospel, Jesus invited Peter, James, and John, for a prayer session on the mountain.

These three disciples were the inner circle around Jesus, the ones invited to share more closely with Him. The disciples’ morale was at a low point. They came from hearing: “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”

Many doubts were in their minds. Was Jesus really the expected Messiah? Was He really the anointed one of God who is to come? Should we support Him? Or, should we retreat before it is too late? How often do we experience absurdities in our lives that fill our hearts and our minds with anguish and doubts, strong enough to lead us to ask: where is God in our world? In our lives? In our families?

What about people who have experienced abuse, injustice, or discrimination? Where is God when we see people advancing in society through unfair means? How can we explain terminal illness, or the breakdown of a relationship between husband and wife?

Between parent and child? Between friends?

In today’s readings, there is an answer to all these questions. At times like these, we need to go up the mountain of prayer, and ask God to open our eyes that we may see. Jesus is the light that reveals to us the way to walk with our daily crosses following Him. It is only by His side that we will have the courage needed to overcome the apparently meaningless suffering of this life.

En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús invitó a Pedro, Santiago, su círculo íntimo de discípulos, aquellos privilegiados testigos de los momentos más importantes del ministerio de Jesús. La manifestación divina en la Transfiguración de Jesús es importante porque ocurre en un momento definitivo para Jesús, y donde la moral de los discípulos se encuentra en un punto bajo.

Ellos vienen de oír “El hijo del hombre deberá sufrir, será rechazado por los ancianos, por los sacerdotes y los escribas, morirá, y resucitará al tercer día.”

Los discípulos dudan. ¿Será Jesús el Mesías que esperaban? ¿Sería El, el elegido de Dios que habría de venir? ¿Deberían de estar a su lado? O ¿deberían alejarse antes de que fuera demasiado tarde? ¿Cuán a menudo pasamos por situaciones difíciles que generan angustia, o incertidumbre, lo suficientemente fuertes para llegar a cuestionarnos: ¿Dónde está Dios en nuestras vidas? ¿En nuestras familias? ¿En el mundo?

En el pasaje de la Transfiguración hay una respuesta a todas nuestras angustias. Cuando pasemos por etapas en nuestras vidas donde parece no haber esperanza, ascendamos a la montaña de la oración, y pidamos al Señor que abra nuestros ojos para poder descubrir que Jesús es la luz que revela el camino para seguirlo a Él cargando nuestra cruz de cada día. Porque es solo a su lado que podremos tener el coraje suficiente para sobreponernos a cualquier sufrimiento en nuestras vidas.

Xin Chúa ban cho chúng ta đổi mới một cách sâu xa việc lãnh nhận bí tích Hòa giải, để lãnh nhận trọn vẹn lòng Chúa xót thương.

HƯỚNG DẪN QUAN TRỌNG KHI THAM DỰ THÁNH LỄ Chúng ta không được cử hành Thánh lễ bên trong Nhà thờ kể từ Thứ Ba ngày 17 tháng 11 năm 2020. Thánh lễ sẽ cử hành ngoài trời, mỗi thánh lễ tối đa 100 người được phép tham dự.

Chúng ta cũng sẽ tiếp tục có Thánh lễ trực tuyến cho những ai không thể đến nhà thờ.

• Giáo dân có bất kỳ bệnh mãn tính có nguy cơ lây nhiễm cao xin yêu cầu ở nhà.

• Nếu bạn bị ho dai dẳng hoặc có nhiệt độ cao, vui lòng ở nhà.

• Các gia đình có con nhỏ (trẻ sơ sinh, trẻ mới biết đi và trẻ có nguy cơ dễ bị tổn thương) yêu cầu ở nhà.

• Xin ra về ngay sau thánh lễ để chúng tôi khử trùng tất cả các ghế, tay nắm cửa, và các điểm tiếp xúc khác cho kịp thánh lễ tiếp theo.

• Giáo dân cao niên, tất cả những người từ 65 tuổi trở lên, được yêu cầu ở nhà.

Đóng Góp và hỗ trợ Giáo xứ Xin cám ơn qúy ông bà và anh chị em vẫn tiếp tục đóng góp ủng hộ Giáo Xứ trong thời điểm khó khăn nầy.

Y Phục của Người trở nên chói lọi, trắng tinh như tuyết.

Phúc âm hôm nay, kể lại việc Chúa Giêsu đã đưa Phêrô, Giacôbê, và Gioan lên núi cầu nguyện. Ba môn đệ thân tín này được Chúa Giêsu mời gọi chia sẻ gần gũi với Ngài hơn.

Nhưng lúc ấy, lòng trí của các ông còn rất hoang mang. Các ông không thể hiểu nổi điều tiên báo của Đức Giêsu: “Con Người phải chịu đau khổ nhiều, và bị các trưởng lão, tư tế, và luật sĩ chối bỏ, bị giết, và vào ngày thứ ba sẽ sống lại.”

Nhiều mối nghi ngờ đã lóe lên trong tâm trí các ông. Chúa Giêsu có thực sự là Đấng cứu thế được mong đợi không? Có phải Ngài thực sự là Đấng Thiên sai? Các ông có nên ủng hộ Ngài không? Hoặc, các ông nên rút lui trước khi quá muộn? Chúng ta thường nhận thấy những điều phi lý trong cuộc sống lấp đầy trái tim và tâm trí của chúng ta với nỗi thống khổ và nghi ngờ, đủ mạnh mẽ để dẫn chúng ta tự hỏi: Thiên Chúa ở đâu trong thế giới ngày nay? Trong cuộc sống, Và trong gia đình của chúng ta?

Còn những người đã từng bị lạm dụng, bị đối xử bất công hoặc phân biệt đối xử thì sao? Thiên Chúa ở đâu khi chúng ta thấy mọi người tiến thân trong một xã hội tận dụng các phương tiện bất công? Làm thế nào chúng ta có thể giải thích bệnh nan y đang tự do hoành hành, hoặc sự tan vỡ của mối quan hệ giữa vợ chồng? Giữa mẹ cha và các con?

Giữa bạn bè với nhau?

Trong bài Phúc Âm hôm nay, có một câu trả lời cho tất cả những vấn nạn trên đây đó là vào những lúc tuyệt vọng, chúng ta cần phải lên núi cầu nguyện, xin Chúa mở mắt cho chúng ta nhận ra Chúa Giêsu là ánh sáng soi dẫn cho thấy con đường vác thập giá hàng ngày theo Ngài là giải pháp trọn hảo. Chỉ có ở bên cạnh Ngài, chúng ta mới có đủ can đảm để vượt qua những đau khổ dường như vô nghĩa của cuộc sống này.

Kinh nguyện 40 năm thành lập Giáo phận San Jose Lạy Thiên Chúa hằng sống và trung thành, tạ ơn Cha đồng hành với chúng con, đoàn dân Cha trong Giáo phận San Jose.

Xin cho Hội thánh nơi đây tràn đầy Thánh Thần, để những nỗ lực vì lòng Tin và lòng Mến đưa tha nhân đến cùng Chúa Giêsu, Con Cha, và sự bền chí trong niềm Vui và Hy vọng đỡ nâng những ai mệt mỏi vì sự bấp bênh.

Cùng với Thánh Giuse và Thánh Clara, chớ gì chúng con “Đồng hành trong Hy vọng,” và ngày ngày được thu hút đến gần Con Cha, là Ánh sáng, Hy vọng, và ơn Cứu độ chúng con, Đấng hằng sống, hằng trị cùng Cha, và Chúa Thánh Thần đến muôn ngàn đời.

Amen.

Chương trình Giáo phận Quyên góp Thường niên ADA là một chiến dịch hằng năm của Giáo phận San Jose nhằm hỗ trợ các mục vụ và dịch vụ phục vụ tất cả các giáo xứ và cộng đồng địa phương. ADA cũng là cơ hội để các giáo xứ gây quỹ cho giáo xứ qua khoản ti ền hoàn trả trên chỉ tiêu.

Ever-living and faithful God, we give you thanks for walking with us, your people of this Diocese of San José Pour forth your Spirit on this local Church, that our works of Faith and labors of Love may lead others to Jesus, your Son, and that our endurance in Joy and Hope may lift up those weary from uncertainty.

Accompanied by Saint Joseph and Saint Clare, may we continue “Journeying Together in Hope” and day by day be drawn closer to your Son, our Light, ourHope, and our Salvati on, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Dios eterno y - el, Te damos gracias por caminar junto a Tu pueblo, de la Diócesis de San José.

Derrama tu Espíritu sobre nuestra Iglesia local, que nuestras obras de Fe y de amor lleven a otros hacia Jesús, tu Hijo, y que nuestra alegre y esperanzadora constancia levante a los cansados por la incertidumbre.

Unidos a San José y a Santa Clara, continuamos “Caminando Juntos con Esperanza,” y día a día nos acercamos mas a Tu Hijo, nuestra Luz, nuestra Esperanza, y nuestra Salvación, El que vive y reina contigo y con el Espíritu Santo por los siglos de los siglos.
