Joseph, Son of David, don’t be afraid.
We do not know much about Joseph, but St. Matthew presents him playing a protagonist role during Jesus’ infancy narratives. According to the Gospel, Joseph is a just man. “Joseph, do not be afraid” was the message that God’s angel delivered to Joseph in a dream. It is the strong affirmation of certainty and trust that the Lord delivers through the whole Scripture.
Once Joseph arose from his sleep, he had to make difficult decisions. Would he trust in the Lord and believe that his dream had not been just a fantasy? Would he accept that his marriage covenant go on despite the introduction of a creature that was not his? Would the new creature live alone along with his mom, or would he grow up in an established home protected by his solid parents? Suddenly, everything was depending on his decision of offering obedience to the divine plan. Suddenly, Joseph discovered that the Lord had trusted Him the entirety of His mystery.
And Joseph decided to deposit all his doubts in God’s hands, the real commander of the whole story. Joseph decided to do what the angel had instructed him. He decided to get married to Mary, and to give his name to the child, an action that will witness from the beginning the nature of his mission. Jesus will become the savior of the world thanks to Joseph’s decision. From now on, Mary and Joseph will share the joy of giving a “yes” to the Lord.
Joseph’s acceptance had become, along with the power of the Holy Spirit and Mary’s unconditional “yes,” the third component that solidified Jesus’ humanity. Jesus was the Son of God by the power of the Holy Spirit; son of Mary because of her unconditional “yes;” and from now on, and through Joseph’s legal paternity, Jesus would become the son of David. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Hijo de David, no tengas miedo.
Sabemos muy poco acerca de José, pero San Mateo lo presenta en un papel protagónico durante las narrativas de la infancia de Jesús. José, dice el evangelio, es un hombre justo. “No tengas miedo” es el mensaje que el ángel entrega a José al inicio de su sueño. Es el mismo mensaje de certeza y confianza que es también entregado a través de toda la historia de salvación.
Cuando José despertó de su sueño, tuvo que tomar decisiones difíciles. ¿Debería confiar en Dios y creer que su sueño era más que una simple fantasía? ¿Debería aceptar que su matrimonio siguiera adelante a pesar de que se interponía una creatura que no era suya? ¿Debería esa creatura vivir sola con su madre, o disfrutar de la solides de una pareja comprometida? De repente todo dependía de su obediencia al plan divino, el Señor le había confiado ahora a él la totalidad de su misterio.
José deposita todas las dudas que lo afligen en manos de Dios, el único director de toda esta historia. José decide hacer lo que le había mandado el ángel del señor, decide tomar a María como su esposa, y nombrar al niño, Jesús, en una acción que testifica desde el principio la naturaleza de su misión; Jesús será el salvador de la humanidad. A partir de ahora, José y María compartirían la extraordinaria satisfacción de haber dicho “si” al Señor.
La aceptación de José se vuelve, junto con el poder del espíritu santo y el “si” incondicional de María, en el tercer elemento que solidifica la humanidad de Jesús. Jesús era Hijo de Dios por la acción del Espíritu Santo, hijo de María por su “si” incondicional al Señor, y ahora, a través de la paternidad legal de José, Jesús se convierte en hijo de David. ¡Aleluya, Aleluya, Aleluya!
Recemos para que las organizaciones de voluntariado y de promoción humana encuentren personas que estén deseosas de comprometerse con el bien común y buscar nuevas vías de colaboración.

Giuse, con vua David, đừng sợ.
Chúng ta biết rất ít về Thánh Giuse, nhưng thánh Matthêu đã giới thiệu ngài với vai trò hàng đầu trong các câu chuyện về thời thơ ấu của Chúa Giêsu. Theo Phúc Âm, Giuse chỉ là một người bình thường. “Giuse, đừng sợ” ấy là thông điệp thiên thần Chúa loan báo cho ông trong giấc mơ. lại là một sự kiện trọng đại và bảo đảm được truyền dạy trong suốt lịch sử cứu độ. Khi Giuse thức giấc, chính là lúc Người phải đối diện với một quyết định hết sức khó khăn. Liệu Người có nên tin vào Chúa và có nên tin rằng giấc mơ vừa rồi không chỉ là một sự mộng mị? Liệu Người nên chấp nhận cuộc hôn nhân ấy bất k ể bào thai kia không phải là của mình? Liệu có nên để cho đứa trẻ ấy sống riêng với mẹ nó hoặc có nên để nó được sống trong một gia đình với sự bảo bọc của người cha như Ngài? Tuy nhiên, việc đó lệ thuộc vào quyết định của Ngài thuận theo ý Chúa. Bỗng nhiên, thánh Giuse nhận ra rằng giờ đây Thiên Chúa đã ủy thác cho ngài toàn bộ mầu nhiệm của Người. Và Giuse đã quyết định đặt hết mọi nghi nan trong tay Chúa, Đấng làm chủ hết mọi việc. Thánh Giuse đã quyết định làm theo những gì thiên thần đã báo cho. Ngài quyết định kết hôn với Maria, và đã đặt tên cho con trẻ là Giêsu, một hành động được chứng tỏ ngay từ ban đầu về sứ mạng của Ngài. Chúa Giêsu sẽ trở nên đấng cứu thế cho cả nhân loại, xin đa tạ quyết định nầy của thánh Giuse. Từ lúc ấy Maria và Giuse sẽ chia sẻ niềm vui “xin vâng” cùng Chúa. Cùng với sức mạnh của Chúa Thánh Thần và lời “xin vâng” vô điều kiện của Đức Maria, sự ưng thuận của thánh Giuse trở thành yếu tố thứ ba củng cố nh ân tính của Chúa Giêsu. Chương trình Chúa Giêsu nhập thể. Chúa Giêsu là con Thiên Chúa, bởi phép chúa Thánh Thần; là con của Đức Maria do lời “xin vâng” vô điều kiện của Mẹ; và từ đây qua tư cách là cha hợp pháp của thánh Giuse, Chúa Giêsu trở nên con vua David. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Chúa Giêsu là Con Thiên Chúa do tác động của Chúa Thánh Thần, là con của Mẹ Maria qua lời thưa “xin vâng” vô điều kiện của Mẹ, và giờ đây, qua tư cách làm cha hợp pháp của thánh Giuse, Chúa Giêsu trở thành con vua Đavít.

Saint Vincent De Paul Christmas Gift for Children
St. Vincent De Paul of CTK would like to thank you all for your generous donation and support this past Thanksgiving . We were able to help 75 families with Target or Food Max Gift Cards.
Now Christmas is almost here. We would like to see if you can again help us to give a gift to a child. In the past we used a Christmas tree but now we are just asking for donations of $25.00 Target Gift Cards or just Cash.
Donations can be turned into the Church Office before the 15th of December 2022.
