Saint Vincent de Paul: Recently, we helped twelve families stay in their homes, and helped seven families with PG&E bills, so they had heat this winter. We also helped with DMV fees, storage fees, and work permits. On the weekend of April 29-30, the second collection will be for community outreach Saint Vincent de paul. We hope that you will be very generous in your giving, so that we may continue to help those in need.

The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.
Today’s gospel proclaims how Jesus sent out his disciples to preach the good news, in a similar way to how Moses had chosen seventy men from among the elders of Israel to serve the Jewish people. In our modern church, we can distinguish two different groups of people who are sent. On the one hand we have the clerics, the ordained ministers of the church who are called to serve their whole life in the building of God’s kingdom. Today I am becoming a witness to this fact. Three years ago, I arrived among you as the one sent to serve this Christ the King parish community. On the other hand, we have the lay people, who by virtue of their own baptism are called to evangelize the world through the works of their daily life.
All those who accept God’s call are invited to bring their weaknesses, along with a humble spirit, and to be always open to accept the challenges, and the changing situations that they will continually face. The recompense will surely arrive as soon as we discover how God’s power easily transforms situations where there is no hope, through His divine power, unchained by our very limited actions; once we decide to put our imperfect efforts in the hands of the one who has sent us as a helpful hand for all those in need.
Today, I humbly ask the Lord of the harvest for His strength and His light in order to be able to work in His vineyard. That we never boast except in the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Oremos para que la comunidad internacional se comprometa concretamente en la abolición de la tortura, garantizando el apoyo a las víctimas y sus familias.
En Evangelio proclama el día de hoy como Jesús envía a sus discípulos, en una manera similar a como Moisés había escogido setenta ancianos de Israel para ayudarle a servir al pueblo judío. En nuestra Iglesia moderna, distinguimos dos grupos de enviados. Por un lado, los clérigos, los ministros ordenados de la iglesia que son llamados a dedicar su vida completa a la construcción del reino de Dios. Yo mismo soy un ejemplo de este hecho; llegué aquí con ustedes hace cuatro años como el enviado que viene a servir esta comunidad parroquial de Cristo Rey. Por otro lado, los laicos, llamados por virtud de su bautismo son enviados a evangelizar al mundo a través de sus acciones en su vida cotidiana.
Aquellos que aceptan el llamado son invitados a traer consigo un espíritu de humildad, de vulnerabilidad, un espíritu abierto capaz de adaptarse al reto, y a las situaciones cambiantes que continuamente se presentan. La recompensa a este duro trabajo viene cuando el evangelizador descubre cómo el poder de Dios es capaz de transformar situaciones sin esperanza; la recompensa viene cuando reconocemos la fuente del poder divino que se desencadena a través de nuestras limitadas acciones; cuando nos ponemos nosotros mismos en las manos de aquel que nos ha enviado como ayuda para la más necesitada de sus creaturas.
Humildemente pido hoy al dueño de la mies su luz y fortaleza para responder positivamente a su invitación de trabajar en esta su viña. Que no tengamos, como dice el Apóstol en la segunda lectura, otra cosa de la cual gloriarnos que no sea la cruz de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

LÚA CHÍN ĐẦY ĐỒNG MÀ THIẾU THỢ GẶT
Tin Mừng hôm nay công bố việc Chúa Giêsu đã sai các môn đệ đi rao giảng Tin mừng, tương tự như Môi-sen đã chọn bảy mươi người trong số các trưởng lão của Israel để phục vụ dân Do Thái.
Trong giáo hội hiện đại của chúng ta, chúng ta có thể nhận ra hai nhóm người khác nhau được sai đi. Một mặt chúng ta có các giáo sĩ, những linh mục của giáo hội được kêu gọi dâng hiến cả cuộc đời của mình để phục vụ trong việc xây dựng vương quốc của Thiên Chúa. Sự bù đắp chắc chắn sẽ đến ngay khi chúng ta nhận ra được quyền năng của Chúa dễ dàng biến đổi những tình huống không có hy vọng, thông qua quyền năng vô biên của Ngài, không bị ảnh hưởng bởi những khả năng rất hạn chế của chúng ta; một khi chúng ta quyết định đặt những nỗ lực không hoàn hảo của mình vào tay của Đấng đã sai phái chúng ta như một bàn tay hữu ích để giúp cho tất cả những người cần chúng ta.
