Saint Vincent de Paul: Recently, we helped twelve families stay in their homes, and helped seven families with PG&E bills, so they had heat this winter. We also helped with DMV fees, storage fees, and work permits. On the weekend of April 29-30, the second collection will be for community outreach Saint Vincent de paul. We hope that you will be very generous in your giving, so that we may continue to help those in need.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is equaling Himself with the Father, and if it is still not enough, He added: “I am in the Father, and the Father is in me.” In other words, the Father looks like Jesus, and the Father behaves like Jesus. In addition to these powerful words, the Gospel passage still delivers what is maybe one of the more eloquent and consoling ideas about Jesus’ identity and mission. In the passage, and as an answer to Thomas’ questioning, Jesus affirms today “I am the way and the truth and the life!”
Through centuries of human history, a few wise men claimed to have found a way, a light to lead their way. Moses, Buda, Mahomed, Gandhi for example. But what makes Jesus’ claim so radical is its fundamental difference with all others. It is not that He found a way; it is not that He found the truth; it is not that He had discovered the fountain of life. Jesus’ fundamental claim is represented by the fact that HE IS the way that will certainly lead us to the Father; the fact that HE IS the absolute truth that does not change with fashion or human progress; the fact that HE IS our only source of true and everlasting life.
At the altar of the sacrifice, the place where the way, the truth, and the life are offered for us in the Eucharist, let us ask the Lord for the wisdom to transform Jesus teachings into the works of our daily lives. Let us humbly ask the Lord to increase our faith to a point where we do not need to see miracles to believe that He really is the Son of God. Like the apostle affirms: “It is not me who abides in me, but Christ who is in me!” Today let us humbly accept the demolishing truth that Jesus is “the way, and the truth, and the life!”

Por los movimientos y grupos eclesiales Oremos para que los movimientos y grupos eclesiales redescubran cada día su misión evangelizadora, poniendo sus propios carismas al servicio de las necesidades del mundo.
En el Evangelio de hoy Jesús se iguala a sí mismo con el Padre, y por si esto no queda claro todavía agrega: “Yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre está en mí.” En otras palabras, el Padre luce como Jesús, y el Padre actúa igual que Jesús. Pero además de estas consoladoras y reconfortantes ideas, el Evangelio despliega ante nosotros lo que quizás es la más elocuente y desconcertante definición de la identidad y la misión de Jesús. En el pasaje, y como respuesta a la pregunta de Tomas, Jesús afirma categórico y sin vacilación: “¡Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida!”
A través de la historia humana, grandes hombres han reclamado el haber encontrado un camino, una luz que los conduzca. Moisés, Buda, Mahoma, Gandhi pueden ser contados como ejemplo. Pero la radicalidad de la afirmación hace a Jesús diferente a todos los demás. No es que Él haya encontrado un camino; no es que Él haya encontrado la verdad; no es que Él haya descubierto la fuente de la vida. La radicalidad de Jesús consiste en que Él es el camino que siempre conducirá al Padre; la radicalidad de Jesús consiste en que Él es la verdad absoluta que no cambia con el tiempo; La radicalidad de Jesús consiste en que Él es la única fuente de vida verdadera.
Al asistir hoy al altar del sacrificio, el lugar en donde el camino, la verdad, y la vida son ofrecidos por todos nosotros en la Eucaristía, pidamos al Señor sabiduría para trasladar a nuestra vida diaria las palabras y las obras de Cristo. Pidamos humildemente al Señor que aumente nuestra fe, hasta el punto en donde los milagros no sean necesarios porque nuestra madurez nos dirá que Él es verdaderamente el hijo de Dios. Como el apóstol San Pablo, gritemosle al mundo: ¡No soy más yo quien habita en mí, sino Cristo quien vive en mí! Humildemente entendamos de una vez por todas: ¡El camino, la verdad, y la vida están encarnados en la identidad misma de la persona de Cristo!

THẦY LÀ ĐƯỜNG, LÀ SỰ THẬT, VÀ LÀ SỰ SỐNG
Bài Phúc m hôm nay, Chúa Giêsu tự coi mình ngang hàng với Chúa Cha, và để rõ ràng hơn, Ngài thêm rằng “Thầy ở trong Cha và Cha ở trong Thầy”. Nói cách khác, Chúa Cha giống như Chúa Giêsu, và Chúa Cha hành động như Chúa Giêsu. Bên cạnh những lời khẳng định nầy, đoạn Tin Mừng còn khẳng định về bản tính và sứ vụ của Chúa Giêsu. Và để trả lời cho câu hỏi của Tôma, trong Tin Mừng hôm nay Chúa Giêsu quả quyết “Thầy là đường, là sự thật và là sự sống”
Qua suốt lịch sử nhân loại, một số nhà thông thái luôn tuyên bố đã tìm ra con đường, ánh sáng dẫn đường cho họ. Chẳng hạn như Mai-sen, Đức Phật, Ma-hô-mét, Ghan-đi. Nhưng tính triệt để của lời tuyên bố khẳng định Chúa Giêsu khác biệt với mọi người. Ngài không tìm thấy một con đường; Ngài không tìm thấy sự thật; Không khám phá ra suối nguồn sự sống. Cơ bản, Chúa Giêsu là đường dẫn chúng ta đến với Chúa Cha; Ngài là chân lý tuyệt đối, không thay đổi theo thời gian và sự tiến triển của nhân loại; Ngài là nguồn sự thật là sự sống trường sinh duy nhất.
Khi chúng ta tham dự tiệc hy tế trên bàn thờ hôm nay, nơi mà đường, sự thật, và sự sống được trao ban cho chúng ta trong Bí Tích Thánh Thể, chúng ta hãy xin Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta sự khôn ngoan để thi hành giáo huấn của Chúa Giêsu trong cuộc sống hàng ngày của chúng ta.
Chúng ta khiêm tốn khẩn xin Chúa thêm đức tin mạnh mẽ để không cần nhìn thấy phép lạ để tin rằng Ngài thực sự là Con Thiên Chúa. Giống như vị tông đồ quả quyết: “ Không phải tôi sống, mà Chúa Giêsu sống trong tôi! “ Hôm nay chúng ta hãy khiêm tốn nhìn nhận chân lý về Chúa Giêsu
“là đường, là sự thật, và là sự sống!”
