Gospel

He is not God of the dead, but of the living, to Him all are alive.

St. Luke reaffirms today one of the fundamental truths of Christianity. God’s revelation to Moses at the top of Mt. Sinai, the burning bush that by not consuming itself represented eternal life; the affirmation that God is the God of the living, and not of the dead, sustained at the center of Scripture. Jesus’ teaching comes from the Book of Exodus, and it represents an unreplaceable element to understand our Christian faith.

“I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” God is a God that is alive, consequently, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob cannot be dead, they are alive in God’s presence. Cardinal Karl Rahner, one of the most influential theologians of our modern world, used to describe how we human beings discover our close dependence upon a superior being, only after we have recognized our imperfect nature, and the limited capacity we possess to understand the world around us. But at the same time, this fact sparks our faith, a faith that will lead us along paths way different from the worldly ones. This new faith is a move that arises from our intellect, and can lead us to a new set of realities that cannot be proved through our sensorial perception.

But faith is a gift coming only from the Lord. The history of salvation is flooded with these kinds of examples. It is only through divine grace that our faith will be increased. St. Augustine used to say that faith builds over nature, moving us closer to resemble God’s image a little bit more. Today, let us ask God for courage enough to defend, with true love, our catholic convictions. As Paul affirmed in Scripture: “That we may be delivered from perverse and wicked people, for not all have faith.”

Recemos para que la Iglesia, fiel al Evangelio y valiente en su anuncio, viva cada vez más la sinodalidad y sea un lugar de solidaridad, fraternidad y acogida.

San Lucas nos reafirma el día de hoy, una de las verdades básicas de nuestro cristianismo. La revelación de Dios a Moisés en la zarza ardiendo, que al no consumirse representa la vida eterna y afirma que Dios es un Dios de vivos y no de muertos, está sustentada en el corazón mismo de la escritura. La enseñanza de Jesús proviene del libro del Éxodo, y es indispensable para entender los fundamentos de nuestro cristianismo.

“Yo soy el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac, el Dios de Jacob,” Dios es un Dios vivo, por lo tanto, Abraham, Isaac y Jacob no pueden estar muertos, viven en la presencia del Dios todopoderoso.” Uno de los grandes teólogos de nuestros tiempos, el Cardenal Karl Rahner, afirma que el ser humano, al descubrir su imperfecta naturaleza y su limitada capacidad para entender la totalidad de los acontecimientos que lo rodean, termina descubriendo su dependencia de un ser superior e infinito. Una fe que es provocada por un movimiento en nuestra inteligencia, y que conduce hacia realidades que no pueden ser comprobadas a través de nuestros sentidos.

Pero la fe es necesariamente un regalo que proviene de Dios. La historia de la salvación está llena de estos ejemplos. Es sólo a través de la gracia que nuestra fe se incrementa. San Agustín enseñaba que la fe se finca sobre nuestra naturaleza humana abierta a recibir el influjo divino. La fe acerca nuestra débil naturaleza a parecerse, aunque sea un poquito a Dios. Pidamos hoy al Señor coraje suficiente para defender nuestra fe católica con convicción y con amor. Como dice San Pablo: “Que el Señor nos libre de los perversos y malvados, porque no todos aceptan la fe.”

El Señor no es un Dios de muertos, para él todos están vivos.

Cầu nguyện theo ý Đức Thánh Cha Francico: THÁNG 11 Cầu cho giới trẻ vị thành niên

Chúng ta hãy cầu nguyện cho những trẻ em đang bị đau khổ, đặc biệt là những trẻ em vô gia cư, mồ côi và nạn nhân của chiến tranh; xin cho các em can đảm, biết chuyên chăm học hành và cho các em được cảm nghiệm tình yêu gia đình.

Xin cám ơn qúy ông bà và anh chị em vẫn tiếp tục đóng góp ủng hộ Giáo Xứ trong thời điểm khó khăn nầy.

Hôm nay Thánh sử Lu-ca khẳng định lại một chân lý căn bản của người Kitô Hữu. Thiên Chúa tỏ cho Mai-sen ở trên đỉnh núi Si-nai, bụi gai cháy mà không tự thiêu rụi nói lên sự sống trường sinh; chứng chứng rằng Thiên Chúa là Chúa của kẻ sống và không phải của kẻ chết, là tâm điểm của Thánh Kinh. Giáo huấn của Chúa Giêsu trong Sách Xuất Hành, diễn tả một điều không thay đổi về niềm tin Kitô Hữu của chúng ta.

“Ta là Thiên Chúa của tổ tiên ngươi, Chúa của Abraham, Chúa của Isaac, và Chúa của Giacóp.” Thiên Chúa là một Chúa của sự sống, do đó Abraham, Isaac, và Gia-cóp không thể chết, họ vẫn sống trước nhan thánh Chúa. Nhưng niềm tin là một món qùa đến từ Thiên Chúa. Lịch sử cứu độ tràn đầy những loại điển hình này. Điều đó chỉ qua ân sủng Thiên Chúa mà niềm tin chúng ta sẽ được tăng trưởng. Thánh Augustinô thường nói rằng niềm tin xây trên tự nhiên, đưa chúng ta gần hơn để giống với hình ảnh Thiên Chúa hơn một chút nữa. Hôm nay, chúng ta cùng xin Chúa ban đủ can đảm để chiến đấu, với tình yêu đích thực, sự xác quyết công giáo của mình. Như thánh Phao-lô đã quả quyết trong Thánh Kinh: “rằng chúng ta có thể được cứu thoát khỏi những kẻ gian tà và xấu xa, vì không phải ai cũng có đức tin.”
