I moved to Ivybridge as a young child when my mother and step-father took on general management of Wrangaton Golf Club and ultimately consider Ivybridge to be home.
As a veteran of both the Ivybridge Community College and the Ivybridge Rugby Club I have cemented life-long friendships and connections who all remain incredibly important to me.
Meeting and marrying my wife in Ivybridge and starting our family in Ermington, will always keep Ivybridge and the South Hams very close to both of our hearts.
My interest in the property market was kickstarted after completing work placements with a South Hams agency. Following University, I moved to London in 1994 to progress my career and had the opportunity of working in some of the most formidable firms including Foxtons and Winkworth. During this time, I gained experience in top-end Sales & Lettings rising quickly to Manager.
With a growing reputation in the industry, I was ‘head-hunted’ by a former client in 2001 and asked to invest in development properties in Central London. As a Company Director, I carried out numerous projects including developing apartments that sold upwards of £1.35m. Sadly, the company disbanded in 2003 when one of the investors retired but it provided the chance for me to make the decision to return to the West Country.
After almost 10 years in London, I returned to Devon and took up the position of Senior Valuer in an established West Country Agents and Land
Surveyors. Staying with that firm for almost 17 years I rose through Associate Partner to Board Level.
Following the untimely and tragic passing of our eldest daughter, I took an opportunity within the firm to expand their brand in a new county and relocate, but after 10 years, I was ever keen to return to the South Hams and sold my shares in the firm.
I am now back in Ivybridge with my wife and family and fulfilling my ambition of opening my own firm, providing a quality and personable service in a geographical area I adore.
Retaining connections in London has helped me to identify trends early that enable me to keep my clients ahead of the market and with my South East experiences I’m confident at tailoring the presentation of properties to attract buyers relocating from London and the South East.
I have vast experience in all aspects of estate agency from the sales of lease-hold flats all the way up to small-holdings and remain proficient in town, country and coastal properties throughout.
I like to consider myself as enthusiastic & focused and thrive on new challenges; I’m an assertive negotiator and will always strive to balance the needs of both vendor and purchaser with equal importance, kindness and respect. Chris and Heather offered an outstanding service selling both of our properties.
