sustainable design The design for this project was inspired by Copenhagen, Denmark. The design took cues from the city’s organizational structure,

sustainability

features

and

overall design environment. The space included statements such as reindeer moss walls, multiple lounge areas and acoustic lighting features. Sustainably sourced materials and products were used throughout the space to create a space that is environmentally conscious. The Tutoring zone (Shown on left) was one space in the design that was given a lot of attention. Before the redesign, this space was in the middle of the library and was distracting to students studying and working quietly. The new tutoring space is located on the left side of the library, out of the way of the studying areas, and features individual tutoring stalls. Numbers above the booths turn green or red to show if they are vacant or in use. View of Reception

hand-drawn sketches Sketching is my go-to way to express my design ideas. Since starting design school, marker renderings have always been one of my favorite things to do. As a designer, I think building up sketching skills are important, even though many drawings are now done in cad. I see hand drawing as a skill that will always be useful to me, and that will help me to organize my thoughts. Pictured On Right: Hand-Drawn Residential Formal Sitting Room, Marker & Pen

chair study I have a passion for furniture design, and there’s nothing that strikes my interest more than well-designed, handcrafted furniture. This study of iconic chair designs is a hand-rendered collection of my favorite furniture pieces. The collection includes 9 pieces, all of which I have a

beyond the box - big box store remodel 42,000 SQ. FT. | Project Length - 3 weeks

This three week long project focused on redeveloping an abandoned big-box retail store to transform it into a space that could benefit the surrounding community. The idea behind this design was to create a space that could be useful for low-income families in Tallahassee, Florida. This building includes spaces like a work center, to help out of work individuals find new career opportunities, temporary housing for others escaping negative living situations, affordable child care, a farmers market with locally grown produce, and an affordable clinic. These spaces will offer new opportunities to individuals and families in the Tallahassee community.

FARMER’S MARKET - The Farmer’s Market serves low-income families by offering organic, locally grown produce and food products at lower prices than surrounding markets. Low-income families in the Tallahassee region often struggle with obtaining healthy food, because of financial restrictions. Many neighborhoods within the area have community gardens which supplement the Farmer’s Market at Blue House, in addition to small farms in the surrounding area.

CAREER ASSISTANCE CENTER - The work center at Blue House serves as a place for individuals, struggling with unemployment, to find new jobs within the local community. Resume assistance and private interview rooms are some of the amenities offered to individuals.

bauhaus inspired wood panel Project Length - 1 m.o. The design for the panel and table took inspiration from the work of Bauhaus master Josef Albers. This piece was selected for display in the FSU Fine Arts Exhibit in commemoration of the Bauhaus 100 year anniversary. The panel was designed on AutoCAD and was cut out on a CNC router.

haussmann parisian flat 1,900 SQ. FT. | Project Length - 3 weeks This Parisian apartment shows my first attempt at rendering with marker. This is still one of my favorite projects because of the bright, vibrant colors and the small architectural details within this Haussmann apartment building. This project helped me experiment with rendering and to develop a graphic style. My intent for this project was to go out of my comfort zone, which is my reasoning behind the multicolor design.
