He studied music in OAU Ife in Nigeria and media technology in SAE insitiute, Malaysia. He was born and raised in Nigeria, He was influenced by a lot of great musicians in Nigeria, such as Soji Israel, Sammy okposo, Kunle Pinmiloye (kaysticks) and also international gospel artists such as, Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Sapp. He was the Praise worship leader and music director at the following branches of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) - Court of His Majesty in Ipaja Lagos, Nigeria, RCCG - Covenant House in Victoria Island, Lagos, and RCCG - Power House, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Why 'All the Single Ladies' Shouldn't Give Up on Marriage

Frustrations with men and the institution are real,but shouldn't obscure our hope in what God is doing.

Jennifer A. Marshall In a fawn-colored silk dress and up-do, a contemplative young woman sips champagne while a bridal bouquet flies over her head. As other never-married wedding-goers readily will detect, she's scrupulously ignoring this ritual reminder of an unrealized longing for marriage.

This is the photograph of Kate Bolick, 39, that runs alongside her cover story, "All the Single Ladies," in the November edition of The Atlantic. Beginning with that picture, her piece captures the anxiety of many single women as the age of first marriage continues to climb.

Those who always expected to be married by now are wondering whether tokeep hoping for marriage, how to find fulfillment without it, and why relationships with men these days can be so frustrating. Rather than pointing to answers for these important questions, however, Bolick's article leads to a dead end of further disappointment and confusion.

The author is one of countless women who have struggled with the unexpected in-between of prolonged singleness. "If I stopped seeing my present life as provisional," she writes, "perhaps I'd be a little … happier." (The ellipsis is hers.)

Bolick seems to have resolved the sense of

being betwixt-and-between by demoting marriage. In her book, marriage should no longer enjoy pride of place as the basic building block of society and the relationship that harmonizes the needs of men, women, and children like no other.

In other words, if experience doesn't match up to the ideal, toss out the ideal.

But should we give up on an ideal just because it hasn't worked out for us personally? That might make sense if marriage were an ideal simply because the majority, the powerful, or forces such as evolution or economics made it so. The unique status of marriage, however, is timeless. God ordained it as the basic institution for ordering human relations.

To esteem that ideal is not to dismiss singleness as second rate. Kate Bolick's hunch is right: Our current status isn't "provisional."

We'll gain a better perspective on our circumstances, though, not by downgrading marriage, but by taking a higher view of what God is doing both now and in the long run.

Amid the tension between circumstances today and longings unfulfilled, joy can come only from the confidence that a purposeful Author has a grand design for our lives.

Bolick writes that she aspired to wed but "spent her early 30s actively putting off

marriage." Now a magazine editor as well as a writer, she walked away from a serious relationship in her late 20s after struggling with "wanting two incompatible states of being—autonomy and intimacy."

The quest for independence is no doubt a result of the prevailing feminist winds that carried along today's 30-somethings as we grew up amid "The Girl Project." That's the moniker Barbara Dafoe Whitehead gave the "you-go-girl" era ushered in by the 1972 enactment of Title IX, the federal law mandating gender equity in education.

From Little League in the 1970s to the Citadel in the '90s, feminists have been beating down doors on behalf of girls ever since. A generation of girls happily proceeded to more and more educational and vocational achievements.

Meanwhile, it's been "a bad time to be a boy in America," as Christina Hoff Sommers wrote in "The War Against Boys," a May 2000 cover story for the very same Atlantic. With all the focus on girls, she argued, we were overlooking a crisis emerging among boys.

Fast-forward 10 years to "The End of Men," Hanna Rosin's Atlantic coverstory (July/August 2010) documenting the declining circumstances of men. Her research showed men lagging behind women in a variety of education and employment indicators.

Christian Sex Rules

When it comes to sex, most married Christians just do what works for them. If they have been blessed enough to have discovered something that brings satisfaction, pleasure, closeness, and climax, they most likely will continue that practice. However, some are plagued with guilt because they wonder if what they're doing is sinful.

TCW receives many, many questions from Christian couples who want to know what is and what is not okay to do sexually. Unfortunately, churches tend to ignore this issue, small groups usually don't talk about sex, and most Christian books deal with more "spiritual" ideas.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a list of sexual practices categorized by "sinful" or "okay"? Is there such a list? Would everyone agree with the list? Is there a solution to this dilemma?

We think the answers to those questions are: yes, no, no, and probably not—in that order. We'd really like to create such a list that could settle once and forever the niggling doubts about sexual practices. But that's not possible. Different communities of Christians have different understandings about sexual practices that are based on a few general biblical principles. No list would be accepted by all Christians. Still, we do want to provide some guidelines that we hope will help you enjoy the gift of your sexuality to the fullest. That's what we're convinced God wants for each of his children.

We doubt that God's surprised by the intensity of our sexual desire or of its fulfillment. Seeing us enjoy the passion and pleasure seems to fit with his creative nature. There are some definite boundaries, however, that were identified through his Word. These are established to protect and enhance the maximum enjoyment of the gift. We think it's like our giving our kids bicycles. We'd teach them the safety rules right away so they could delight in the ride without being run over by a car on a busy street.

First, we'd like to point out the obvious—the Bible is not a manual on sexual technique.

We've heard some people say that Song of Solomon describes acceptable sexual positions and behavior. We see it as a poetic love song that clearly embraces the joy of sexual play. We don't think it is an attempt to outline any specific sexual practices.

Second, we want to emphasize again that there are some specific sexual behaviors that are forbidden in scriptures. Adultery, that is having sexual intercourse with another person's spouse or a partner other than your own spouse, is a sin. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, deepens the importance of marital faithfulness by extending the prohibition of infidelity to include a lustful thought life as well as the physical act of intercourse. Looking into our minds and hearts is an important principle for

safeguarding the delights of intimacy.

Louis and Melissa McBurney Scripture is also clear about the evil of fornication—premarital sexual intercourse—which most of our culture accepts as normal and irresistible. We see many couples suffering from the consequences of their early promiscuity. The "sexual freedom" of our time isn't free and usually carries some pretty heavy costs.

The Bible also lists other practices that are "abominations" to God (Le v. 18, Rom. 1:21-32, I Thess. 4:1-8, and I Cor. 6:12-20). These include homosexuality, bestiality, and incest.

And last, there is a vast array of possible sexual practices for married couples that are not mentioned at all in Scripture (we can find no reference to Internet pornography, vibrators, or videos). So, since we aren't likely to find a definitive answer, the best we can do is find the principles God has given us and apply them to the cultural setting we're living in. As we look for those you may not be surprised to find that we're not much different in the twenty-first century than how mankind has been since creation. We have the same anatomical equipment, the same physiologic hormones, the same mental capacity for lust and fantasy, and the same relational needs that have always driven men and women to seek sexual pleasure and intimacy. As Ecclesiastes says, "there is nothing new under the sun," except maybe the vast array of new toys.

Online Dating For Christians?

S

hould Christians use online dating services? Yes, and with gusto! Online dating doesn't correct the welldocumented imbalance of devout Christian women (abundant supply) to likehearted men (a paucity), but it at least widens the net for Christians seeking partners.

It also reduces the need to choose between meaningful service in a region where pickings are slim, and work that may be further from one's calling in a more populated area.

Along with these benefits, online dating does raise new dangers: a creep—a v i o l e n t o n e , even—may be lurking behind the next click; the process overrepresents certain features of a person (facial appearance, for starters); and it requires an investment of funds that perhaps could be better spent elsewhere.

It would be foolish, however, to preserve the dating practices of an earlier era, even as an attempt to avoid these dangers. For instance, I'd never recommend that a modern woman do as I did. In the mid-1990s, when I was seeing the man who became my husband, we talked on landline phones late at night (when rates dropped from 25 cents per minute to 10 cents), sent just a handful of e-mails (seemed impersonal), and never texted (weren't pagers mostly just for drug dealers back then?). We wrote letters, too. By hand! And sent them via postal mail!

These archaic behaviors suited the olden days, but some of them seemed novel even to the generation before mine. Like

work, house construction, and another. They seem even more phone calls, and then a face-

child-rearing, dating is a cultural practice that humans reinvent and adapt to different circumstances.

Refusing to adapt to massive cultural shifts such as technological innovation may work for a short time, or for separatist Christian communities, but for

In another sense, however, online dating offers an improvement over conventional dating, which is rapidly

Viewed with my anthropologist's eye, online dating and conventional dating look like near equivalents anyway; both are mate selection strategies favored by individualistic societies that believe marriage partners should know each other ahead of time and freely choose one

devolving from courtship (increasing closeness over time with the eventual prospect of marriage) to hook-ups (sexual intimacy early, even before an exclusive relationship is formed). Online dating requires consideration of a prospective mate before physical contact occurs, and usually progresses from "just looking" to e-mail exchanges, texts, and cell

Christians use the Internet for building all kinds of human relationships: evangelism, discipleship, f r i e n d s h i p , f a m i l y, a n d workplace. In today's society, the only thing odder than searching for a soul mate online may be not doing so.

Trying so hard to quit smoking? quit for a while and defaulted? here are some helpful tips on how to quit smoking Are you trying to quit smoking? did you quit at some point but found yourself going back to the same old habit? It could be that you are going about it the wrong way.

Here are some helpful tips to help you through the seemingly hard journey. #1 Have a powerful enough reason for wanting to quit.

If someone is mandating you to stop smoking or you are trying to stop just to please someone else, it might not be a strong motivation. You'll end up being a secret smoker, lighting up cigarettes when no one is looking or within the confines of your room. #2 Do not stop abruptly.

Systematically decrease the number of cigarettes

gradually over time.

The nicotine substance in cigarette is addictive, just like alcohol and some recreational drugs,the brain is already hooked to nicotine so if you stop abruptly, you are at risk of having nicotine withdrawal symptoms.

Symptoms of nicotine withdrawal typically peak within two to three days.

The symptoms often go away by two weeks. Some people may experience nicotine withdrawal for several months. #3 Replace cigarettes with nicotine substitutes eg nicotine gum or patches.

Till you are able to quit smoking totally, nicotine patches and lozenges can help you curb the sudden craving for cigarette. #4 Don't do it alone. Get

encouragement from friends and family. Join a support group or talk to a counsellor.

It is easier to go through with this scheme if you have other people with like goals to talk to and share challenges with. #5 Find another means to relieve stress E.g Massage,Music,Yoga.

Feel free to try an orgasm (winks) # 6 Av o i d s m o k i n g triggers. E.g Alcohol, other smokers, large meals. Rid yourself of objects that reminds you of smoking.

It seems almost impossible for smokers to have a bottle of beer/wine without washing it down with sticks of cigarette.

The same goes for large meals, staying around

smok e r s won't help y o u either. #7 Rid yourself and your surrounding of items that would remind you or tempt you. E.g Ashtrays, lighters, cigarette packs, e tc #8 Exercise, it helps reduce nicotine cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms. It also helps to ward off weight gain from cessation of smoking. #9 Eat more fruits and vegetables and low- fat dairy products. This helps in fighting cravings and also improve immune system. #10 Set goals and promise yourself a reward if you attain your goals and most

Dr Mrs Ifeyinwa Onwudiwe clocked 50 recently and shares her life experience with Christian Entertainment News about growing up, marriage, moving to US and many more.

CENEWS: Tell us your Name Ma Mrs. Ifeyinwa P. Onwudiwe, MD Tell us a bit about your early life I was raised by my parents. My father was a teacher and my mother was a business woman.

We lived in Imo State and my father moved around during his teaching career, so we moved around with him until we grew up and went to middle school. I attended Federal Government Girls College, Owerri, Imo State. I had a scholarship at the Federal Government Girls College. I went to the University of Nigeria, where I studied Medicine and Surgeon. I

graduated in 1988, after which I went straight to do pediatric residency. After that, I started working in Lagos State, Nigeria. Shortly after, I met my husband and we got married.

Tell us about your life growing up in comparism to kids of these days. What were other aspects of your life like, not just the educational aspect?

I gave my life to Christ in 1978 and I became a Christian and that was at the Federal Government Girls College. I was a very strong member of a student fellowship and we did a lot, such as evangelism. We went to the prison to visit people and to preach to them.

So you have been an S.U? I have been an S.U. right from middle school (high school) and then when I went to college at University of Nigeria, I was in Christian Union and there my faith grew; I was the women leader. I led the fellowship as the mother, so I took care of everybody. In summary, most of what I did was among Christians.

Where, when and how did you meet your husband, because as a very staunch Christian, you were probably hard to convince, so how did he do it?

After graduation, working as a physician at UNTH, we h a d a graduate fellowship and I was also i n a leadership position in t h a t fellowship. I was more concerned about my Christian life, going for witnessing, h e l p i n g people and I didn't worry so much a b o u t marriage. My sister knew my husband's sister and they introduced us. I was in Nigeria and he was here (in America). We kept talking on the phone, writing and praying. I met him for the first time in Lagos before which we had already decided we were going to get married.

Tell us about moving to USA After we decided to get married and he came to Lagos, we did the traditional marriage and everything, and then he brought me to the United States, and after we got here, we got married.

Tell us about your American experience Well, the American experience is very different from the Nigerian one. Back in Nigeria, people talk about America like it is “heaven,� but

when you come here, you find out that it is far from that. Things are difficult everywhere in the world.

Can you tell us one major experience that you can remember that happened when you got here, that either shocked you or excited you?

What shocked me when I got her was that I saw very many poor people, who were poorer than people back in Nigeria. America was not presented that way to us when we were students in Nigeria.

I saw people that may have been spiritually bankrupt even though there are a lot of Christians here. Americans are good and hospitable people, however, I remember being told back in Nigeria not to backslide and that America could make me backslide, but I realized that after I got here, the church in Maryland (They dropped a flyer by my door) that I started attending, had very strong Christians and they helped us to grow. So it is not true that people say that when you come to America, you will backslide, because, there are also very strong Christians here. It is what you make of yourself. It is very difficult to find a fellowship that will give you that excitement that a typical Nigerian fellowship will give you, but that

is a matter of relative difference rooted in culture and traditions. Indeed, when you go to real Christian fellowships here in America, you still

How many Children do you have?

I have three (3) kids. Two (2) boys and one (1) girl.

My first daughter is in college, my second one is in first grade and the last is a toddler.

What was your experience like when you had your first Child?

People in Nigeria are enjoying, because, you have your mother, your aunties, house helps and relatives, but here, you are by yourself and the only help you have is your husband. Although some people are lucky, their mothers will come, but in my case, she could not. So, it is very difficult to have a child in America if you are by yourself.

So, if we pit you and your husband in separate rooms and we ask you both separately what your husband's favorite food is, will it tally.

Yes. I know what my husband likes. He likes Fufu and bitter leaf soup. Ukazi is his favorite.

He just eats okra and egusi sparingly, but he loves ukazi and bitter leaf soup, homemade.

How will you describe your husband?

My husband is a wonderful man, very loving

Thanksgiving is a time for one to stop and reflect on the goodness of God and to offer unto the Lord the sacrifices of praise from our lips and hearts for all that He has done. There are times when it is very easy to thank God. When we obtain a new car/h o me/lu x u r y item, ar e promoted at work, gain admission into a top university or program, expand our families with the birth of a child, or an engagement, the natural human reaction is to rejoice and exclaim, "Thank God!"; however, many people may be experiencing this Thanksgiving season with a broken heart and finding a reason to be thankful may be very hard.

In moments like these we must pause and encourage ourselves with the Word of God and find reasons to be thankful. We have been given the power to govern our emotions therefore we must choose to be thankful in spite of the cards this year has dealt us. If you are finding it hard to be thankful this season, here are three sure reasons to give God thanks.

1. You Are Still Here!

"Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul would soon have settled in silence."-Psalm 94:17" What you have gone through may have destroyed other people but by the special grace of God, you are still standing! God has been faithful even right there in the midst of your trials and His mercy has kept you to see today.

The mere fact that you are still here means God has a plan and there is still hope! Rejoice in the hope that we have in Christ Jesus.

2. You Have Enough For Today.

"Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food allotted to me; lest I be full and deny you, and say, " Who is the Lord?" or lest I be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God"- Proverbs 30:8-9 Many times we feel that we can only offer the Lord thanksgiving when we have it all,

but God's Word is a reminder that the definition of being blessed isn't abundance, but sufficiency. We are blessed in the fact that we have enough for today. The Lord's prayer says, "Give us each day, our daily bread" meaning that God's duty is to provide for this day! When the Children of Israel wandered in the wilderness and the Lord supplied manna, He also gave an instruction for the Children of Israel to not store up the food because He intended to give them enough for each day (Exodus 16:19-20). The Word of God also insists that we don't worry about tomorrow because

everything we want.

3. God Has Not Forgotten About You. "When my mother and father forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me"- Psalm 27:10 "My relatives have failed, and my closed friends have forgotten me"- Job 19:14 One of the hardest parts of the Holidays is being alone at a time when families gather together and share in each other's love and presence. It may be hard to find a reason to be thankful when all those you considered family and friends have forgotten you.

In the midst of your loneliness,

today has its own problems (Matthew 6:24). You may not be where you wished to be or have the financial freedom you wished for, but you have enough for today. We choose to give thanks to the Lord because today's needs are being met even though we may not have

At what point should we shut up and when should we speak? When will we finally say “I own you, so I must control you” to our mouths.

At what point will we allow Jesus to be Lord over our tongues as well and not just our lives?

James 1:26 NIV If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

The world is full of Christians who do not think before they speak. It's not enough to say “it's the truth so I must call it as I see it”, NO! Will it hurt the listener or the person being spoken about or both? Is it absolutely necessary to say this? If God was standing before me, will

Gossiping, backbiting, and slander are now viewed as part of life and part of having a conversation not just amongst women, but also amongst men. Damaging a person's reputation all in a bid to have an interesting conversation was not something that Christ did while he was on earth. As Christians, are we not supposed to emulate Christ?

Why do we think that these fall into the category of “small sins” and they are inconsequential? And when did sins fall into Small and big category? I certainly didn't get that memo. The Devil sows that illusion into the minds of people and if we let it get rooted, it begins to feel like “no sin at all” and as a result, it becomes a part of

our lives. We should not let that happen.

The tongue is a mighty weapon. What we think of as small little comment can actually wreak a bit of havoc with someone else……

So too, though the tongue is a small part [of the body], it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites (James 3:5) Are you aware that as a Christian, your freedom of speech is not infringed on by the fact that there are certain things that you should not say.

It's something we have all experienced and either hated when being distracted or were indifferent when distracting others.

Chewing gum, walking around for no good reason, unwrapping mints in a bid to stay awake, letting our phones go off, texting, breast feeding or bottle feeding, re-adjusting our attire, staring at someone showing too much skin and taking a few minutes to judge, giggling at the girl in really uncomfortable heel, the list is endless.

Why do we get so distracted in church? Are we bored and looking for entertainment? Are we secretly praying for the clock to run faster?

Lakewood church and the girl sitting beside me was texting and every time the phone would vibrate I would look down at it. I probably read a few messages on her phone because it right there in my face. Yes, I knew I was absolutely wrong, and yes, I knew better than to let myself be distracted.

H O W D O W E AV O I D DISTRACTION IN CHURCH? In Proverbs 4:25, the bible says “let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you”.

King David is telling us to keep our focus straight ahead, focused on God. We can apply this to church attendance. Once the eyes wander, so does the mind.

We ought to keep our eyes focused the reasons why we are

in church, which are; 1. Going to church is a visible, tangible expression of our love and worship towards God. (Matt.

10:32-33). It is where we can bring Him offerings of praise and which are pleasing to Him. 2. Receiving the preaching and teaching of the Word of God increases our faith and builds us up spiritually.

3. There is the promise of a special visitation of the Lord's presence whenever two or more gather specifically in the name of Jesus.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them" (Matt. 18:20).The List goes on.

We have to make a conscious effort to stay focused in the house of God. Every distraction can and should be ignored. There will

always be another girl in uncomfortable heels to be laughed at (if you must), that phone call can wait and your phone can be silenced at work, it can definitely survive a few hours on silent in church, that breast feeding mom can be ignored, its nature, get over it and stop starring.

Finally, if I am invited to the white house, I can't imagine putting on my ripped jeans or miniskirts. I most likely would go out and get a new suit because I don't think any of my old suits deserve a trip to the white house.

How much more when I am going to the house of God? I am not saying that we have to buy a new suit every time we want to go to church, all I am saying is, if we can make an effort for a man, we should be able to make an effort for the creator of heaven, earth and every living being.

Money Management for the Christian Family

n his day, John D. Rockefeller was one of the richest men in the world. For all practical purposes, his money was virtually limitless. Once, an interviewer asked him, "How much money is enough?" Rockefeller replied, "Just a little bit more!"

As outrageous as it sounds, haven't we all been there? Whatever our income level, we think to ourselves, If only I had just a little bit more‌ Then, at last, our budget would have some breathing room and we will be satisfied with our finances.

But Rockefeller's response pokes a hole in that theory. The truth is, control over money has less to do with how much we make, and a lot more to do with how we manage what we have. Financial health is important not only to our bank balance but to the atmosphere in our home. More marriages have blown apart over financial issues than almost any other factor.

We need to recognize that managing money is a spiritual issue.

Didyou know that Jesus spoke more about money than He did about any other topic? In fact, 15% of all the recorded words of Jesus are on the subject of money—more than His teachings on heaven and hell combined. Why did money matter so much to Jesus?

To Jesus, our attitude towards money is of utmost importance, because it is a reflection of our attitude towards God. As Larry Burkett said, "You can tell more about the spiritual lives of a couple by looking at their checkbook than by anything else."

Everything we have comes from God. He owns it, and He entrusts it to us to use for His purposes. True financial success comes not from accumulating a large surplus in our bank account, but from following God's plan for our finances. As we do this, He will provide for all of our needs.

in your family? Has it been difficult for you to manage your finances and to know where you really stand? If so, consider this simple three-step plan for successful money management.

1. Give to God first.

As Christians, our first financial priority, just as in every other area of life, should be God and His work.

The issue of managing all of our gifts, including our finances, is of great importance to God. Figuring out how much to give as a minimum is fairly easy, as the Bible instructs us to give a tithe, or one tenth or our income back to God. This is a great starting point for Christian giving and should be calculated on the gross salary (or on net income before taxes for those in businesses for themselves).

Now, you may be thinking: How can we possibly do that when we are already struggling to make ends meet? I thought you were going to tell us how to get out of financial trouble, not make it worse! The truth is there will never be "enough" to give. If we wait until all of our needs and desires are met before we start to give, it will never happen. In fact, statistics show that in Canada , the more a person makes, the less they are likely to give, percentage-wise.

The more we have, the more we think we need.

Interestingly, people today talk very little about their actual salary or how much they are worth. Like all secrets, this gives far more power to money than it actually deserves.

Similarly, and more properly, people who tithe do not go around boasting about it. But I would like to challenge you to ask people you trust whether or not they tithe. If they do tithe, ask them about their experience. In all my discussions with people about money I have never heard anyone say that their financial problems started or got worse once they started to tithe. On the contrary, people who tithe seem to be better off than those who don't.

It is one of the many mysteries of

how God works.

2. Set aside funds for regular savings.

An important second step is to establish the discipline of setting aside money for inevitable expenses and large purchases, such as the down payment for a home, college education, vacations and retirement.

This will allow you to spend from cash resources and eliminate the need to borrow when that is not wise. You will be surprised by how much can be accumulated by a simple but disciplined savings program.

Do not plan your savings after you plan your spending, because experience shows that those who try this rarely succeed. You may decide to make this a percentage of your income, and this will probably change as you go through the various stages of life. All financial planners will tell you that the sooner you start saving the more you will be able to save, so plan to start right now.

The issue of savings is one that requires a balanced perspective. The Bible makes it clear that we are supposed to save, but it never tells us how much is too much or too little.

The purpose of saving is to provide for legitimate future needs, and for some it will allow you to become one of those special people who can fund important needs of others.

3. Spend the rest on what you need.

The key to good money management is expense management. We need to learn to live below our means and be content with what God has given us. This is hard for all of us, but it is an important life lesson. The key is to develop a good budget, which is basically a spending plan. Invest the time in learning to use helpful tools, such as a computer spreadsheet or a financial program. If you have never had a budget, spend two or three months tracking your spending. Try keeping a log every time you spend money so that you can improve your budget understanding. Then examine your habits and determine

how you would like to proceed and where you need to cut back.

Be committed to this plan and do not be discouraged if you do not see results for the first two or three months. It takes time to break old habits, and if you have gotten yourself into a financial hole it will take time to dig back out. Be patient and stick to your budget spending, because it really does work.

Finally, two more important points to consider: Always discuss finances as a couple. One spouse likely has more financial skills than the other and will naturally take the lead, but this is no excuse for the other spouse not to be involved in the family financial situation. You both need to understand the issues that you are facing, and make decisions as a team. Financial problems are listed as a major cause of strife in the marriage relationship, and it often starts when one partner is being kept in the dark.

If you have financial problems, seek help before it is too late.

Financial problems can be solved but it often means changes, some of which may not be that easy. A qualified financial planner can help you identify the problem areas and think through solutions that will work for your family.

HOW THE PROPHETIC WORD WORKS

H

ave you ever received a word from the Lord, through a man of God, in your heart or vision, or by any other means and it appears like you are experiencing something directly opposite to what you received?

Something I would call a prophetic contradiction?

For example, a word about peace comes to you and not long after, the storms of life begin to rage so vigorously? Or a word about a financial breakthrough and then you experience drought and famine in your finances? But then you are so convinced the Lord indeed spoke to you? But you are confused. You need not be my dear.

You see, this is a principle I term THE SCORCHING OF THE SUN. In Mark's gospel chapter 4, Jesus gave the parable of the sower. And describing the second category of ground, The stony ground, he spoke about the sun coming to scorch the seed which is the word of God. “6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away."

And in verse 17, he goes ahead to explain what the scorching is. He

describes it as affliction and persecution. And please note that the scorching of the sun is a natural phenomenon. That is, something that comes with life, (a trial of faith) and not necessarily from the devil, though it might be from him sometimes. And the objective of that is to TRY that word sown.

Therefore the problem is not the test, but the depth of the ground.

Because the sun will always scorch. So beloveth, know this that whenever you receive a word, you will have an accompanying scorching along the lines of what you have received. Guaranteed.

Your responsibility is that you ensure you have got capacity, space and depth to RECEIVE AND RETAIN that word in your spirit.

Oh, I have seen this happen in my own life time and time again. In fact, sometimes, after praying for people, things seem to turn worse, and one wonders why that happens. But then begin to turn around for good.

Remember Jesus' encounter with the demon possessed boy whom his disciples could not

handle.

"When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”

Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, “He’s dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.”

Mark 9:25-27 NLT Notice is verse 26 after Jesus prayed, giving specific instructions, that there was a violent reaction to that word, after which the boy appeared dead, looking as thought the very opposite of what he prayed about had happened. But after it came a great calm. So are you facing something totally opposite to God's prophetic word over your life? And you are so sure that you heard from God? I bring you this word of encouragement, HOLD ON !

Something good is about to happen.

But it wasn't until he was 100 years that his Isaac came. After the word, he went through a barren spell of 25 years. Imagine having such prophetic words and experiencing a contracdiction for that long a time.

So what do you do when you are experiencing a contradiction? Hold on to the word. Is it becoming very dark? That's because your dawn is about to break.

By "hold on" I mean, remember the word, speak and declare it. Keep saying it, keep saying it, and keep saying it until it is more real to you than what you are faced with. Then switch to thanksgiving, praise and worship until the clouds begin to clear.
