About

CAFO unites a growing movement in shared initiatives to inspire and equip God’s people to care effectively for vulnerable children and families, rooted always in Christian discipleship and the life of the local church.

Connecting

research with best practices

The Center on Applied Research and Best Practices for Children and Families (also known as CAFO Research Center) helps Christian organizations apply the best available knowledge in their work so they can begin to see better care and outcomes for children worldwide.

Uniting global networks to work better, together

The Global Network initiative unites and strengthens more than 50 locally-led and globally-informed networks of churches, NGOs and agencies working together to see every child in a loving family, embraced within a collaborative community.

Transforming foster care in every US county

The More Than Enough initiative supports a community of churches, organizations and advocates across the country working toward a shared vision of more than enough for children and families before, during and beyond foster care.

we work to see the people of God overflowing with the love of God, so that every orphaned and vulnerable child will experience God’s unfailing love in a thriving family.

Inspiring a holy and helpful vision for the Church

The Pure Religion Project aims to inspire and equip God’s people to live the “pure religion” described in the book of James and invited throughout Scripture through resources, supportive community and ongoing connection and coaching.

Let’s stay connected Together

Helping Christian families nurture healing and health

The Institute for FamilyCentered Healing and Health (also known as the Family Institute) equips foster and adoptive parents with simple tools grounded in Scripture and science that can help families experience steady growth as healing slowly takes root in their children’s lives.

Guiding new approaches in fundraising

The Development and Discipleship initiative expands Christian adoption, foster care and orphan care worldwide by helping childserving ministries build more effective fundraising programs grounded in the theology of God’s abundance.

Keep up with the CAFO community and its Initiatives all throughout the year.

DEAR FRIEND & FELLOW APPRENTICE TO JESUS,

Welcome to CAFO2025! What gladness to gather here—to grow and pray, learn and sing with so many friends, dear brothers and sisters who reflect God’s heart so vibrantly all around the world.

As we love to say, the Summit is a gift exchange. Each of us comes with such needs and such treasures. Wonderfully, God brings all this together perfectly—to renew and strengthen us in ways we didn’t even know to ask for.

Our theme is, “DISTINCT: Different from the World, for the World.”

Together we’ll explore what it means to live in ways that are, well, peculiar—the kind of people of whom it might be said, “They’re a bit strange … but also some of the best neighbors I’ve ever had.”

Our world needs that, profoundly. Not just more of the same patterns and assumptions. Something truly, deeply different. This isn't about being odd for its own sake. Rather, it flows naturally from following Jesus wholeheartedly—letting Him reshape our priorities, small choices, and daily rhythms. When we align our lives with God's heart, we’re remarkably different without even trying to be.

I trust we’ll grow in this even in our brief time together. And we’ll return home freshly inspired to live as God's set-apart people—pure in heart yet fully engaged, different from the world for the world.

So keep your hands wide open, ready to receive and to share. Our good Father delights to fill them.

STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN

Artist & Author

In a career that has spanned more than three decades, Steven Curtis Chapman is the most awarded artist in Christian music history. In 2017, he became a best-selling author with his memoir Between Heaven and the Real World: My Story.

In November 2024, Chapman was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, becoming the first Christian artist in history to receive that honor. She is currently serving as a middle school social studies teacher in Tampa Public Schools.

SHINE HIS LIGHT.

Every moment you serve is a testimony—one the world needs to see.

The work you do is sacred. You fight for justice, restore families, and walk alongside the most vulnerable. These moments are more than milestones, they are glimpses of God’s Kingdom breaking through.

At Nathan Cadis Media, we help you share those stories with beauty, clarity, and reverence. As a story-first filmmaking studio for Kingdom impact, our calling is to:

• Honor the dignity of every person in the frame.

• Reveal God’s faithfulness in the work He’s entrusted to you.

• Inspire others to pray, give, and join your mission.

We prayerfully partner with ministries to craft films that move hearts and awaken action, so that light reaches into the darkest places, and His story is heard.
