“SING A NEW SONG” (Revelation, Fourth and Fifth chapters)
On the Throne sits One whose appearance resembles a Jasper (described in the dictionary as an opaque red, brown, or yellow color) and Carnelian (a reddish brown variety of clear chalcedony used as a gemstone). A rainbow such as an emerald encircles the Throne from which comes flashes of lightning, rumbling, and peals of thunder. Beyond the Throne, there appears a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center stands a Lamb, as if He were slain and when this triumphant One takes His place at the right hand of God, the voices of 10,000 times 10,000 angels, along with the living creatures and elders, begin to sing! “Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.” John, the writer, continues, “There I heard every creature in Heaven and on earth and
under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing, ‘To Him Who sits on the Throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever.’” The Old Testament scriptures in the book of Job tell us about another song of Praise. At the very moment of creation, the morning stars began to sing, and “the angels shouted for joy.” (Job 38) PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING! Our souls were created by the One Who knew our need for expressing Praise; for in the songs of thanksgiving, we find peace and release from the pressures of this earth. In the pure delight of thankful celebration, happiness floods our heart; healing and restoration are experienced. Just as the sight of a beautiful sunset inspires, so Praise motivates and enriches our eternal Spirits. The medicinal effect of Praise is remarkable! In reading aloud the Psalms and other scriptures, we undergo a renewal of hope and calmness. “Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure…You have made known to me the path of life: You will fill me with Joy in Your Presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.” (Psalm 16) Yet, a question remains: Does God need my Praise? The answer comes quickly; I am reminded that it is “I” who need these moments of gratitude so that my spirit will join with the Father and become in harmony with Him as His love surrounds me with mercy. In this communion, restoration and transformation occur, and God’s will becomes my own. “Praise” is a gift from the Father to us. (Continued on Page 2)

As a unique individual, your very own specific “Voice of Praise” is distinctive. Indeed, there is only ONE OF YOU! In hearing your “new song of wonder and appreciation” -God confirms and reaffirms your special relationship with Him. In thanksgiving, we also sing a “new song” to Jesus- Savior, for He paid the price for our wrongdoings; and He is worthy of all our thankfulness. Slain as a sacrificial lamb, yet worshipped by the angels and all those in Heaven, He stands ready to redeem us. Praise Him! The Bible continues to remind us that Jesus is also God, and when “time” as we know it - ends, “every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord.” Jesus is worthy of all our Praise! -

family to the U.S. and with their help, bought a home and continued to believe in God’s help for their lives. Israel’s beliefs regarding his family are exceptional: They are not each other’s property; instead they are borrowed, loaned by God to each other. One day something (perhaps – departure from this world) will separate them; therefore it is of great importance to live agreeably together, helping one another. Joyfully, they follow God and live within His care and keeping. The first home the family owned was right next door to Christian Triumph, and for years, they have been close to the Janes and daughters. With Evelyn Anderson’s leadership, Israel was ordained as a minister and now serves as Senior Pastor of the Christian Triumph mission church. His wife, Vitalina, is a faithful missionary with the CT ministry. His daughter, Diana, is SecretaryTreasurer, Office Manager for the missionary work. Her husband, Steve, is the President of Christian Triumph. This kind and humble - Pastor-Vice President, Israel Hernandez, is also the caretaker of the Christian Triumph grounds. He diligently works to repair and restore the old buildings as well as beautify the small acreage.

Many years ago, Evelyn taught Nancy to operate various printers as well as the preparation of periodicals. Israel Hernandez, Hernandez, Vice President of Christian Triumph Israel’s life began humbly in Mexico with his parents and siblings. After completing the sixth grade, he joined his sister and her in-laws in their fields, planting and harvesting. At age 16, Israel received God into his heart and believed that God would help him in all situations; even so, there was little change in his humble circumstances. After turning 24, Israel married a lovely young lady, Vitalina, and soon they had a little family. Then began the challenge of finding a way to raise their standard of living. In working with a church group, Israel went with them to Reynosa (Mexico). Walking half-way across the bridge between Mexico and the U.S.A., he dreamed of going to the U.S. some day. Before long, both Israel and Vitalina secured a tourists pass and visited Corpus Christi and San Antonio, eventually becoming acquainted with a man who worked in the Cotton industry. As a result, Israel began working in the cotton harvest, brought his

(s) drove on the grounds with a vehicle - pulled up the plants, and stole the fruits and vegetables. Most of us felt hurt and angry that someone would disregard all of Israel’s hard work. Yet in a day or so, Israel was found outside on his knees, planting once more. When asked why he would do so, he responded:
The victor is not always he Who runs with fastest pace. Or he who is most skillful Who enters in the race. Sometimes the weakest instrument Is chosen to perform, To run where God has called him, Sometimes in bleakest storm. For God sees not as man sees, He looks down deep inside, And sees some qualities of life That are gold and silver lined. His judgments are so different, And what looks good to us, May bear a lot of sham and dross That could never be a plus.
“The thieves might get hungry again.” This answer genuinely describes Israel’s gentle, Christ-like attitude. His life has been a great example to the Christian Triumph workers, and he capably fills the positions God has given him. As Director of the Spanish Bible Institute, he and his sister, Elena, work faithfully, administering the lessons. As Treasurer for the Hispanic Concilio of the Church of God in South Texas, he is valued and appreciated. Israel’s ethics in life are significant and impressive. In an interview with Donna Schillinger for the May 2001 Poor Magazine Online, he concluded with this statement, “To be successful in life, I have to have faith and love. They go hand in hand ….” Husband, Parent, Grandparent, Pastor, Treasurer, Radio Minister, Officer, and groundskeeper surely make busy days for Israel. But his patient, kind actions demonstrate the heart of a person who truly loves His God as he continually serves in this missionary labor of love. -nh

Even though my husband and I were the ones who should set a good example, I decided to seek legal advice, causing hurt and disappointment in my husband’s heart. Being a wise counselor, she advised me to pray but unfortunately, at that point, I was not considering prayer as the only alternative. In preparing to go forward with my legal plans, the Lord began to speak to me, and my heart began to soften. After all, I had been the one who professed to be a Christian. My husband who was kind and thoughtful was now greatly saddened. Before long, I telephoned the local florist and sent a dozen roses to my husband and his parents who usually ate their noon meal together. The card read, “I’m sorry; let’s be friends.” Even now, tears of joy flood my eyes. The enemy of our soul is out to destroy and mislead, but God will furnish us understanding and grace. That evening, my husband returned with 11 of those 12 roses, and I have never been sorry for yielding to the still sweet voice of the One who leads us into all truth. (edited) +
there are very few people that will not respond to the love of God in us. Power is in love because God is love, and love is the “container” of all the power. As Paul tells us – we have this treasure in the earthen vessel that the Excellencies of the power is of God. The love of God through our Lord is what saves us and by faith in Him is what keeps us so we can perform His works here and now. The love of God and the faith or the measure of faith that has been given unto us will cause a stir not only in your family but all of those that come in contact with you. There are children of God who say they love their children but do not correct them or teach them to honor others. Love is corrective – have you heard of tough love? Today, society has no time to raise their children as was intended by the Word of God. I understand the need to provide for the family; yet we neglect the rights of our children as parents – to guide them in their most impressive years of life. No one can influence a child like his parents. Can we leave our children to the teaching of someone else who might not know Jesus as their Lord? Our children are our responsibility to raise in the love of God. How would life be if Jesus Who is head of the body, the Church would neglect the Church and leave it to care for itself? So love with faith is essential to our welfare in this life – the agape kind of love. The applying of this love with faith is up to each one of us, to not only apply to our lives but the lives of our family, friends, and those around us. Faith in love is about application to our life, 24/7 and the rest of our life. So when we love our family and the family of God, we walk in newness of live and the washing of the water and the renewing of the Spirit is renewed every morning. Love never fails and we who walk in that love will never fail in our resolve to follow after the Spirit. So the conciliations of our soul and life are to fear God and follow after His commandments by following the Spirit of God. I hope and pray that the Spirit of God will manifest the truth to anyone who reads this because the Word is true and “the truth will set you free.” Amen.
LOVE WITH FAITH By George Bell (Continued –from the October Faith Messenger)
Love is accepting. Love is correcting; love is satisfying; love is providing; love is in believing. Love will never fail when applied from the heart of God through our life. Love demonstrates the presence of God; this love will cause a reaction in one’s life. We cannot show kindness without the Presence of God’s love in our life. The Apostle Paul said - be you angry but sin not - and when the love of God is operative in our life, we will not sin. So love will never fail and by faith we need to believe this. We will get angry yet the love of God will prevail and keep us in restraint. My grandmother was the most eventempered person I have ever known. When she was a child, her grandmother read to her out of a wornout Bible that was tied with string. This had an effect on her for all of her life and when she was in her later years, she demonstrated to her family this love in God – three fourths of her family has accepted the Lord. Love is the prevailing power in living a peaceful life. The love of God never fails;

use both for the purpose of manipulation and the satisfaction of the ego. The artist, writer, and dreamer whose imagination is extraordinary may suffer through moments of mental and emotional temptations. The confident, strong leader will, perhaps, be tested to use his abilities (as well as his brothers and sisters) for personal gain. In recognition of these challenges, Jesus stands ready to see us through difficult times. Emptiness, neediness, and loneliness are also fertile ground for the tempter. It is easy to search for ways to ease our emotional pain - while having faith during these times requires a great trust in the Lord. But God never leaves us; He always desires to help us, even though our openness to His will can be blinded by our needs. Running to the Father, falling before His Presence, believing in His Strength and Love can change things. Miracles happen as we cling to the Cross! In concluding our study of temptations, it is interesting to remember that no one witnessed Jesus’ testing; instead, He shared these events with His disciples and friends. He exposed his innermost, vulnerable being as He explained what happened in the wilderness. However, in doing so, Jesus was assuring each one of us that He understands that He will help us in our times of trials. Our struggles become His own. The Word says to “flee from evil”, and in doing so, we are invited to run to Jesus as His great arms of mercy wait to envelope our souls. Often, it requires the very Spirit of God to battle with temptation. Claiming the Blood of Jesus – the Cross of Calvary as our shield, we can triumph because of the One Who walked in our shoes. (Jesus!) Never give up and always remember that Jesus empowers, and Jesus forgives. +
A LOOK AT THE BOOK Of MATTHEW The temptations of Christ Chapter 4 - continued (Reference for this study comes from the Holy Bible as well as the book, The Gospel of Matthew, Volume 1 By William Barclay) Sensitive Christians often think that if their relationship with God was stronger, perhaps, they would not continue to experience temptations. Yet, this never occurred in Jesus life – from the beginning to the end of His earthly moments. Could this be the reason that Jesus stands ready to receive and help us in our personal struggles? He wants to help us for He understands; and He forgives as well. (1 John 2:1-2) Although Jesus had Godly powers, the temptations were also of great magnitude. After fasting 40 days and nights, the tempter met Jesus in His weakest moment, enticing Him to create that which would satisfy His desperate need (changing stones into bread). In addition, the evil one taunted Jesus, by bringing Him to the highest point of the Temple, mockingly inviting Him to throw Himself down. The evil one reminded Him that the Word says of God, the Father, “He will command His angels concerning you and they will lift you in their hands…” From a very high mountain, the tempter then offered Jesus all the magnificent kingdoms of the world if He would bow to the Evil one. Jesus responded, “Away from Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” Our souls are completely secure with Jesus; no evil force can snatch us from His hand. Jesus is Lord! God’s will for our lives is a successful relationship with Him. In our temptations, Jesus stands ready to run to our rescue for He paid the price for our souls with His precious blood. Finally, a word of caution must be added. As Jesus’ power was great, so were His temptations. Similarly, as our talents and gifts are noteworthy so will be our personal testing. The person who has beauty and charisma may, perhaps, be tempted to

Dear Christian Triumph – I am sending another box of Sunday school quarterlies. I am in hopes that you can use them in some way. We don’t like to dispose of them when they can maybe do some good to you…. God bless you, Alice (Oklahoma) From Mr. Eldred Raymond: I bought old second hand Bibles and books and took out the inside of old books to get the good hard back cover to put the old coverless Bible in - in its place and glued it back. I would send those to Africa and the Philippines, South & Central America. I brought some (others) with me to Costa Rica; that’s where I met Sister Evelyn about 37 years ago. I would throw Bibles out of train windows when I saw a group of people or leave one or two in train stations…one time the conductor of the train ask for a Bible so I sent him one. If I round up some more Bibles, I will write and let you know. Brother Raymond (California)
Remember to always say what you mean. If you love someone, tell them. Don't be afraid to express yourself. Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you. Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late. Seize the day. Never have regrets. This is a picture of a small country church in Missouri which requested used Sunday school quarterlies as well as children’s materials. (Postage was paid for by the church.) This little church is over 130 years old and has been closed for approximately 35 years. Four burdened persons opened the church again for the community and continue to hold services each Sunday. Please pray for this church as well as many others that are committed to spreading the Word of God.
