Why We Give

The gifts we give this time of year tend to be the kind someone wants. But some gifts we give are the kind someone needs —usually arriving at just the right time.

Christmas is a reminder that we serve a generous God who gave us the greatest gift we didn’t know we needed—the peace and hope of Jesus. But right now around the world, millions of people are missing peace and void of hope.

This is why every Christmas, we come together as a church to give a special offering that helps to fund our mission work throughout the year. Every dollar you give through your Christ Birthday Offering will go to those that need it most.

This Christmas, you can be a part of delivering a gift someone didn’t know they needed. The kind of gift that arrives at just the right time.

THIS YEAR, LET THERE BE HOPE AND PEACE ON EARTH —AND LET IT BEGIN HERE. 4

Ask God how He wants to use your generosity to give the gift of hope to those that need it most.

When we give to Christ Birthday Offering, through our mission projects in 2023, we’ll deliver the hope of Jesus all around the world.

Make Christmas last more than just one day by giving above your normal tithes and offerings in one of these ways: MATTHEW 12:21

Crisis Response

When a storm arrives or a disaster strikes, we’re positioned and prepared to mobilize alongside our partners on the ground—including relief organizations, local churches, and first responders—to aid in immediate relief efforts. Because of your Christ Birthday Offering, we’re able to deliver the hope of Jesus in the wake of seemingly hopeless situations.

“The partnership with Christ Fellowship continues to be so incredibly crucial to Convoy of Hope’s disaster operations globally. From hands-on, on-the-ground help to financial support and prayer, and packing containers so full of relief supplies and baby diapers they are hard even to unload—we’re equipped to serve more and serve faster because of your partnership and generosity.”

FORT MYERS

Fort Myers

Just days apart, Hurricane Fiona—the first major hurricane of the 2022 season—ravaged the Caribbean, and Hurricane Ian—one of the worst storms to ever hit Florida—brought devastating destruction to the Gulf Coast. In the aftermath of these storms, Christ Fellowship Missions was among the first on the ground to aid in immediate relief efforts. Through our strategic partnership with Convoy of Hope and Next Level Church, we were able to make a difference amidst disaster.

Through our 4th Saturday Serve hurricane prep, we had

13,050

hygiene and baby kits to deliver to families in need

Delivering Hope to...

Bob & Denise

How hope arrived at just the right time.

As teams from Christ Fellowship were going door-to-door in Cape Coral to locate families in need, they found Bob and Denise, a couple who has lived on the West Coast for over 50 years. They lost everything in their home, but Bob reflected on why 12 years prior was when he really lost everything—the unexpected death of his son. He said his son often shared his faith with him and would pray for him to find Jesus, something his son often referred to as a ‘miracle for his dad.’ While Bob said he didn’t understand what he had been missing all those years, he knows now that it’s the hope of Jesus.

“Today, you guys are my miracle. Seeing you show up to help a stranger is only proof of an answered prayer—for me, and for my son.”

UKRAINE

Ukraine

Within days of Russia invading Ukraine, millions of Ukrainian families had fled the country— marking it as ‘the swiftest refugee exodus of the century.’ Through our partners on the ground in Ukraine and surrounding countries, we were able to deliver peace amidst panic.

Through Convoy of Hope, we met refugees at the border in Poland to provide shelter, food, water, hygiene items, and other necessities.

In partnership with World Help, we delivered spiritual hope through the distribution of Bibles.

Through Joyce Meyer and the Hand of Hope ministry, we cared for women and children at the borders of Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Slovakia—and even the Hand of Hope office in Kyiv.

In partnership with Christine Caine and the Zoe Network of Churches, the global Church was uniquely positioned in Poland, Bulgaria, and Greece to meet the pressing needs in real-time of those displaced.

In just one weekend, through our churchwide Ukraine Diaper Drive, we delivered

310,000 diapers
for moms and children coming over the border in Poland.

Delivering Hope to… Irina

How a refugee is wearing hope on her sleeve.

At the border of Ukraine and Poland, our partners at Convoy of Hope noticed a woman who stood out from the crowd of refugees because she was dressed head-to-toe in all pink. This woman, Irina, had just fled Ukraine with her children after their city had been destroyed by bombings. Her husband, who stayed behind to join the Ukrainian military, had urged them to flee for safety. Irina shared how they left with nothing, but coming across the border to a warm meal and a place for her children to sleep in peace was the hope she needed. Our partners at Convoy of Hope said, “Irina radiates the kind of hope that only comes to the surface under these horrific circumstances.”

Children & Families

Your Christ Birthday Offering delivers hope to every home.

As we often say, in the race to the heart of the next generation, the first one there wins—and we want to get there first. This is why every day, we partner with leading organizations to reach every heart in every home with the hope of Jesus. Whether it’s a young mom searching for options for her unborn child, an orphan needing a safe place to sleep at night, or a foster parent preparing to open their door—your Christ Birthday Offering transforms generations and impacts eternities.

Caring for Children & Families

Through Children’s Impact Network, we provided a place to call home for 116 abandoned, abused, and neglected children in the countries of Chile, Honduras, and Bolivia.

In partnership with OneHope, just this year, we reached 136 million children and youth with the gospel—including 44 countries in the 10/40 window and translation into 148 different languages!

Through World Help, we rescued young girls in Thailand’s red-light district to help them break free from the bond of human trafficking.

In partnership with A21, just this year, over 118 victims of human trafficking were identified and set free, and over 200,000 minors were equipped with life-saving education, awareness, and prevention tools—including Ukrainian refugees, who are some of the most vulnerable to human trafficking.

Through Urban Youth Impact, every week, over 300 inner-city youth are equipped and empowered to fulfill their God-given purpose.

In partnership with India Gospel League, we helped bring the message of Jesus to over 25,000 children and families through 126 children’s homes, schools, daycare centers, and evening study centers scattered across South Asia.

Caring for Single Moms & Orphans

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade, and while we are grateful for what it means in the fight for life, we also recognize that it has implications for many. As a local church, we knew the resounding message of our house was that no matter where you fall on the spectrum of the Supreme Court decision—you are welcome here. And as the global Church, we knew that our work in caring for life— at every age and stage —is just getting started. For years, Christ Fellowship has partnered with several organizations that lead the way in caring for our communities by serving mothers, children, and foster families.

Through our continued partnership with Hearts for Moms, we’re helping break the cycle of poverty through a full-circle strategy that equips single moms with life skills and mentorships that increase their capacity for personal and spiritual growth. As Hearts for Moms supplements the cost of housing, childcare, education, transportation, and other basic needs, these moms are empowered to complete their education and/or work full-time.

Through CityHouse, we renovated 5 more houses for homeless single moms and their children to have a safe place to call home. We also began efforts to open up homes in the northern region.

Through Place of Hope, we provide neighborhoodstyle foster care with trained, live-in foster parents for sibling groups and children in need of specialized care. Since children in foster care often face placement disruptions, this method provides structure, stability, and consistency.

This year, during the First Care Walk for Life, we were able to surprise Michelle with a $2,500 check to help cover rent as they begin this new chapter as a family!

14

In partnership with 4Kids, we were a part of welcoming 385 children into a foster home this past year as we helped bring hope and healing to children in crisis.

We continued our support of crisis pregnancy centers throughout our region, like First Care Women’s Clinic, Care Net, and the Okeechobee Pregnancy Center, in their collective efforts to support women in need so they can choose life and care for their children.

Delivering Hope to... Michelle

How First Care is rewriting stories for moms.

Michelle was just 19 years old when she found out she was unexpectedly expecting. Having been raised in a Christian home, she was afraid to tell her parents about this unplanned pregnancy that would inevitably alter her plans. In fear of the unknown and where to go, Michelle decided to schedule an appointment to get an abortion— but while Googling “Abortion clinics near me,” another option kept popping up. That other option was First Care Women’s Clinic.

After being encouraged and equipped to face the road ahead through practical resources and prayer, Michelle’s plans changed yet again. She recently welcomed a baby girl named Angelena and is so grateful she chose life. Michelle and her baby’s father are now even planning their wedding. Michelle is just one of many women who have found hope through First Care, and Angelena is just one of many babies who are here today because of that hope.

“Seeing my baby’s heartbeat during the ultrasound felt like the first time I was meeting my child—and from that moment, I knew there was hope.”

Schools

Studies show that 94% of people who make the decision to follow Jesus will do so by the time they turn 18. But once a person reaches adulthood, that decision becomes increasingly rare, with 11% making the decision in their 20s and just 4% making the decision in their 30s. With over 270,000 students in public schools in Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties—we know that we have to reach students right where they are. This past year, because of your Christ Birthday Offering, God has opened the doors for us to deliver hope to the hallways in schools throughout our region.

Delivering Hope to...Katelyn

What First Priority is teaching the teachers.

When Katelyn first started teaching at Treasure Coast High School, First Priority was already making an impact on so many students’ lives. But once the seniors graduated and the teacher sponsor switched schools, the club had dissipated. Katelyn knew that God was calling her to fill that gap, so she stepped out in faith to lead the club as its teacher sponsor. One week, when a pastor named Ricky from Christ Fellowship came to share with the students, as he was sharing about his church, Katelyn felt like it was a place she could be a part of too. So while she originally set out to help students find their local church—Katelyn even ended up finding her own church through First Priority!

School Projects in Our Region

What began last year as a pre-game meal and pep talk from Coach Tom for Palm Beach Gardens High School Football has opened the door to 3 additional schools throughout Palm Beach County— Royal Palm Beach High School, Glades Central High School, and Santaluces High School —where 2,440 studentathletes take a knee in prayer before taking the field. And these student-athletes aren’t just making a difference in their sport, they’re making a difference through serving too!

Through 25 Days of Hope, we adopted 1,680 elementary school kids from low-income households across our region to put gifts under the Christmas tree for these students who wouldn’t otherwise have anything to open.

Through Speak Life End Bullying the Musical, we were a part of sharing this film with over 10,000 students as we partner with schools to end bullying together.

In partnership with First Priority, a catalyst for connecting students to Christ and the Church, our CFStudents team is a part of leading 79 Bible clubs in schools from Palm Beach County to Indian River County. This year, they even expanded to the Space Coast with 23 additional clubs!

Delivering Hope

3.8 billion. That’s the number of packages estimated to be delivered this Christmas season. But 3 billion is significant for another reason. It’s also the number of people in the world who have never heard the hope and message of Jesus.

It could be a meal for a child who doesn’t know where their next one is coming from. It could be shelter for a refugee who doesn’t have a place to lay their head that night. It could be an open door for a mom who doesn’t think she has any other options. We have the hope that people all around the world need to hear—and it can’t stay here. When you give your Christ Birthday Offering, you’re delivering a gift that lasts more than just one day.

Cities & First Responders

Your Christ Birthday Offering delivers hope to the heroes.

Leading a radical transformation for Jesus Christ in our region and beyond requires strong relationships with those leading the region. Through our partnerships with city officials and local law enforcement, we’re able to extend our reach throughout our communities and resource our region with help and hope. Whether it’s a helping hand at city events, hosting meals for fire departments, or honoring families of the fallen—it’s our privilege to be the first call for our first responders and the cities they serve. Because of your Christ Birthday Offering, we’re positioned to serve those who serve us by delivering hope to our everyday heroes.

Delivering Hope to...Laura

How a Palm Beach County Corrections Officer found purpose in her pain.

A few years ago, Laura found herself in a dark place due to the demands of her job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid long days and late nights, she was suffering over the loss of several close coworkers and struggling to keep her daughter on the right path with an inconsistent schedule. One day during her shift, a local church showed up with boxes of encouragement for first responders. Laura said that simple reminder that someone cared stuck with her, and that Christmas, it was what prompted her to look up the church where the delivery came from. Laura and her daughter are now part of Christ Fellowship Downtown West Palm Beach, and she says that Christ Fellowship not only changed her life—it changed the trajectory of her daughter’s life too.

The Power of Partnership: City of Palm Beach Gardens

In April of 2022, Pastors Todd & Julie, along with Christ Fellowship Missions Director Becky Kyle, were in attendance at the Palm Beach Gardens City Council meeting when they received a surprise recognition by the Mayor of Palm Beach Gardens and other city officials.

“We are here today to recognize a valued community partner. Since 2017, Christ Fellowship has lightened the burdens of our staff and our residents while promoting positivity and selflessness in the process. Whether it’s providing critical supplies to families in need, ensuring our community events are the best they can be, or even helping us be good neighbors to our sister cities around the state, Christ Fellowship demonstrates true civic leadership. No matter how great or small, when asked or even not asked, Christ Fellowship steps up to serve our community in numerous capacities. In recognition of your partnership, we’ve placed a brick at the entrance to City Hall to commemorate your commitment to our community.”

“Words would not come close to describing the partnership with Christ Fellowship and our city. This church is our first call, and our city is their first call— never asking to be served, but to serve. This partnership is second to none, working together as the government and the Church.”

“Christ Fellowship is instrumental in the coordination of many events for our residents to enjoy, and they are a joy to work with. With a community partner like Christ Fellowship, impossible tasks are made possible.”

Hunger Relief

Your Christ Birthday Offering delivers hope to the hungry.

Did you know there is more than enough food produced in the world to feed everyone on the planet? Yet every day, 1 out of 9 people goes to bed hungry. Although there had been significant progress in the global fight against hunger, that progress was disrupted in recent years due to conflict, crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic. While the reality is heavy, every day throughout the year, we’re a part of countless initiatives that help deliver hope to the hungry—one meal at a time.

This past year, because of your Christ Birthday Offering, we delivered basic needs in order to fulfill the greatest need—the hope and message of Jesus.

How Make a Meal makes a difference.

At just 5 years old, Rosmery wasn’t in school memorizing the things she learned that day. Instead, she was memorizing which days garbage was taken to the dump so she could search for any leftover food. But after finding Convoy of Hope’s feeding center in Honduras, Rosmery now spends her time learning and eating with friends at school—memorizing Bible verses and knowing the hope she’s found through Jesus.

Helping to Solve the World Water Crisis by 2030

In remote villages throughout Africa, villagers spend much of their days searching for clean water just to survive—neglecting school, work, and often, even their own families. In partnership with WorldServe, we are seeking to help solve the world water crisis by 2030—which would mean universal and equitable access to clean water for every person on the planet. Last year, our Christ Fellowship Kids and CFStudents gave their Christ Birthday Offering to build a sustainable, solar-powered water well in Mfyome Village in the Iringa Region of Tanzania that now provides daily clean water for 3,061 villagers.

Over the summer during MVMNT Camp, our CFStudents did small things to serve their local communities in big ways. Whether it was providing warm meals to the homeless at St. George’s Kitchen or surprising people in need with their groceries for the week— these middle and high school students were able to help decrease hunger all across our region and increase hope through the love and message of Jesus.

Every dollar you give to Christ Birthday Offering will make a difference toward continuing our impact both locally and globally, and supporting additional initiatives like these… Vision 2023 32

In partnership with Embrace a Village, we will sponsor a colony of people in India affected by leprosy by providing spiritual, medical, nutritional, and educational programs. We will also support a shoe van ministry as they travel to different villages providing critical supportive footwear for leprosy patients in need.

Through one of the largest evangelism campaigns in America called “He Gets Us,” we will be a part of sharing the hope of Jesus with millions of people—including during the 2023 Super Bowl. We will also help connect those who engage with the campaign to local churches in their community, including Christ Fellowship.

In partnership with Convoy of Hope, we will continue to be among the first on the ground bringing hope amidst disasters and feeding over 550,000 kids in 32 different countries on a daily basis.

Through our various partners around the world, Christ Fellowship Missions is preparing to resume international mission trips in Africa, Asia, and South and Central America.

Every Christmas, we come together as a church to celebrate what we were able to do for Jesus, and to dream together of what we can do in the coming year. But your Christ Birthday Offering is more than just an offering—it propels these projects that will bring hope and peace to people around the world.

Because for every child who has a warm meal to eat, we know there are more still hungry. For every refugee who has a place to sleep, we know there are more still sleeping on the streets. For every mom who can care for her children, we know there are more still in need of support.

There are so many gifts we will give this Christmas. Let’s make our Christ Birthday Offering the greatest gift because we know its impact will outlast and outlive any other gift we give.

This Christmas, let’s be carriers of peace and deliverers of hope.
