Each one is professionally printed on high-quality paper and hand-packaged with a coordinating colored envelope, sealed in a clear plastic sleeve, and marked with a special “works with AR” sticker that prompts customers to turn the card over and read instructions for how to download the free Kineticards app.

INSIDE: A small message is printed on the upper left corner inside every card, just in case the receiver doesn’t see the instructions on the back right away.

our story During her senior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Chrissy Eckman decided to reach for the stars and create a brand that combined all of her biggest passions — design, illustration, typography, animation, branding, and marketing — into one project: Kineticards. It began as a school assignment, but has since evolved into an entire company.

In January 2018, she returned to Savannah to launch her LLC through the guidance of SCAD+, a fully immersive alumni entrepreneur program. She was selected as one of their very first participants and spent six months working to refine the concept of Kineticards, build a larger collection, and release the app.

Today, Chrissy continues to grow the brand full-time in her design studio, with lots of new cards and other fresh ideas always brewing. She works with a team of developers who handle the AR app while she creates all designs and animations from start to finish. A piece of her heart lives in each one.

As a company, it is our mission to put positive art into the world and build products that help strengthen real human connections in this digital age. We hope our cards give you the warmest and fuzziest of feelings, and we hope they do the same to whoever receives them. They’re called Kineticards because of the root word “kinetic,” meaning related to motion — we want our designs to move not only in the animated sense, but also emotionally, charged with the power to move all of their viewers.
