FLOORPLANS AND GENERAL ARRANGEMENT

Blackbird, a large-scale commercial project in Yeovil, presented an exciting opportunity to design a new staff canteen. The initial phase involved meticulously crafting floor plans to optimise the space for functionality and flow.

FLOOR FINISHES AND REFLECTED CEILING PLAN

Next came specifying the floor finishes, selecting materials that were both aesthetically pleasing and durable for high-traffic areas. Reflected ceiling plans were also developed to create a sense of spaciousness and incorporate modern lighting elements.

PHOTOREALISTIC RENDERS

Once the client was happy with the comprehensive layout, used SketchUp and Twinmotion to generate renders. These visualisations were instrumental in bringing the project to life for the client. They could not only envision the new layout but also see how the chosen furniture would integrate seamlessly into the space, creating a welcoming and functional environment for all staff to enjoy.

PHOTOREALISTIC RENDERS

The visualisations extend beyond a single static image, offering a dynamic exploration of the entire project. Viewers can virtually navigate through a variety of perspectives, from a welcoming wide shot showcasing the entire canteen layout to close-up details that highlight specific design elements. This immersive experience goes a step further by strategically incorporating figures throughout the space. These individuals act as stand-ins, providing a real-world sense of scale for the furniture and overall dimensions. This not only allows the client to clearly understand how much space each element occupies but also helps visualise how people will interact and flow within the canteen. Furthermore, the visualisations accurately depict the chosen colour palette, ensuring the client has a clear understanding of the overall aesthetic before construction begins.

Janus Henderson

Janus Henderson, a leading financial services firm, approached us with the task of revitalising their in-house canteen at their London headquarters. The existing space, while functional, lacked the modern amenities and inviting atmosphere desired by their employees.

Janus Henderson

Our client’s vision was to create a significantly expanded canteen that catered to a wider range of needs. This included increasing the overall square footage to accommodate a larger capacity, fostering a sense of spaciousness, and promoting comfortable interaction amongst staff.

Furthermore, Janus Henderson expressed a strong desire to incorporate new joinery throughout the space. This not only addressed the practical need for additional seating and display areas, but also presented an opportunity to introduce a fresh aesthetic.

By carefully selecting materials and finishes for the joinery, we aimed to create a visually appealing environment that complemented the overall design concept.

Smart Pensions, a forward-thinking provider of pension solutions, enlisted our expertise to transform the reception area at their London headquarters. The company’s space requirements had undergone a significant shift due to the impact of COVID-19.

With a substantial portion of their workforce embracing remote work practices, Smart Pensions found themselves with surplus office space. In anticipation of subletting these floors, they sought to redesign the reception area to reflect this new reality.

The new design brief emphasised warmth and neutrality, prioritising a comfortable and inviting environment that would make a positive first impression on all visitors. By achieving this balance, Smart Pensions hoped to foster a sense of professionalism while also acknowledging the evolving needs of their organisation.

Garratt Lane Apartments

Garrett Lane Apartments embarked on an ambitious project to revitalise a former high-street restaurant by transforming it into three distinct apartments.

The initial phase involved conducting a comprehensive site survey. This meticulous process entailed precisely measuring the existing space, capturing crucial architectural details, and identifying any potential constraints that might influence the design layout. The data gathered during the site survey provided the foundation for us to develop detailed floor plans. These floor plans served as a blueprint for the project, clearly illustrating the configuration of each apartment, including the designated spaces for bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, and bathrooms.

With the floor plans finalised, we then leveraged our expertise in 3D animation to create a truly immersive experience for prospective buyers. These compelling animations showcased each flat in its full glory, even before construction had completed. By virtually transporting viewers through the space, complete with furniture and design elements, we aimed to spark the imaginations of potential buyers and allow them to envision themselves living in their dream apartment.
