STEAM IGNITING CREATIVITY | EMPOWERING MINDS

2023-2024

WELCOME Welcome to the exciting world of Technology and STEAM! We’re thrilled to have you on board as we embark on a journey that fuses creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. In this dynamic realm, the possibilities are as vast as the digital landscape itself. Whether you’re passionate about coding, engineering, designing, or constructing, you’ll find a home where your curiosity can flourish and your skills can soar. Just like the interconnected gears of a well-designed machine, our community thrives on collaboration. You’re not just a participant; you’re an integral part of a team that’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. From robotics to data science, from designing virtual worlds to unraveling the mysteries of the universe, there’s something for everyone. Expect to be challenged, inspired, and, most importantly, encouraged to dream big. In the world of Technology and STEAM, innovation knows no bounds. As you dive into projects, experiments, and collaborative endeavors, remember that every obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow. Our esteemed faculty of tech educators and industry professionals are not just mentors; they are catalysts for technological exploration. Students draw inspiration from the experiences carefully crafted by their teachers, both inside the lab and beyond. 2 | NORTH BROWARD PREPARATORY SCHOOL

North Broward students code their aspirations into reality, engineer solutions to real-world challenges, and let their imaginations run wild. The world of Technology and STEAM is theirs to explore, and we can’t wait to see the incredible contributions they’ll make. Welcome to a future where innovation knows no limits! Best regards, Ariel Jespersen

MIT COLLABORATION THE MIT-NORD ANGLIA COLLABORATION The collaboration between Nord Anglia Education (NAE) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks to enhance teaching, learning, and student outcomes in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The MIT–Nord Anglia Collaboration is designed to prepare students for our rapidly evolving world, equipping them with the skills and techniques to thrive.

MIT CULTURE

NAE-MIT STUDENT TRIP

We are inspired by MIT innovation and culture, and we champion interdisciplinary collaboration, student-driven passion, and authentic problem-solving. We recognize the value of failure and failing fast to contribute to and solidify our learning.

High school students interested in STEAM have the exciting opportunity to attend a week-long trip to MIT. Students learn from professors, interact with Curiosity Correspondents, and collaborate with students from around the world on interdisciplinary projects.

LEARNING INSPIRED BY MIT Each year, the MIT Team creates three challenges that bring active MIT research into Nord Anglia classrooms to inspire students through the same Mens et Manus (Mind and Hand) ethos that guides MIT faculty and students. Learning is also supported by monthly MIT Abstracts showcasing graduate research, fun science and engineering MIT Home Labs, and the chance to stay curious through Ask MIT.

OPENING WORLDS OF SELF Tackling complex challenges requires a creative mindset. The MIT collaboration provides inspiration for big ideas, explored in multiple ways. NORTH BROWARD PREPARATORY SCHOOL | 19

MIT CHALLENGES 2023-2024 BUILD BETTER

The MIT-Nord Anglia Collaboration bridges MIT research labs and NBPS classrooms, inspiring students and faculty with hands-on, interdisciplinary explorations of real-world problems. In the 2023-2024 school year, we explore the work of three exciting MIT experts who hope to build a better world.
