GROUP PRESIDENT'S REPORT

GROUP PRESIDENT'S report

Members may recall that in my last report I highlighted the opening of our state-of-the-art 18-hole Mini Golf Course at Lynwood Golf and Country Club. It has been wonderful to see so many members and their families enjoying this new facility, which has quickly become a favourite addition to the club.

Financially, CHRG continues to trade profitably which enables us to reinvest in both our facilities and our community. In the past year, we proudly contributed a record $3.73 million in support of local sporting and community initiatives across the regions we serve. This milestone reflects our commitment to giving back and ensuring our success benefits the wider community.

“ONE OF OUR STANDOUT ACHIEVEMENTS THIS YEAR WAS THE COMPLETION OF THE STATE-OF-THE-ART MINI GOLF COURSE AT LYNWOOD GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB...PROVIDING FUN AND ENJOYMENT TO MEMBERS OF ALL AGES.”

As we reflect on the past year, I am proud to share how Castle Hill RSL Group (CHRG) has continued to thrive, innovate, and serve our 100,000 members despite the challenges facing the broader economy. Our community’s resilience, combined with the dedication of our 1,000 staff and contractors, has enabled us to deliver exceptional experiences, maintain strong financial stewardship, and remain focused on the future.

Our commitment to enhancing CHRG facilities continues, with the construction of an all-weather cover and synthetic carpet bowling green at Castle Hill Bowling Club. This new development will allow members to enjoy bowls year-round, day or night, without disruption from adverse weather. Many members have followed its progress with great interest, and we are delighted to be opening this facility shortly.

While many households across Australia have felt the impact of rising costs—whether through higher electricity bills, insurance premiums, or everyday expenses—we have worked hard to ensure that our venues remain welcoming, accessible, and a source of enjoyment for all. High-interest rates have certainly tested young families and those entering the housing market, but we’ve also seen positive outcomes for some of our retired members, who have benefited from the changes to help manage their living expenses.

The Group’s dedication to promoting sport is evident in these major projects, as well as the ongoing renovations and upgrades across our sports and aquatic operations at Castle Hill. With over 800,000 participants across our sport venues in the past year, CHRG continues to play an important role in fostering health, fitness and community connection.

One of our standout achievements this year was the completion of the state-of-the-art Mini Golf Course at Lynwood Golf & Country Club, which is already providing fun and enjoyment to members of all ages. In addition, our team worked tirelessly to restore the main golf course following devastating floods earlier in the year. Now, as we enter the spring season, the course looks magnificent—thanks to the dedication and expertise of our Golf team.

We were particularly pleased to welcome our veteran community back into Club Parramatta following a period off-site during the demolition and redevelopment of the old club. The presence of veterans is not only valued but deeply significant to CHRG, as their service and sacrifice represent the very foundation of our organisation’s existence. We extend our heartfelt thanks for your service to our country, and for the enduring role you play in the life of our clubs.

Another exciting development is the recent approval for the construction of a multi-level car park at Castle Hill RSL Club. Once completed, this new facility will provide our members with convenient, undercover parking, ensuring protection from the elements and easy access to the Club. While the approval process took longer than expected, we are confident that the final design, which considers the needs of our neighbours, will be a great addition to the area and improve the overall experience for everyone.

We are equally proud of the strong growth in patronage across our hospitality venues, and it is pleasing to see so many members taking advantage of the dining, entertainment, and social experiences we offer. On behalf of the Board, I thank you sincerely for your continued support of CHRG.

Throughout it all, CHRG has continued its strong tradition of supporting the community, with total contributions to local projects and first-class facilities reaching $3.18 million. These investments demonstrate our unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for our members and surrounding communities.

Looking ahead, your Board is progressing the development of the approved undercover car park at Castle Hill, with construction expected to commence by mid-2026. This will provide members with the convenience of undercover access directly into Castle Hill RSL Club, mirroring the ease of access already enjoyed at Club Parramatta. Following the completion of this project, we are planning to move forward with the development of the residential lifestyle development, marking an exciting next chapter for the Group.

In addition to the car park, another development was recently approved by Hills Shire Council, which will see the imminent enhancement of the Bowling Club with an all-weather awning over the Green located closest to the clubhouse.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, commitment and professionalism of my fellow Directors who work tirelessly alongside the Group CEO, Mr David O’Neil, and his executive team, along with the many staff, whose daily interactions with members ensure that every visit to our venues is welcoming, enjoyable and memorable.

As we look to the future, we remain committed not only to growth and innovation, but also to the values that define CHRG – community, hospitality, respect and growth. Our ongoing investment in facilities and services will strengthen the experiences we offer, but it is the people who bring our clubs to life – our members, our staff, our sporting groups, and our veterans – who will always remain at the heart of what we do. Thank you for your continued trust and support as we shape the next chapter together.

"AS WE LOOK TO THE FUTURE, WE REMAIN COMMITTED NOT ONLY TO GROWTH AND INNOVATION, BUT ALSO TO THE VALUES THAT DEFINE CHRG – COMMUNITY, HOSPITALITY, RESPECT AND GROWTH"

Castle Hill RSL Club Ltd. (CHRG)

GROUP CEO report

CHRG – an acronym for Community, Hospitality, Respect and Growth – is a progressive and evolving organisation. Operating under Castle Hill RSL Club Ltd., we manage four registered clubs, a major fitness and aquatic centre, a golf course, and bowling greens across three Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Each venue is uniquely tailored to the needs of its local community, and our Group is well-positioned for future growth and innovation. While our structure is multi-faceted, our purpose remains clear: to deliver meaningful services, facilities, and support to our members and the wider community.

The 2024/25 financial year was both challenging and rewarding, with the Group delivering a strong result despite ongoing economic pressures and rising operational costs.

The Group achieved a net profit after tax of $4,697,535, compared to $4,270,050 in the prior year – an increase of 10%. This result includes:

• EBITDAD of $25,940,200 (2024: $23,319,899)

• Depreciation and amortisation of $14,408,455 (2024: $12,782,577)

• Finance costs of $3,144,987 (2024: $3,126,481)

• Donations of $3,730,049 (2024: $3,186,162)

• Gain on disposal of assets of $40,826 (2024: $45,371)

These financial results reflect careful management and a commitment to balancing financial strength with community responsibility, as our community support goes beyond obligation. CHRG continues to exceed its legislated responsibilities, providing vital support to the communities across the Hills, Hawkesbury, and Parramatta regions.

In the 2025 financial year, CHRG contributed $3.73 million (2024: $3.186 million) to a wide range of sporting, social and infrastructure initiatives. While our statutory obligation is significantly lower, we firmly believe that investing in our communities is central to our identity and long-term purpose.

It is important to note that this year, a significant portion of community contributions sit outside the traditional ClubGRANTS framework. This shift follows a recent re-interpretation of the legislation, which now limits how Castle Hill RSL Club and Club Parramatta can provide support to financially disadvantaged clubs, their communities, and other worthy initiatives.

In response, the Board has adopted a proactive policy to ensure continued support for these underserved communities within the local government areas (LGAs) in which we operate. This includes substantial contributions with a strong focus on sport and youth development programs, helping to build capacity and opportunity where it is needed.

“ THE BOARD HAS ADOPTED A PROACTIVE POLICY TO ENSURE CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR THESE UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS"
“CHRG IS MORE THAN A BUSINESS – IT IS AN ENDURING INSTITUTION BUILT ON STRONG FOUNDATIONS AND A CLEAR PURPOSE. EVERY DECISION WE MAKE TODAY IS WITH THE NEXT 10, 20, EVEN 50 YEARS IN MIND.”

CHRG is proud to support a wide range of community initiatives. These include large-scale investments in sporting infrastructure, grassroots sports programs, veteran services, and targeted support initiatives. In addition to our longstanding commitment to sport and veterans’ welfare, this year we placed a particular emphasis on supporting programs aimed at addressing domestic and family violence, recognising the urgent need for action and prevention in this space.

Our commitment to community is not just a responsibility – it’s a reflection of who we are.

Our operations have continued to grow in strength, with Castle Hill RSL Club and Club Parramatta delivering outstanding results.

Membership numbers have grown substantially in recent years, now exceeding 100,000 members. This increase is largely attributed to improved member engagement, most notably through our “Member Forever” campaign – a program that rewards continued member loyalty and aims to remove common barriers to club access and enjoyment.

Our focus on seamless member experience, from entry to point of sale, continues to differentiate CHRG from others in the sector. We strive to tailor the member experience to the members requirements and not just a “one shoe fits all”.

Infrastructure

and Facility Development

CHRG continues to invest in the future of our communities by delivering high-quality, modern facilities that meet the evolving needs of our members and guests. Our commitment goes beyond maintenance – we are focused on creating sustainable, welcoming spaces that enhance lifestyle, leisure, sport, and hospitality experiences across all venues.

This year, significant progress has been made on major infrastructure projects and facility upgrades, each designed to improve accessibility, strengthen community connections, and ensure our services remain at the highest standard for years to come.

Multi-Storey Car Park Project

We are finalising the construction certificate and documentation for an 860-space integrated car park. This significant infrastructure project will pave the way for our Residential Lifestyle Development, combining leisure, sport, and hospitality offerings.

Castle Hill Fitness & Aquatic Centre

We have invested heavily in this essential community facility, including a major upgrade to the large pool and the addition of a Reformer Pilates studio. We are now preparing for the complete

rebirth of the male and female change room and bathroom facilities at the sports centre. This includes the addition of new steam rooms, infra-red saunas, and upgraded amenities, improving the experience for all users.

Castle Hill Bowling Club

Since amalgamation, we have made significant investments in the premises addressing several maintenance and compliance issues. We are now focused on long term capital improvement, including a $2.5 million redevelopment. This features an all-weather roof and a woven carpet playing surface on the main green – creating internationalstandard infrastructure for the local community. The bowling facility will not be limited by weather or daylight, and it will have the potential to significantly grow grass roots, corporate and charitable bowls, and be a pathway for mainstream bowls.

Lynwood Golf & Country Club

Despite the challenges of recurring floods and abnormal weather patterns, we remain committed to this vital sporting asset. Recent investments include upgrades to the golf course, driving range, and new course equipment. As one of the few publicly accessible championship-quality golf courses in Northwest Sydney and the Hawkesbury, Lynwood plays an essential role in community sport and recreation infrastructure for the region.

Future Refurbishments

In early 2026, we plan a major refurbishment of the Courtyard Kitchen, Cafe and bar operations at Castle Hill RSL Club and this will be the most significant upgrade to these popular areas for the past decade. This will include modernisation of décor, amenities, and service areas to align with contemporary member expectations, and our lifestyle-focused strategy.

The achievements of the past year are a direct result of the dedication, professionalism, and collaborative efforts of our Board, management, and staff.

I extend my sincere thanks to President John Payne and the Board of Directors for their continued strategic guidance and support. It is a privilege to work with such a committed and professional Board – each member consistently places our members, community, and staff at the heart of their decision-making.

To the Senior Leadership Team – Nadeem Ali, Allan DePaoli, Denis Sullivan, Andrew Kelly, Brett Andrews, and Alison Brinkman – thank you for your ongoing dedication and professionalism. It is a pleasure to work alongside such high-calibre professionals, each of whom I regard as leaders in their respective fields. I firmly believe this is the strongest management team I have worked with in my career, and we definitely could not have achieved the results we have without your diligence and expertise.

A special acknowledgment to Group COO, Andy Abey. Her unwavering leadership and exceptional capacity to deliver high-quality outcomes have been pivotal in driving key projects and navigating challenges throughout the year. Andy’s professionalism has contributed significantly to our success.

I also extend my gratitude to Executive Assistant Christine Duffy, whose behind-the-scenes support of the Board, Executive Team, and myself has been delivered with unfailing dedication and professionalism.

Most importantly, I recognise the incredible team across all CHRG venues. Our long-serving operational managers, employees, partners and contractors who continue to demonstrate

outstanding loyalty, care, and service. Time and again, they have gone above and beyond for our members and community. CHRG is fortunate to be supported by such a strong and committed operational team, and I sincerely appreciate every one of their efforts. CHRG has undergone significant transformation over the past decade. And as we look to the future, we do so with confidence and a commitment to continued innovation, community support, and operational excellence.

CHRG is more than a business – it is an enduring institution built on strong foundations and a clear purpose. And every decision we make today is with the next 10, 20, even 50 years in mind.

Our Board’s focus extends well beyond short-term financial results; our commitment to land, sporting facilities and community infrastructure is a longterm investment in people and place, and the benefits will be felt for generations.

Through ongoing investment in our amenities, facilities and diversification strategies, we are ensuring CHRG’s sustainability and relevance well into the future. This enables us to remain steadfast in supporting our core commitments in sport, sporting infrastructure, Veteran services, and vital community services initiatives.

To our members, staff, partners, and community stakeholders – thank you for your trust and support. CHRG’s achievements are not ours alone; they are shared. Together, we are shaping a legacy of growth, innovation, and service.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to leading with purpose and care, building a future that strengthens both our organisation and the communities we proudly serve.

“WE ARE FOCUSED ON CREATING SUSTAINABLE, WELCOMING SPACES THAT ENHANCE LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, SPORT, AND HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCES ACROSS ALL VENUES.”

WE RESPECT

OUR heritage

OUR HERITAGE WAS BUILT BY RETURNED SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN, AND WE PROUDLY HONOUR THEIR LEGACY THROUGH RESPECT, REMEMBRANCE, AND COMMUNITY. THEIR SPIRIT AND SACRIFICE CONTINUE TO INSPIRE ALL THAT WE DO TODAY.

CASTLE HILL & DISTRICT RSL sub-branch

“WE’RE DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO ALL MEMBERS WHO GAVE THEIR TIME AND ENERGY THIS YEAR. YOUR COMMITMENT KEEPS OUR SUB-BRANCH RUNNING STRONG.”

As we come to the end of another remarkable year, I’m filled with pride and gratitude. Our sub-Branch continues to grow, not just in numbers but in spirit, purpose, and community. We are united by service, strengthened by camaraderie, and driven by a shared commitment to honour those who have served and support those who continue to serve Castle Hill & District RSL sub-Branch.

With nearly 500 members, our sub-Branch continues to thrive. The growing participation of younger veterans is bringing fresh energy to our programs and helping us modernise. We’re proud to provide a welcoming and supportive space for all generations of service personnel and their families.

I would like to extend my thanks to the Executive Team, who have worked tirelessly in modernising our systems. A heartfelt thanks to Vice President Personnel Paul Haris-Walker, Vice President Commemoration Rees John, Secretary Phillip Bridie AM, ADC and Treasurer Steven Beech for their unwavering loyalty to the sub-Branch. I would also like to welcome Chris Agrulua as Assistant Treasurer and acknowledge Katherine Kirk for her outstanding efforts throughout the year. A special thanks to Chris Bennett for his contribution to RSL Tributes.

While Chris is stepping down from the role, we are grateful for his service and pleased to welcome Canon Rev. Colin Aikin, who will take on this important responsibility moving forward. Our committee, along with the Sport and Recreation, Events Management, Wellbeing Teams and Trustees, continues to make a real difference in everything we do. We’re deeply grateful to all members who gave their time and energy this year. Your commitment keeps our sub-Branch running strong.

Our Commemoration ceremonies were especially meaningful this year, thanks to Vice President Commemoration, Rees John and his team. The Remembrance Day service, held at the entrance of Castle Hill RSL Club, was well attended, followed by our Australia Day Flag Planting Ceremony at Castle Hill Cemetery and a larger ceremony at Castlebrook Memorial Gardens in Rouse Hill, both of which were warmly received by the community.

Rees’ unwavering dedication to our ANZAC Day Service, which was themed around the MEAO Conflicts, attracted about 8,000 people at Wrights Road Reserve and was live streamed. We had a flyover by a Hercules C-130, although it was a little eerie in the fog. Our members also represented the

sub-Branch at ceremonies held at Martin Place, Hyde Park Memorial, North Head, the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk, St John of God, Seven Hills and Parramatta RSL, paying respects to the fallen.

We remain committed to providing training in wellbeing and compensation, and maintaining annual contact with all sub-Branch members. Our advocacy, wellbeing and compensation team guides veterans through the often complex DVA system, escalating cases when needed to ensure resolution. Our Welfare Support Officers (WSO) routinely visit veterans and their families in local hospitals and aged care facilities. We sincerely thank all volunteers for their invaluable support in this important work.

In September 2025, Ann Brown, mother of Jason Brown, who lost his life in the service of our Country, and who our Memorabilia room is named after, unveiled a plaque in the Rose Garden on Wrights Road in Kellyville, honouring the services of the members who served in Afghanistan. Next year, we will begin upgrading the Memorial on Wrights Road, a project expected to take up to two years to complete.

Earlier this year in January, Katherine Kirk, our Administrative Assistant, was honoured with the Hills Shire Council Citizen of the Year Award for her all-round volunteer efforts, particularly in media and Sport & Recreation activities. I was also honoured to receive the 2025 NSW Senior Volunteer Award, which followed with a morning tea celebration hosted by Mark Hodges MP, State Member for Castle Hill.

Malcolm Botfield was awarded OAM in the King’s Birthday Honours for his long-standing contributions as a Life Member of the sub-Branch.

This year, we also had the honour of presenting Life Memberships to:

• John Payne, President of CHRG and long-standing Trustee of the sub-Branch

• Barry Pareezer, our Social Secretary

• Chas Naylor, a former assistant Secretary and current Welfare Officer.

Don Tait OAM also received Life Membership of the Vietnam Veterans Peace Makers and Peacekeepers Central Coast sub-Branch Incorporated, Ettalong Beach and Bruce David Robertson was awarded his 60-year RSL Membership Certificate. We also presented 50-year membership certificates to Claude Zavattaro, Arthur James, and John Gerber.

We also presented 'Thank You for Your Service' quilts to Barry Russ, Chris Bennett, Paul Gari, and David Wood. These beautiful quilts are lovingly crafted by the Ladies of our Auxiliary, with many members designing and sewing the squares, which are then assembled and trimmed by Ann O’Connor, Ann Smith, Marilyn Stoneham and myself.

Our Auxiliary continues to grow, now including a few male members, and our Families of Veterans group, run by Ann O’Connor, is expanding, strengthening our support network for service personnel and their families.

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the CHRG Board President John Payne, the Board of Directors, Group CEO David O’Neil, Group COO Andy Abey and all the Castle Hill RSL Club Managers and staff for their continued and invaluable support throughout the year. Their assistance is critical to enabling the sub-Branch to fulfil its mission of supporting Veterans and their families.

Castle Hill & District RSL sub-Branch

CITY OF PARRAMATTA RSL SUB-BRANCH report

2025 has seen the continued successful operation of the sub-Branch, and throughout this year, we have seen our membership slowly growing with contemporary veterans and affiliate members.

There has been a focus on conducting more socially focused activities so that our Veteran and Affiliate Members have a more active social calendar along with improved fitness. Our sub-Branch continues to have our monthly Wellness Walks that are well attended. There has also been morning teas and family BBQ’s. As we go into the end of the year, we will be holding our first term of exercise for seniors.

Our spring dinner continues to grow in popularity, and all who attended took the opportunity to dust off the Evening Wear and enjoy the event. We also continue to grow in numbers, attending the monthly General Meetings. We continually have a full house of 40+ people and are often searching for extra chairs. It is always pleasing to see large numbers attend any activity.

ANZAC Day Dawn Service 2025 was also hailed as a huge success. Again, popularity and support within the local community continue to grow. We had our first ANZAC Day March in 7 years. To allow this to happen, we had immense support from The Lancer Regiment, who led our March from The Parramatta Town Centre to Prince Alfred Park. As ANZAC Day approached, our friends from the Lancers and in particular the Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class One Shane Smith, and our Executive Team, worked closely to coordinate the Lancer Regiment leading our March.

Approximately 130 of the Lancers, and a large Veteran Contingent marched on the morning and it was a truly remarkable sight. We all managed to keep in step with the beat provided by the Lancers own Drum Corp. Our sub-Branch Chaplain, Monsignor John Boyle, again capably led our Dawn Service. Our guest speaker, the Commanding Officer of the 1st / 15th Royal New South Wales Lancer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Gregory Barter, gave the Annual ANZAC Address. For the

The Drum Corps from the 1/15 Lancer Regiment at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service March >

Return March to the Club, we had the City of Parramatta RSL Caledonian Pipe Band, again, what an impressive sight for all to see as we all marched back to Club Parramatta.

Of course, the support of New South Wales Police from The Parramatta Local Area Command, meant we were safe and ensured no disruptions occurred during the March and the ceremony. The Parramatta City Council were also instrumental in the organisation and preparation of Prince Alfred Park and the Cenotaph. Incidentally, there were approximately 7,500 people from the local area in attendance. We also had a very successful Remembrance Day last November, albeit significantly smaller in size than ANZAC Day, but no less important.

Again, our annual commitment to providing preANZAC Day Services to local aged care facilities and schools must also be mentioned. Our members do an outstanding job and go to a lot of effort to make sure suitable commemorations are held in as many aged care facilities as we can manage. We had sub-Branch Representation at ANZAC Day services conducted at Westmead Hospital, Thales Defence Industries and the Department of Education. Similarly, Remembrance Day also attracted a significant effort by the sub-Branch members in the local community with services and commemorations.

Our sub-Branch Committee is very active with behind-the-scenes activities. Various meetings and representation at the Far Western Metropolitan District Council (FWMDC), our own Governance and Executive meetings, seem to occupy a large portion of our days. Our sub-Branch also hosts a FWMDC meeting annually in May. Our sub-Branch is further represented at the annual NSW RSL State Congress by select Committee Executives and this year we will be hosted in Tamworth. Our social media platform continues to operate, as does our curatorship of our memorabilia collection.

August this year has also seen our sub-Branch move again. This time we have come home. Through the generosity and support from CHRG Board of Directors and the Executive Staff, this has enabled us to move into a permanent location within Club Parramatta. As we unpack and re-display our collection, our new office continues to operate. A huge thank-you to all concerned with the Office construction and the move. Special mention must go to Scott and Jim for the hands on aspect of the move, along with their team of helpers.

On behalf of our members, I would like to gratefully acknowledge and thank CHRG Board President, John Payne, the CHRG Board of Directors, Group CEO David O’Neil, Group COO Andy Abey and all the Club Parramatta Managers and staff who provide our sub-Branch outstanding support in the conduct of our activities. I would also like to thank the sub-Branch Committee that provides valuable contributions and support to our sub-Branch.

Our sub-Branch remains actively involved with visitations to our members that reside in aged care facilities. The visitation team, whilst only small, covers a lot of ground. Many thanks to Vice

< Our Exercise Classes for Seniors lead by Joseph and his Staff from Burwood Physio has been very beneficial.

President David Williams and Roderick Hilliker, who dedicate a substantial amount of time visiting these members. If members are in hospital and would like to have a visit from our welfare team, please contact the sub-Branch office.

Our sub-Branch monthly general meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month (excluding December) commencing at 6:30pm. All are welcome and it would be great to see you there. To contact the sub-Branch please note that there is a new email address: enquiries@ prslsubbranch.com.au the old email address will be phased out in due course.

Stay safe as we approach the Festive season and look out for your mates and families. All the very best from our sub-Branch Members to all that this message reaches.

SPORT IS OUR heartbeat

THE YEAR WAS MARKED BY MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENTS, RENEWED INVESTMENT AND AN UNWAVERING BELIEF IN SPORT'S ABILITY TO UNITE PEOPLE.

SPORT: A PILLAR OF CHRG'S community vision

Sport has always held a special place within the fabric of CHRG. It is where competition meets camaraderie, and where health and wellness intersect with community pride. Between July 2024 and June 2025, CHRG strengthened its position as a leader in community sport, uniting its diverse sporting activities under a shared vision that ensures sport remains central to the lives of its members.

The year was marked by milestone achievements, renewed investment, and an unwavering belief in sport’s ability to unite people. From the greens of Lynwood Golf & Country Club to the pool and gym floors of Castle Hill Fitness & Aquatic Centre, and on to the rinks of Castle Hill Bowling Club, CHRG’s venues have been thriving with participation, success and growth.

Our Learn to Swim programs are based on 10 stages of aquatic education, swimming and water safety skills. >

CASTLE HILL BOWLING CLUB

Success and Renewal

The period brought new energy to Castle Hill Bowling Club, with both infrastructure investment and on-green success shaping a remarkable year.

The club celebrated a Pennants victory, its first open-gender success in more than 11 years. This triumph resonated far beyond the greens, representing the rewards of sustained effort by players and the growing inclusivity within the sport. It was a milestone moment for members and a point of pride for the CHRG community.

Off the green, CHRG committed to a transformational project with the construction of an all-weather canopy over the main bowling green, complemented by a new woven carpet playing surface. This investment will allow play to continue year-round, unaffected by weather and create opportunities for the club to host additional competitions and social events. The development will include upgraded lighting, opening the way for bowls under lights and making the venue a more dynamic hub of activity for members.

Together, these advances ensured that Castle Hill Bowling Club was not only celebrating victories on the rink but was also preparing for a sustainable and exciting future.

LYNWOOD GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Membership Growth & Investment

Lynwood Golf & Country Club continued to strengthen its reputation as one of Western Sydney’s premier golfing destinations. Membership growth remained a standout achievement, with increased participation across Women’s and Junior categories. This growth reflected the Group’s deliberate focus on inclusivity, nurturing the next generation of golfers while supporting pathways for women to play and compete.

CHRG further demonstrated its commitment to Lynwood’s future with the purchase of a new fleet of course machinery. This investment ensured that course conditions remained of the highest quality, with the greens and fairways maintained at a level that members and visitors could be proud of.

The combination of strong membership growth and ongoing investment, positioned Lynwood as a thriving sporting venue, resilient in the face of challenges and dedicated to providing first-class experiences on and off the course.

CASTLE HILL FITNESS & AQUATIC CENTRE

Health & Innovation

The Castle Hill Fitness & Aquatic Centre remained at the heart of community health and wellbeing. The reporting year saw significant improvements to facilities that ensured members of all ages continued to enjoy safe, high-quality sporting experiences.

The 25-metre swimming pool underwent a comprehensive regrout of all tiled surfaces, a project that reinforced CHRG’s commitment to long-term asset quality and safety. The upgrade ensured the pool could continue to meet the needs of all swimmers to competitive athletes.

The year also saw a successful season for Castle Hill Gymnastics, with athletes competing across state championships and achieving outstanding results that reflected their dedication, skill, and team spirit. A standout moment came when Flynn Wilson was crowned the U14 All-Around National Champion at the 2025 Australian Gymnastics Championships - a proud achievement for both Flynn and the team.

Castle Hill Fitness is set to expand its fitness programs with the introduction of a Reformer Pilates studio in 2026, reflecting ongoing investment in member wellbeing and engagement.

By diversifying its fitness portfolio and maintaining its facilities to the highest standards, the Castle Hill Fitness & Aquatic Centre reinforced its role as an essential community hub.

SPORTS SHOWCASE EVENTS

Building Capacity Behind the Scenes

CHRG’s investment in sport extended beyond facilities and competitions. During the year, the Group hosted a series of Sports Showcase events, which brought together the organising committees of its many sub-clubs.

These events were designed to provide practical resources, knowledge-sharing, and personalised content to support committees in strengthening their operations. From governance and marketing to member engagement and program design, the showcases aimed to equip volunteer leaders with the tools to sustain and grow their clubs.

This initiative reflected CHRG’s belief that sport thrives not only on the field or in the pool, but also in the strength of the organisations that support it. By investing in the capability of sub-clubs, CHRG helped secure the future of grassroots sport within its community.

CHRG’s support for sport extends well beyond the playing field. During the year, the Group proudly supported 20 sub-clubs, contributing more than $216,821 in cash and $78,609 in-kind donations to help them thrive.

CLICK COLLAB: LEADING THE HILLS TOWARDS zero DFV

CASTLE HILL RSL GROUP STEPPED FORWARD WITH A PIONEERING APPROACH - CLICK COLLAB, A MOVEMENT DESIGNED TO UNITE THE COMMUNITY UNDER ONE VISION: ACHIEVING ZERO DFV IN THE HILLS.

A

movement, not just a program

Click Collab is more than a prevention program - it is a whole-of-community movement. Backed by CHRG’s leadership and $130,000 in funding to date, it empowers people to act together, each in ways that fit their skills and capacity. Whether someone has half an hour or several hours to spare, every contribution counts.

A framework for lasting change

The initiative is anchored by the Zero DFV Strategy, developed by Co-founder and prevention advocate, Kirrily Dear. It embeds prevention into everyday community life through four pillars:

Caring Communities – stronger networks where people look out for one another.

Normalising Respectful Relationships – building cultures of respect at home, at work, and in schools.

Healthy Self-Esteem – empowering confidence and resilience.

Early Support Familiarisation – guiding people to seek help before a crisis escalates.

Through Goal Squads, Strategy Huddles, and the online Click Hub, these principles are translated into tangible community action, with every step tracked and celebrated.

CHRG : from funder to leader

CHRG has long supported DFV prevention through sponsorships, but the Board recognised a deeper responsibility. Piecemeal funding was not enough. What was needed was systemic change, and CHRG was determined to lead it.

By funding and hosting Click Collab, CHRG ensured the initiative would remain free and accessible, breaking down financial barriers and opening

“WE SUPPORT LOCAL DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE (DFV) PREVENTION EFFORTS TO WORK TOGETHER ON A SHARED PLAN FOR PROGRESS.”

“AT CHRG, WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF COMMUNITY TO DRIVE MEANINGFUL CHANGE. OUR FUNDING OF THE ZERO DFV PILOT PROGRAM REFLECTS OUR UNWAVERING COMMITMENT

TO FOSTERING SAFER, MORE CONNECTED COMMUNITIES.”

JOHN PAYNE, CHRG GROUP PRESIDENT

the door to genuine participation from schools, businesses, service providers, and residents alike.

This leadership demonstrates what’s possible when a club steps beyond its traditional role as a gathering place to become a driver of social change.

Community Impact

The results are already visible:

Increased engagement – residents and businesses now see they have a role to play.

Stronger collaboration – service providers, police, and local leaders are aligning their efforts like never before.

Mindset shift – DFV prevention is increasingly viewed as a shared responsibility, not just a government duty.

Key initiatives include the appointment of a Zero DFV Community Facilitator, annual Strategy Huddles setting a shared vision, and Goal Squads that translate objectives into community action.

A Blueprint For National Change

The Hills is the pilot community, but the ambition extends across Australia. Click Collab aims to

engage thousands of community members, strengthen collaboration between DFV services and local groups, and establish The Hills as a national model for community-led prevention.

This vision aligns with CHRG’s broader community commitment. In the past year alone, CHRG contributed $3.18 million to local programs, demonstrating that its mission extends far beyond hospitality and leisure, focusing on creating safer, stronger, and more connected communities.

Together Towards Zero

What makes Click Collab remarkable is not just its framework but the way it redefines the role of clubs. It proves that clubs can be catalysts for systemic social change.

Domestic and family violence will not be solved by isolated programs. It will be solved when communities unite. Through Click Collab, CHRG and its partners are proving that such a future is possible.

The journey to ZERO DFV is ambitious - but ambition is what this issue demands. Together, The Hills community is showing that when leadership meets collaboration, lasting change begins.

This vision aligns with CHRG’s broader community commitment. In the past year alone, CHRG contributed $3.18 million to local programs, demonstrating that its mission extends far beyond hospitality and leisure, focusing on creating safer, stronger, and more connected communities.
