Black Lives Matter Prayer Otis Hunter, Jr.
Lord, Don’t let our collective black existence disappear, Our smiles, Our laughter, Our happily ever after.

Don’t make us memories stolen by injustice; Don’t make us headlines, Or hashtags, Or reasons to march in the streets, Or lessons to make us feel like equality is a fairy tale.
Don’t let us fade away because of a narrative, Or a statistic. How can all lives matter but our lives scatter?
Don’t normalize our pain, Our screams for help that reach deaf ears, Our tears that fall with no one to wipe them, Our blood that spills like we're giving full body donations.
Lord, Make our lives a sacrifice, Not our deaths... Amen.
