chooselife ministries started primarily as a teaching center in a small storefront building. Pastors Dean and Kathy Shropshire had a desire for people to understand the true character of God and how to take personal responsibility for their own lives. So at the direction of the Holy Spirit, they founded chooselife ministries.

Now, 35 years later, the vision remains the same.

chooselife ministries is reaching families and communities across the world with the truth of God’s Word.

New Month, New You

Each month brings a new opportunity for us to take our relationship with God to another level. That is what this first Sunday of the month is all about; growing! Our new monthly daily devotion, Message of the Month, and Book of the Month are presented so together we can do more, learn more, and grow together!

Birthday Sunday

We love birthdays! The second Sunday of every month we celebrate all the birthdays that will be taking place during that month! In the reception room we have a special reception just for you, a birthday prayer in the sanctuary, and a special birthday coupon from The Cafe! We definitely want you to feel loved your birthday month!

Grateful Sunday

Grateful Sunday is the third Sunday of every month. We use this Sunday as an opportunity for us to take our grateful up another notch. As a church, we honor one ATEAM member who we are grateful for, have a Body Building drawing for $200, and spend 2-minutes sharing with others around us what we are grateful for!

Sweet Sunday

Sweet Sunday is the last Sunday of every month. We call it Sweet Sunday because this Sunday is definitely sweet; we have a Candy Bar at the Wagon full of candy. We encourage everyone to invite someone new to attend church; whether it’s family, friends, or someone they just met! This Sunday is intentionally designed to celebrate just how sweet it is to be loved by God!

Believer’s Night

Come and join us for this special once-a-month service that is jam-packed with praise and worship, the Word, and revelation for all. Come ready to receive! The main service is for adults and youth (6-12th grade) and we have a Believer’s Night KIDZ Edition for all K-5th graders, childcare is provided for newborn-pre-k. Out of town? Communion Wednesday

On the first Wednesday we start the month off right by having a Communion service. At the beginning of service, we take time to reflect on what was provided for us through Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross. KIDZ church, YOUTH, and adults will have the opportunity to take communion in their services. This is the perfect opportunity to meditate on the supernatural access to heaven that we have as a child of God!

Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are retelling the story, proclaiming our Lord’s death until he comes.

Why? Holy Spirit Class

On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month we have our Why? Holy Spirit class. The Holy Spirit is a gift to all believers and vital for living an overcoming life! In this one-service class, you will discover: who He is, His characteristics, and the gift He is to the church!! At the end of class, you will have an opportunity to pray and receive the amazing gift of the Holy Spirit with guidance from one of our Holy Spirit class volunteers!

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Water Baptism

Water baptism is an outward sign of an inward decision you made to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you haven’t been water baptized, this is your next step as a believer! Water Baptism services happen on the 3rd Wednesday of every month! Don’t allow anything to stop you from taking this next step!

As they rode along, they came to a small body of water, and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! Why can’t I be baptized?”

“You can,” Philip answered, “if you believe with all your heart.” And the eunuch replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” He stopped the chariot, and they went down into the water and Philip baptized him.”

JumpStart

Sunday Mornings at 7:30am

This 30-minute “pre-service” service is perfect for everyone, literally. We are all leaders, even if we are just leading ourselves. In JumpStart, Pastor Charity teaches us how to lead and follow with practical and in your face biblical principles. You will leave each JumpStart encouraged, empowered, and ready to grow and develop into the man or woman you are called to be.

Late Night

Wednesdays at 9:30pm

Late Night is for 18-30 year olds. This season brings lots of pressure: college, work, relationships, the future…where do you even begin? Late Night with Pastor Greg is all about empowering this generation to be everything God has called them to be by faith; while also developing friendships with people in the same season as them.

Growth Track is a 4-week course that will help you: Believe, Belong, Become, and Build. Growth Track provides a way for you to officially be a part of chooselife and join one of our Body Builder teams. There’s so much joy and fulfillment when you take the next step after making Jesus the Lord of your life to get off the world’s track and get on track with God’s plan for your life which starts with church!!

Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Body Builders

At chooselife ministries, we love our Body Builders! Our Body Builders are our volunteers—they build up our church family or body like the Bible describes it. They are full of passion and zeal for the Kingdom of God! During services, Body Builders serve in children’s classes, the parking lot, in production, and so many other ways. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving! Attend all 4-weeks of Growth Track so you can join one of our amazing teams…you were born for such a time as this; you have a special place here to serve and grow!

The ATEAM is our Ministry of Helps leadership team! They are amazing volunteer leaders who oversee all of our ministry teams! God is a God of order, and at chooselife ministries we follow that same order. Our ATEAM leaders go above and beyond to help ensure services flow smoothly and people are shown the love of the Father through every ministry and department!

chooselife YOUTH

Middle School

Our 6-8th graders meet every Sunday during our second service with Pastors Greg and Charity Kalstrup! These services are designed just for them. They have fun, connect with friends, and hear the Word on their level.

YOUTH

Our main YOUTH service for all 6-12th graders takes place every Wednesday night during our Night Life service. This service is designed to help YOUTH know and live the Word, in their season. We have praise and worship, small groups, and an amazing message from Pastor Charity.

YOUTH Family Night

YOUTH Family Night takes place one Friday night a month and is so much fun! 6-12th graders come together for dinner, games, small groups, and a message from Pastor Charity. It is vital for young people to know being a Christian is fun and develop friendships and connections with other young people in their season; that is what YOUTH Family Night is all about.

chooselife KIDZ

KIDZ City is the most amazing, anointed children’s program you will ever find! How do we know? Because our KIDZ team is full of passionate people whose mission is to train and demonstrate to kids how to choose and live the abundant life that Jesus paid for them to have. It’s KIDZ ministry on steroids! Each service, KIDZ of every age, hear the Word, experience the power of God, and have so much fun. We guarantee once they come they’ll never want to leave!

Club 45

Club 45 is for all 4-5th graders! Throughout the year they get special perks and privileges in KIDZ City! Also, during the month of May they come to the church every Thursday afternoon for food, prizes, games, and a special message just for them! It’s never too early to learn how fun and fulfilling it is to live life with God!

Life Bible Institute is a two-year accredited Bible College, Monday-Friday, for everyone who wants to deepen their relationship with God, learn more about the Bible, or feels called to full-time ministry. LBI is passionate about people learning, growing, and developing a fire and anointing to do everything God called them to do, regardless of age or season in life. With a dynamic pastoral staff, you can receive personalized training for any aspect of ministry you are called.

Life Bible Institute LBI Intern

Are you ready to be a student at Life Bible Institute and are between the ages of 18-26? We have something just for you! As a young adult you get entered into an LBI “sorority/fraternity” and get hands on accountability and training so you can mature and become everything God has called you to be! A calling without character is detrimental! Being an LBI Intern will help you develop the character and lifestyle to live out everything God has called you to!

DEEP Bible Training Center

August-May/Mondays, 7-9pm

DEEP Bible Training Center is for everyone, no matter their age, that wants to dig DEEPER in their knowledge of God and His Word. If you want to take your relationship with God and His Word to another level, this is a perfect opportunity. If you’ve been in church your whole life or a whole 5 minutes, DEEP Bible Training Center is exactly what you need. We incorporate both spiritual and practical concepts, so you will learn to enjoy life personally, as well as in the church and in your community!

It is important to be a giver not only of your time and talents but also of your money. Giving opens you up so you can receive from God. Outreaches

During Outreaches we go into our community and show the love of God. There are many people in our area that have not walked through our front doors; this is an opportunity to go to them, minister, and get them plugged into church! In 2022 we had: Early Out (high school outreach), 5th Quarter (middle school & high school outreach), USW Outreach, Thanksgiving Outreach (community), Innkeeper’s Daughter Outreach (community), and Church at the Club (Boys & Girls Club).

Every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6-8:30pm we go into our city and reach the lost! We meet at the church, pray, break into groups, and head out. We have groups go to Walmart, Lowes, The Beehive Assisted Living Home, and anywhere the Spirit of God directs them! You don’t have to be an expert at sharing Jesus to come; grouping up with other believers gives you the opportunity to hear, learn, and gain confidence!

chooselife EDU was birthed from the desire to help parents as they raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Public schools are not what they have presented themselves to be. chooselife EDU provides partners with a private, spiritual homeschool co-op. Students learn at their own pace, in an atmosphere of peace: growing spiritually and naturally.

KIDZ City Daycare

In KIDZ City Daycare, the atmosphere will be set for children to learn and be loved on, all at the same time! With age appropriate activities, centers for children to explore and remain engaged, and time as a group learning truths from the Bible, each child will leave KIDZ City Daycare each day empowered and of course with their “loved on” tank full. Our staff will not only pray to start each day, but will speak the Word over each child throughout the day so that the atmosphere is one of peace and joy!

Children are a gift from God. We as adults have been given the opportunity to steward or care for them just as that, gifts. We believe that loving them the way Jesus loved us is the best way to see them grow into young men and women of God they are called to be.

At KIDZ City Daycare, each child will learn their value by participating in activities and spiritual training. We believe that each child is created for “such a time as this” and it is our mission to cultivate that purpose and life that has been deposited in them! Training will be age appropriate, fun, engaging, and physically and emotionally safe.
