01 IND UST RI A L RET RO The industrial interior comes from the manufacturing age and focuses on function. The look is raw, unfinished, achieved with rough surfaces and materials that suggest an industrial past. Wood and metal are used heavily, as are exposed pipes and ducts, cement screed, and vintage furniture.

02 YO NG HUI SU PERSTO RES Inviting and vibrant – that’s how the redesigned market ‘BRAVO YongHui Superstore’, featuring local, sustainable food reflects the triumph of place-making and architectural creativity, transforming the basement floor of a new development mall - IMIX PARK, into a vibrant destination that anchors a growing market district.

«Local» – Just as in the previous version of the concept, a regional focus plays an important role. BRAVO sets value on the involvement of local producers and farmers from the surrounding areas and this can be clearly noticed in this market.

«Be Simple» – The design of the instore communication is kept simple so that the focus is on the quality of the fresh products. Forms and lines were intentionally kept plain in order to let the products speak for themselves and the discreet graphic language makes the design perfect.

«Interactive» – The market aims to guide the local neighbourhood ‘a new lifestyle’ through the sensory experiences market hall experience that features free tasting event and digital solution.

S HO P WIT HI N SHO P DESI G N A contemporary, clean and crisp, each vendor stalls feature a distinctive design creating the overall ambiance is that of a bustling market street at twilight.

Different wood tones, decorative tiles in bricks, a grey floor and visual highlights in cooper create an authentic market atmosphere in the heart of Shanghai.

For this a completely new, innovative store concept and layout was created, where freshness is spatially and conceptually the focus. Through the positioning of the fresh areas at the entrance and in the middle of the market, a visual connection to the mall could be created and thus the visibility and accessibility could be increased. Besides the fresh areas, also the shopping experience for the customers in the non-food area was improved and redesigned. the facilitation of customer orientation is a central task of the in-store communication, using large graphics.

L AYOUT CO NF IGUR AT I O N PRODUCE: The store layout is adapted from a marketplace which creates a “central island of freshness�. So the focus on freshness is now also expressed by the new positioning of these departments.

DAIRY: The traffic builder - Dairy products are the essential for most consumers hence acts as an anchoring position to attract consumers inwards into the store through the designed path.

GROCERIES: The power aisle - Usually in the central area that acts as the transition between food and non-food areas, also gives an impression of good deals which provide sales.

HOUSEHOLD: The golden zone - Designing near the checkout area forcing consumers to walk right into the products to boost consumer interests on different products apart from fresh produces.

VIS UA L MERCHA NDI SI NG & CO M M UN I CAT I O N CO NCEPT In this further developed concept of fresh market, wooden roof truss elements are used to enhance the user experience. The presented merchandise would remind a typical market stalls. Natural materials such as metal, wood, bricks and decorative tiles create warm and inviting atmosphere.

The well-directed use of visual merchandising items emphasizes the single departments as well as the modernity of the whole market. A variety of baskets and displays in the produce department creates a real market atmosphere. Products are arranged in groups according to themes, which makes shopping easier for the customers and leads to additional sales. For example, in the fresh department fish is offered together with matching products. This product placement together with recipe suggestions is meant to inspire the customers and to trigger impulse buying.

A completely new graphic concept was elaborated to make it easy for customers to find their way, which is crucial in a market of this size. Large writings showing the names of the single departments in simple and clear fonts, placed above the fresh counters as well as the main nonfood departments, make them already visible from afar. Icons placed directly above the writings further enhance the effect and so do the different colors used for each department. Product images on the walls and above the self-service fridges increase the impression of freshness.

03 S PAC E SU PERMA RKET A new grocery experience - Since Rainbow mall extension renovation, Rainbow supermarket seeks for a rebranding of the market. As it is located at CBD area, the market departments creates a highlight of the new ÂŤ Food Journey - Buono Buono Âť into the grocery experience. A mixture of retail and gastronomy, where customers can buy food and take out or eat in.

The basic idea of the implemented store concept was to get away from the traditional, with western styled hypermarket design and create a new, innovative store layout. Freshness plays a major role in this concept. In this further developed concept, the produce department was designed as a fresh market. Small wooden roofs above the presented merchandise remind you of typical market stalls. Natural materials such as metal, wood, bricks and decorative tiles create warm and inviting atmosphere.

F R E S H FO O D MA RKET A market place with an innovative spirit which perfectly harmonizes the gastronomy / convenience section and the rest of the sales area.

From the gastronomy section with open cooking and cosy seating areas shoppers walk past the convenience counters into the market.

A juice bar, an udon / sushi bar, a bakery, pizza & pasta gourmet and a steak shop complete the large selection of freshly prepared products.

The ready-to-go eateries are placed all over along the sales area and invite to stay for a little while. A well stocked wine department and a great variety of non-food articles leave nothing to be desired.

Gastronomy section and sales area were skillfully linked by a ÂŤLoop of FreshnessÂť which is directly adjacent to the sales area and leads the shoppers into the market.

T R IO INSTA LL AT I O N BY SET I A Project brief : With the theme of industrial retro interior design, the installation structure mimics the newly launched architectural building design. Using the concept brief given by the client, the design intends to showcase the interior atmosphere for buyers and get the sense of feeling home.

To give a hint of the property design, a few elements are highligted out such as the golden vertical strips for the main structure, the dining room vibes of yellow and orange with the young hipster decor in master bedroom. The alfresco cafe is also featured as a common interaction for different workshops during event.

Paving the way for a perfectly new experience in lavish living The showcased interior spaces are master bedroom, kitchen with dining area, living hall plus an alfresco cafe at the rear of the structure. The installation is presented in three different box structures which each took the hint of the interior home design. The design is embodied by the chosen furnitures, lighting and wallpapers. This installation is presented in box and frame structures with a scale of one-to-one real domestic interior setting.

05 T HE HE A LI NG SA NCTUA RY This project is a new resort development at Gohtong Jaya where its intention is to bring back the sense of agriculture and the green environment ambience to city publics. A getaway vacation from the hustle and bustle city life to a serene and calm forest themed resort.

The whole development concept is nestled within the delightful path along the beauty of the canopy structure. It is a relationship between architecture and nature as it should accept them as a unity that allows architecture to be conceived as a material, spatial and environment that is related to the process of life.

AN EXCLUSIVE ENCLAVE OF BEAUTIFULLY APPOINTED CLUBHOUSE THAT ARE SEAMLESSLY LINKED OVER LUXURIANT GREEN GROUNDS The forest canopy is a modern insertion to the natural setting of gohtong jaya forest. The big scale structures are organized in precise laws of geometry pattern that resembles the rainforest trees canopy and allows us to define perception as a situation where visitors can feel the extension of a forest, a shadow garden. The canopy structures is part of the common clubhouse and its an open concept lobby reception area with panaromic view of the surreal surrounding. Its unique feature with the use of recycled materials from site such as excessive timber and treated bamboo.

PHA S E TWO : G REEN B A MB O O CHA LET The bamboo chalet is the phase two of the development exploring with treated bamboo cladding creating a concept of ‘bringing the outdoor into indoor’. The chalet will be located deep into the wild forest with linking bridges from the common clubhouse. This modern luxurious meet ecoliving by embodying sustainable values.

Several patterns of bamboo arrangement are explored and studied for the proposal. The casting shadow shines into the interior creating lights and patterns giving an ‘close to nature’ experience to visitors. The different layers of cladding create shadow effects similar to the tree canopies shading of the forest.

The facade consists with a combination of three different material playing in various scaled patterns. The sunshine irradiate throws different windows in different direction. The chalet shines by introducing fully furnished with timbers and bamboo materials to suit the green living concept
