“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. ”
Joshua 1:9
Courageous Christians with childlike faith – the faith that
moves mountains. There are just many days we don’t feel very courageous or strong or mighty, especially when those fiery darts keep coming at us! Right? Those giants – those troubles seem to, at times, continue with no end in sight; but we must remember that the Lord told us “In this world we WILL have trouble... ” And those
troubles show up in many forms and most of the time
unexpectantly. The good news lies in the last part of that verse
from John 16:33, which says “Take heart (or be courageous) because I (the Lord) have overcome the world!”
Our faith – our courage comes by trusting in The One who is our “very present Help in time of trouble” Ps. 46:1. Our God is the
same God who closed the mouths of the lions as Daniel slept
peacefully. He’s the same God that walked with those three
Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace as the praised their One and Only
Deliverer. He’s the same God who loosed Peter from the prison chains and set him back on his mission journey.
This is our God who has told us that this life will not be easy –we can expect trials, troubles, heartaches – But God! Yes! But God has made a way! Our way is through the One who went freely to the cross. And He did that so we can have that “peace that passes all understanding” Phil. 4:7. That Same Loving God has promised over and over that He will never leave us or abandon us.
The God who defeated death and the grave is the same holy, precious Lord who has given us His courageous, powerful Spirit to dwell in us. So – remember this – There is nothing too big for God!
The battle is not ours alone AND God see us as “more than conquerors”!
Continue to touch heaven with your powerful, courageous prayers! ~Georgia
