What am i like?// A personal representation of myself, considering ‘What am I like?’. Including eight categories, that vary from music, to possession and place, based from inspiration taken from a seminar activity looking at the touring exhibition from House of Illustration.// Merging images together, with positioning inspired by ‘Lord Ganesh’, who’s holds desirable traits within Hinduism.//

‘What am i Like?’ piece of imagery reflectiing on the self.

Self Promotion//

Taking a personal approach to design and displaying my CV and self promotion in a well structured and visually appealing format.//

Self Promotion design development//

Design development consisted of using a combination of patters, layering and experimenting with glitter and embossing to create texture within my personal design recipe. Graphic designer Space__ used a combination of patterns within their work, I took elements of their patterns as inspiration. I have always liked the tactile aesthetics when using mixed media, so I knew I wanted to express this within my work. Experimenting with various techniques and materials led to the development of my Business card and header that will be displayed on online portfolio as well as other online platforms.//

Online Portfolio Research//

I must also consider the frames used within the online portfolio, work displayed in square thumbnails or circle thumbnails will read differently depending on content and layout, something to consider.

Visual cv:

Applying my personal branding to my CV makes for a professional submission approaching brands and when applying for work experience or placements. Using aesthetics that work alongside my business cards, but considering the practically of the CV, making sure it is easy to read, is important, as well as communicating my enthusiasm within my design recipe and writing. //

Applying Branding: Using images from Pixeden, I’ve applied my personal branding designs onto the images to get an accurate idea of how my branding will work. Alongside these I have my actual business cards, which I feel have a really professional approach, designed as mini-cards hopefully making them more memorable for future employers.//

I have catered my covering letter in response to an application I discovered on Fashion Workie for Wonderland Magazine; as peers have gained insightful experience whilst helping with the magazine. I’m also working on further other covering letters since meeting contatcs at Berlin fashion week.

Summer Work// Section 2:// Summer Work This is my trend booklet considering categorisation, looking at AW 15/16 Womenswear, collating trends then subcategorising further, naming and evaluating selected trends. Using visuals, quotes, and relevant text to correspond throughout the trend booklet.// J D’Cruz work experience featuring imagery from SS16 collection launch and Lookbook I shot and created for the brand ready for the collection launch in September.// Street wear brand DSYFA sponsored NASS festival in Bristol; I helped with marketing and promotions over the festival weekend, an insightful experience into the way in which brands distribute in other areas through various events and marketing.// A link to my blog post reflecting on first year as an FCP student, considering the Stop, Start and Continue process, overlooking aspects from the year.//

Summer Trend Booklet//

This is a Trend booklet I created during the summer break, based on AW15/16 trends that I recognised and recorded over three months of summer,, considering categorisation within Womenswear. ‘Colour Shock’ was my first spotted trends in which I subcategorised ‘Plastic Fantastic’ and ‘Seeking a Rainbow’ with latex and patent materials on the catwalk combined with bold sections of colour I felt this was a suitable category for spotted trends.

The second Trend I selected within AW 15/16 was ‘Garden Party’ with dark moody floral’s and jacquard embroidery galore I subcategorised this trend into ‘A Foiled Floral Fortune’ and ‘Midnight Garden’. Recognising the origin of these trends, highlighting where I’ve seen these trends on the Catwalk and then filtering down into primary, Street Style images. Presenting trends in this Lookbook with a cohesive design within the separate trends.//

j d’Cruz// J D’Cruz ia a hand printed textile handbag brand, where every printed leather handbag is entirely unique. I have developed my personal skills working with J D’Cruz over the last year, in terms of design, organisation and hands on experience, and helping with two fashion shows based in Oxford, to raise money for a local charity. // I planned, shot and edited together the promotional imagery for our new SS16 collection ready for the Launch of the collection in September. Creating the Lookbook was really exciting having the responsibly within a recognised brand that are sold within Wolf & Badger in Notting hill. With plans to get the images printed on this seasons business cards, I feel the appreciative for opportunity within the brand. //

j d’Cruz ss16 lookbook// A selection of images from the Lookbook for the J D’Cruz SS16 collection. My approach for the styling was very neutral, classy and summery, considering the wide age range of consumers who buy into the brand and what would be most appealing within a Lookbook for them. Shot in Woodstock close to the brands studio in Oxfordshire, the selection of images here display the cover and various spreads from within the Lookbook, within a sleek and clean feel adhering to the brands tone of voice and previous promotional imagery.//

Making a concertina zine, working with layers on InDesign to then print the final execution in two colours.//

Lord Whitney// Lord Whitney started as a set design duo from Leeds; they have worked on various inspiring projects, from music videos for Nicki Minaji, as well as working with brands such as Kenzo on their recent campaign. Taking part in their two day workshop was really exciting and insightful. Understanding that you can create something visually appealing that could work within a fashion image whilst keeping the costs minimal. Given a selecting of words; Photos, Space and Alarm Clock, we had to generate ideas surrounding these words in small groups and create a set design based on these words and shoot photos which would work as our final execution.//

Photos// Space// Alarm Clock//

Within a two day workshop we utilised our abilty within groups to work on set design, documenting our process on creating a narration with a low budget.//

“ “ It was all a Dream.

Considering the way in which we used the tooth fairy in order to connect with childhood memories and the excitement that surrounded the tooth fairy, creating shots using desirable items in order to promote an item.//

Life Drawing// During a seminar we practised Life drawing, considering structure of the body and visioning the body as a form. Having time brackets that varied from 30 seconds up to 15 minutes was really insightful, varying the use of line and positing to create different interpretations of the body.//

Risograph with Dizzy Ink//

Learning the techniques behind Risograph printing was really inpiring and interesting, i believe the skills we learn coincide with what i understand within Photoshop, working on desired layers in order to execute a final working document, considering the manipulation on each layer.//

Risograph Collage:// Using collage to create an image made in parts of two separate layers was really interesting, comparing the way in which we translate the process of layers within programs such as Photoshop. The process in which took, workshop we’d worked on, and techniques we have used throughout the module in order to get to this point. Creating textures and a tactile document that feels very much handmade based on the main focus within of a zine.
