L

a Feria de Importación y Exportación de China, también conocida como la Feria de Cantón, tuvo su primera edición en 1957, y desde entonces se celebra en Guangzhou dos veces por año, en la primavera y el otoño. Esta es co-organizada por el Ministerio de Comercio de China y el Gobierno Popular de la provincia de Guangdong; y organizada por el Centro de Comercio Exterior de China.

El pasado 18 de agosto, la Cámara de Comercio y Tecnología México China, con el patrocinio del Consejo del Centro para el Comercio Internacional de China, tuvo el privilegio de llevar a cabo el “Evento de Promoción de la 122° Edición de la Feria de Cantón” en la Ciudad de México.

he China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, had its first edition in 1957, and since then, it has been held in Guangzhou twice a year, in the spring and autumn. This event is co-organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province; and organized by the Foreign Trade Center of China.

On August 18, the Chamber of Commerce and Technology Mexico China, with the sponsorship of the Center for International Trade of China, had the privilege to hold the “Promotion Event of the 122nd Edition of the Canton Fair” Mexico City.

Por su parte, la Dra. Cristina Hernández, Directora General para Asia, Oceanía y Organismos Multilaterales de la Secretaría de Economía, destacó que la relación mantenida por las dos naciones se traduce en un marco institucional que se amplía y reforza cada vez más. En este sentido, los gobiernos han promovido un intercambio de información, manteniendo, México, su postura firme de impulsar el libre comercio y flujo de inversiones. Sumado a los grupos de alto nivel tanto el empresarial (GANE) como de inversión (GANI), se han creado protocolos para la exportación de productos agropecuarios de México a China. Además, mencionó la firma de un MOU entre la Secretaría de Economía y la empresa Alibaba con el propósito de impulsar a las empresas mexicanas para promover sus productos a través del comercio electrónico.

On the other hand, Mrs. Cristina Hernández, General Director for Asia, Oceania and Multilateral Organizations of the Secretariat of Economy, stressed that the relationship maintained by the two nations has been translated into an institutional framework that is increasingly extended and reinforced. In this regard, governments have promoted an exchange of information, maintaining, Mexico its firm position to promote free trade and investment flows. In addition to the high-level groups, both business (GANE) and investment (GANI), protocols have been created for the export of agricultural products from Mexico to China. She also mentioned the signing of a MOU between the Secretariat of Economy and Alibaba with the purpose to encourage Mexican companies to promote their products through electronic commerce.

l Sr. Zou Chuanming, Consejero Económico - Comercial de la Embajada de China en México, expuso en cifras que el intercambio ha alcanzado cerca de 75,000 millones de dólares, de igual forma las exportaciones mexicanas han crecido a un ritmo de 22.9%. Por otro lado, así como las empresas BAIC, Huawei o el ICBC tienen una destacada inserción en México, productos como las berries y el aguacate son productos mexicanos estrella en China. Expuso que la Feria de Cantón ha sido importante plataforma de promoción, ya que han asistido 107 expositores mexicanos de sectores como manufactura, maquinaria, tecnología, seguridad, prendas de vestir, alimentos, entre otros.

Zou Chuanming, Economic and Trade Councelor of the Chinese Embassy in Mexico, said in figures that trade between Mexico and China has reached about 75,000 million dollars, just as Mexican exports have increase at a rate of 22.9%. On the other hand, just like tBAIC, Huawei or ICBC have an outstanding insertion in Mexico, products such as berries and avocado are Mexican star products in China. He explained that the Canton Fair has been an important promotional platform, since 107 Mexican exhibitors from sectors such as manufacturing, machinery, technology, security, clothing, food, among others, have participated.

l Ing. Jorge López Morton, Vicepresidente Internacional del Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología, invitó a los empresarios mexicanos a pensar en China como una nueva oportunidad para expandir su mercado -sobre todo ante los obstáculos impuestos por parte de Estados Unidos- aprovechando también las oportunidades que ofrece la nueva ruta de la seda. Recomendó también, no sólo enviar productos al extranjero sino hacerlos bajo el cobijo de una marca. Aseveró que la creación de marcas mexicanas que tengan presencia en el extranjero será primordial para poder acercar más el mundo a los bienes y servicios que México tiene para ofrecer.

Juan Rocha, Gerente de promoción en el exterior de BANCOMEXT expuso el apoyo que esta entidad ofrece en cuestión de financiamiento a las empresas para llevar a cabo los proyectos a mediano y largo plazo.

Destacó la importancia de los bancos de exportación e importación por su papel determinante en las economías. A través de los diferentes mecanismos que ofrece para financiar el comercio y la inversión, intentan facilitar las relaciones comerciales y el impulso que necesitan las empresas para romper las barreras que las limitan a su mercado nacional. Dividiendo su trabajo por enfoques y la creación de proyectos de gran calado como la Red Compartida en infraestructura de telecomunicaciones, la facilitación del intercambio de bienes y en materia de Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED).

El representante de la Red Global de Mexicanos en el Exterior del capítulo Beijing, Pablo Aguirre, presentó una serie de sugerencias para acercarse a los empresarios chinos, como protocolo y etiqueta de negocios.

Recalcó la atención que debe ponerse en la puntualidad, la entrega de regalos, las tarjetas de presentación, para asegurar el éxito en la visita a la Feria de Cantón.

orge López Morton, International Vice President of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, invited Mexican businessmen to think of China as a new opportunity to expand their market - especially given the obstacles imposed by the United States - also taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the new silk route. He also recommended not only sending products abroad but making them under the shelter of a brand. He asserted that the creation of Mexican brands that have a presence abroad will be paramount in order to bring the world closer to the goods and services that Mexico has to offer.

Juan Rocha, Promotion Manager for Overseas of BANCOMEXT, explained the support that this entity offers in financing companies to carry out the projects in the medium and long term. He stressed the importance of export and import banks for their key role in the economy. Through the different mechanisms it offers to finance trade and investment, they try to facilitate trade relations and the drive that companies need to break the barriers that limit their domestic market. Dividing its work by approaches and the creation of projects of great importance like the Shared Network in telecommunications infrastructure, the facilitation of the exchange of goods and in Foreign Direct Investment (IED. The representative of the Global Network of Mexicans Overseas of Beijing Chapter, Pablo Aguirre, provided several tips to approach Chinese entrepreneurs, such as protocol and business etiquette. He stressed the attention that should be put on punctuality, gifts, business cards, etc. to guarantee success in the visit to the Canton Fair.

Durante 61 años consecutivos se han realizado 121 ediciones sin interrupción, aclamada como el barómetro del comercio exterior de China.

For 61 consecutive years there have been realesed 121 editions without interruption, acclaimed as the barometer of China’s foreign trade.

La feria es de gran escala y se encuentra dividida en tres etapas con un área de exhibición de 1,180,000 metros cuadrados. Los principales sectores abarcan electrónica y electrodomésticos, ferretería, materiales de construcción, maquinaria, automotriz y refacciones, iluminación, nuevas energías, productos químicos, bienes de consumo, regalos, decoraciones caseras, textiles y vestido, calzado, artículos para oficina, equipaje, productos de ocio, medicina y salud, alimentos, así como otras 16 industrias.

The fair is large scale and is divided into three phases with an exhibition area of 1,180,000 square meters. The main sectors include electronics and electrical appliances, hardware, building materials, machinery, automotive and spare parts, lighting, new energy, chemicals, consumer goods, gifts, home decorations, textiles and clothing, footwear, office articles, luggage, leisure, medicine and health, food, as well as 16 other industries.

En cada edición de la feria el número de compradores internacionales se aproxima a las 200 mil personas provenientes de más de 210 países y regiones, alcanzando un total por concepto de transacciones de 30 mil millones de dólares, del total de visitantes 1,986 compradores provienen de México y adquieren principalmente consumibles electrónicos, productos de la información, eléctricos y electrónicos.

At each edition of the fair, the number of international buyers average is 200 thousand people from more than 210 countries and regions, reaching a total of transactions of 30 billion dollars, of the total of visitors 1,986 buyers come from Mexico that mainly purchase electronic consumables, information products, electrical and electronic products.
