Dear students,

I hope you are ready for an exciting summer term in the Care and Childcare department.

We have some fantastic trips planned for this term. We’re organising a fun-filled day at 10 Pin Bowling. It’ll be a great way to unwind and connect with students and staff.

As we dive into the summer term, I urge you to prioritise your assignments. Remember that hard work now will pay off later! Our staff are here to support you every step of the way.

Attendance remains as crucial in the summer term as it does during the regular academic year. Don’t miss out on valuable learning opportunities!

Lastly, I want to emphasise that your hard work does not go unnoticed. As staff, we are so excited to witness your achievements. Let’s make this summer term memorable, productive and filled with accomplishments. Keep pushing forward and remember that success is the result of consistent effort.

PLACEMENT INFORMATION

Please be sure to update your GroFar regularly with your placement hours. You should still keep a written copy of your hours too.

We are kindly asking for parent and carer support in encouraging student attendance to placement. Placement is a valuable and mandatory part of the course and it is imperative students attend to gain the skills required for practice. Thank you for your continued support!

A look back on Spring term!

Zoological Centre at Shuttleworth College

T Level Childcare & Education and Level 2 Health and Social Care recently visited the zoological centre at our Shuttleworth campus. Students were able to feed capybaras and parrots, hold snakes and come face to face with tropical creatures!

Scrap Project -

Milton Keynes Play Association

Level 1's and Level 2 Childcare visited the Milton Keynes Play Association to learn more about the charity and how to reuse materials for craft work. The students had an art session where they created their own pieces out of reusable resources.

Proud To Be Me Day 2024!

Proud To Be Me Day took place on 14th February 2024. We used the day to celebrate individualism and diversity across our department. There were henna stations, cultural food and dress, British Sign Language demonstrations, karaoke, photobooth fun and more!

PEACE LILY PROJECT

All groups across the department have been introduced to the Peace Lily Project by Friends for Life. Groups will be taking care of a peace lily plant to gift to a pen pal from a residential home. They will be updating their pen pal with letters and postcards throughout the term!
