THE SHAPE OF TIME MASTER DEGREE PROJECT Individual work/ 2018 What is the shape of time?

If time can only be represented in spatial term, and the continuous movement is how we perceive the flow of time, what form will appears when we put the shape of movement into the space?

It is also inspired by the Tim time is presented as several captured in several slices. Co clock, the form is generated changing shapes with 3D pr of the interval of time and mo wave. Time is no longer an i visualization of one's sense reality.

Inspiration can not only come from environment, but also from body movement. Time, movement and repetition are used as material for generating the shape through a poetic approach.

It then turns into a set of jewelry which not only celebrating a specific moment, but memorizing the ordinary every day.

THE SHAPE OF TIME is a set of jewelery that visualises one’s gesture in a particular period. This is a project that aims to reverse the impression of how we perceive the repetitive motion in everyday life.

Kneading dough movement was used as an experiment. The differences of the changing hand in repetitive movement are the unseen shapes that seldom discovered throughout the time.

The shapes that illustrated from the gesture are placed clock-wise in 3D program. The interval of time and distance of hands generate the waves in three dimensional object.

Graphic and a variety of material are used for materializing the time.

UNDEFINED TERMS LAMP DESIGN Individual work/ 2018 Undefined Terms is a lamp that includes two unfinished structures which aims to seek for possibilities of different appearances of a product.

When lines are connected, it brings the shape to light.

This project starts with the observation of the outline in everyday life. It is a side work that shares the same starting point with the degree project. I find myself being restricted by others' work when sketching a piece of furniture. As a result, I decided to rethink what is drawing.

Undefined Terms is a pendant light that includes two unfinished structures which aims to play with points and lines in 3 dimensional geometry. By applying with the magnetic circuit, the segments are able to extend and appear with a defined outcome. The unfinished structures encourage users to turn on the lamp by completing the shape. The potential of its appearance gives viewer the scope of imagination when observing from different angles. It is an interactive lamp which is designed to fit into public spaces as well as private homes.

While developing, I found the outline has a connection and similarity with the electronic circuit diagram, which brings this piece to a further concept with the playfulness of technique. It is a adjustable structure that can show different combination through the process of using. When two parts are connected, it trigger the maganetic switch in the middle point, and finally light up the LED on the top.

It was exhibited together with 13 other students with the theme” Playing by the rules” in Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018.

FRAME OF Å GLASS DECOR Individual work/ 2017 image board Frame of Å is a series of plant stand. The simple square shape is inspired by the frame of paintings with the irregular outline to simulate water flow.

The glass is designed only coloured on the inner side of the square. As a result, from the front view, the colour shows randomly by refraction when viewing it in different angle. With the changing illumination, the projection on the table is simulating the water refraction.

This is the project for Kosta Boda, which they are looking for a new design that can represent the image of Sweden. I chose to capture the image of water.

City view with water and nature is the first image in my mind, while people frame the photo to keep it permanently, I transform it to a glass frame which can hold the green. Frame of Å is the concept which aims to bring the summer elements together in a product.

FLORA Domain de Boisbuchet Design Worshop Illuminating the woods /2018 This is an one-week design workshop located at France.

Together with 9 other international designers, we plan to create a fairytale by using lights. Cork is used as main material to create illumination in the wood.

The aim of this workshop is to create sustainable lanterns that will operate on wind and solar power while using Cork as the main material. I create 3 different flower shape light by using different cork- solid, fabric and wine cork. Instead of keeping it flat, I tried to find new ways of using cork by twisting, folding, or slice it to create a new look other than original image of the material.

21° LIFT UP CHAIR BACHELOR DEGREE PROJECT Team work/ 2013 This is a project aims to look for the new appearance for aid chair.

The lift up chairs which are now selling over the world seems to be heavier and more functional. As a result, the goal is to keep the funtionality and bring a new impression for people, expecially the group like elders that has high need for the degenerated body health.

Plywood is used as the main exterior which also includes the built in cylinder in the legs of the wooden chair. With the chair having no special or distinctive appearance, we hope not only preventing people from forming bad impressions about the aid furniture but also hope that elderly people will not feel themselves inferior when using aid chair.

21° LIFT UP CHAIR /PROCESS

Elders usually sit for a long time at home.

When they try to leave the chair or sofa, their degenerated knees do not have enough strength to support their body weight, moreover, their improper use of muscles in daily life and poor health-consciousness aggravated the damage in the inside of their knees and back.

Unlike the existing design that makes the cylinder visible, this chair has hidden cylinder in chair legs and cover with backrest so the it will not be seen when the chair lift up.

SEASONING TURNS BACHELOR DEGREE PROJECT Individual work/ 2013 Seasoning containers are usually designed in stand-alone shape, which the level of sauce will be far away from the rim every time we use. In this project, the goal is to allow people to adjust the position of the rim to keep the rim remain short distance between level liquid. Therefore, round shape container is the solution for this problem.

The name “Seasoning Turns” is from a song “Turn!

Turn! Turn!”. There will be no waiting for slow flowing condiments and the tightly sealed caps keep the flavor in. The see-through glasses make this gadget a tasteful display on dinner tables.

SEASONING TERMS /PROCESS

In the beginning, the main concept for sauce container was to make a shape which can stand upside down, while for dry flavor was to control the quantity when using. The ideas here were from birds and hourglass.

However, the results turned out that it had no breakthrough.

Shift the balance point through the orbit to make sure the level of sauce will always close to the rim of the container. That will be easier and quicker to pour out the sauce every time.

Salt and Pepper container: For dry flavor like pepper or salt.

The flavor can be filled from the side and balance ball will be used as a plug. It attaches with high-quality silicon loop for a good airproof function to prevent condiment from hardening.

VISUALIZING COMPLEXITY- POWER EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN/ PHOTOGRAPHY Individual work / 2016 This is a project aims to visualize the social issue with the topic of POWER. Expectation is a power to modify one’s behavior and attitudean.It is an invisible mold shaping us. When we manage to fit in those expectations, we squeeze, we endure, and we try to conquer. Emotions such as depression, sorrow and hopelessness followed by the feeling of underpressure.

VISUALIZING COMPLEXITY /EXHIBITION This is an experimental design by using the metophor of molding as the main concept.

As a noun, mold means the bacteria or the fungus that appears when the thing get roasted; as a verb, mold represents a situation of being shaped. I explored the power of expectation through the idea of both meanings.

Bread as a person; container as expectation; and fungus represents the feelings of under pressure.

LEGISLATION BORDER INTERVENTION Team work/ 2017 This is a project which specified in outdoor table research, displayed in a format of exhibition as an alternitive of intervention. Gothenburg has a law for outdoor alcohol drinking, which people are not allowed to drink alcohol outside the fences if you buy a drink from restaurant and bar. Meanwhile, restaurant and bar have relatively responsible for the outdoor dining space, for example, the space should not take away the side walk; glass border should not higher than 140cm etc. We realize that it is difficult to move around since the space inside the barrier is limited.

The research resulted in a space intervention and four booklets with documentation with posters on the back side. We invited people to join our display, with barriers in square where people can move around but still being closed in the fences to get an alcohol drink.

LEGISLATION BORDER /PROCESS

The research started with the outdoor table outside a bar. As from the interview with gaurd at bar and the manager in city development from government, we realized that a problemsolving idea is not able to suceed, but with sarcastic way to point out limited space for out door alcohol drinking definitely put the fact on the table.

Before the final decision had made, several concepts had been presented to our stakeholders- government and bar worker. They gave us feedback on every ideas based on their knowledge of what is possible to continue. Interviews and feedbacks as well as on-site research and literal resarch include the history and references are showned in the booklet. During the exhibition, four booklets with different content were displayed in the center, together with alcohol and food, people should go through all the sqaures to reach the center.
