Finance & funding With no upfront fees to pay, funding your university-level study is easier than you may realise.

There are a number of options available including student loans, bursaries and a learning support grant.

University-level fees The fees you pay will depend on several factors, including where you choose to study, the level of your course, and whether you are studying full-time or part-time.

For the most up-to-date fee information, check the detailed course information page on your selected college’s website.

Student loans UK students can apply for Government student loans to cover tuition fees and help with living costs while studying.

These loans are normally available to students with settled status in the UK but eligibility needs to be checked with Student Finance England.

You will only start repaying your loan once you are earning above a certain income threshold. When this happens, repayments are taken automatically from your salary through the income tax system.

Foundation Diploma in Art & Design fees If you are under 19 on 31 August in the year your course starts, you will not pay any fees for the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design.

If you are 19 or over, you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees. You will repay this gradually, but only if your income is above a set threshold. These fee arrangements are subject to eligibility for non-UK students. Apply online at gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan

Lifelong Learning Entitlement The LLE is a new student finance system in England, launching in 2026/27, designed to make education more flexible and accessible. It will provide eligible adults with a loan equivalent to four years of post-18 study (around £38,000), which can be used for full courses or individual modules at Levels 4 to 6, including degrees and technical qualifications.

What is Disabled Students’ Allowance?

If you meet the criteria to be awarded Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) the support awarded could include specialist equipment, assistive software and tech equipment, assistive tech training 1:1 Study Skills Tutor Support and/or 1:1 Specialist Mentor Support, alongside Facilitator campus support.

FAQs: Who qualifies for the Progression Promise Guarantee?

You must be a Level 3 student at one of the seven colleges within the Chichester College Group and be on track to complete a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification.

Can I progress to a university-level course within the group?

Absolutely. Our Progression Promise Guarantee is open to students studying across all campuses and we welcome applications from students at any of our colleges for any university-level course offered at CCG. What if I want to apply to another higher education provider as well as for a university-level course at CCG? You are encouraged to submit your application through UCAS. However, if you apply to another institution through UCAS, you will not be eligible for the benefits of the Progression Promise Guarantee.

How do I apply for the Progression Promise?

If you are only applying for a universitylevel course at CCG, you can apply direct using the online application available on each course page.

Access to Higher Education If you want to do a degree but you don’t have the relevant qualifications or experience, an Access to Higher Education Diploma can get you degree-ready in just one year.

All Access courses have an emphasis on developing key study skills and you will follow an academic development programme. Your course leader will work with you to track your progress and help you develop study strategies. You will be supported with your degree application by our Access to Higher Education team throughout your application process, whether you wish to continue studying for a degree with us or at another institution.

Pre degree GCSEs

A-Level, T Level, BTEC or Diploma: 2 years or Access to Higher Education: 1 year A one-year course designed to prepare adults to study at university-level who do not have the formal qualifications required.

Undergraduate (Year 1) HNC – Higher National Certificate: 1 year A vocational qualification, equivalent to the first year of a degree. Highly regarded by employers and can lead straight into employment or further study.

Undergraduate (Year 2) HND – Higher National Diploma: 2 years A vocational qualification, equivalent to the second year of a degree. HNC/HND Flex units Our Higher Education courses are designed to offer flexibility and choice across our colleges.

Many of our courses are structured to allow you to begin with a one-year Higher National Certificate (HNC), which can be studied as a stand alone qualification or built upon to achieve a full Higher National Diploma (HND) over two years.

This means you don’t need to commit to a longer programme from the outset and can progress at a pace that suits your goals.

In some subject areas, courses may also be delivered in a modular format, giving you the opportunity to study individual units and develop specific skills over time.

This flexible approach allows you to tailor your learning experience around your ambitions, career development, and existing commitments.
