12 Traditional hand- Tenon joint chair Making a chair use the Chinese traditional way Project Year : 2007~2008 The tenon joint is the use of several structures to hold tightly each other, without any nails and glue to make a strong skeleton of chair. Nowadays, there are few people still use the handtenon that Chinese traditional crafts to make chairs. These Chinese traditional crafts have almost lost in this technologic society. The department opened a class called “Furniture Practice� to let the students who are in the Interior Design Department to learn the essence from our ancient culture.
