Begin with a drive along the scenic Siem Reap River to visit an ancient Wat Bo, one of the oldest pagodas in Siem Reap and has a number of well-preserved wall paintings from the 19th century. Then continue to set sail on Tonle Sap Lake (Great Lake) to observe local life as it unfolds along the floating and stilted houses village of Chong Khneas that dots the shoreline. Tonle Sap Lake is one of the area’s unique geographical wonders, as it offers visitors insights into the centuries-old traditions of riparian life and the natural splendor of the country. The rich and varied plant, fish and bird life here makes this, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, vital to Cambodia and the region.
