Situated near the Silk Board junction which is currently undergoing development with a new flyover and metro station. The site, located between the Silk Board staff quarters and beneath the upcoming flyover, underwent a thorough study to comprehend its different aspects.

The design solution aims to address the needs of current users and incorporate new functions that were previously missing.

The blend of cultural history and modern professional life makes this area a unique and vibrant community.

The project, situated adjacent to Hebbal Lake with a rich history, drew inspiration for its circulation concept from the people of Bengaluru and the city’s diverse ethnicities. The choice of materials was influenced by case studies on museums conducted by Tadao Ando.

CONCEPT DERIVATION

The criss cross lines represent the roads converging and people from various background coming together in bengaluru

The zones were identifed and the setbacks were offset

The criss cross lines were then offset to 2.5 m on either side to obtain gallery spaces

The gallery space was then pulled above to create double height spaces in the ground floor
