A Rigorous, Classical Education at an Affordable Price OUR HISTORY The creation of a grass-roots movement of parents, Chesterton Academy offers an integrated college preparatory curriculum taught through the lens of the Catholic faith, available to all Catholic families regardless to income. Launched in the fall of 2008 with just 10 students, the school now enrolls 145 students. OUR PURPOSE We aim to form young Catholic leaders in intellect, spirit, and character, preparing them for college and for life. We graduate mature young men and women who can articulate their beliefs, successfully interact with their future professors and employers with an emphasis on problem solving and faith formation. OUR STEWARDSHIP We believe all Catholic families, regardless of income, should have the opportunity for a Catholic education. Many of our families cannot afford even half the cost of a Chesterton education. How can we do it? We don’t waste a dime, keeping tuition among lowest in the Twin Cities. We ask a lot of our families as volunteers and fundraisers. Through our family-based
fundraising efforts, of which the Chesterton Gala is a huge part, we hope to raise more than $400,000 tonight. Donors like you are helping to make Catholic education available to all. Please continue to pray for us, visit our campus, and meet our students. Chesterton Academy offers a rigorous, integrated, Catholic high school education centered on the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Focusing on the classics, the school develops complete thinkers who learn to draw on faith and reason for the purpose of building a culture of life.
Chesterton Academy is named for the Englishman G.K. Chesterton (18741936), who was considered one of the world’s most outstanding men of letters in the early 20th century. He was an accomplished essayist, novelist, and poet, who wrote a hundred books on all different subjects. In 1922, he shocked the literary establishment by converting to Catholicism. He was later eulogized by Pope Pius XI as “a gifted defender of the faith,” and there is presently a popular movement to have him canonized.
