A good nest is vitally important to hedgehogs. This allows them to succesfully make it through their hibernation. A nest is often made under a pile of logs, in a compost heap or a pile of leaves. However a lot of the time our neatly organised landscape doesn’t provide the hedgehog with a place to build a nest. Place the hedgehog house on a somewhat dry surface in a sheltered and quiet spot in the garden. Scatter some loose leaves in the house. The opening should remain free and preferably not be pointed towards the north or northeast.

This method of waste processing is an ongoing process. The worms double every three months. So there are always enough worms to turn the waste into compost.
HARVESTING THE COMPOST
Is the bin full? Place a new bin on top of the full one. The worms will crawl towards the new waste and eventually the bottom bin will become worm-free. The compost from this bin can then be used for the garden.
SUSTAINABLE WASTE DISPOSAL
The worms produce moisture as well as compost. The bottom container collects this moisture. Mix it 50/50 with water and you have perfect nutrition for your plants!

Waxed canvas is one of the oldest fabrics in the world. The origin of waxing fabrics started in the 15th century when oil and grease were used to make the tarpaulin waterproof and windproof.
This water-repellent canvas was used to produce clothes that were worn by sailors and fishermen. It became extremely popular due to its durability and strength.
Nowadays, waxed canvas is still used for bags, backpacks, tents and outdoor clothing, such as the famous wax coats. Waxed canvas is therefore ideally suited for gardening and will last for years. Like highquality leather, waxed canvas develops a beautiful patina over time.
