Biontology and the Chenot method are two sides of the same coin: the one stems from the other. The etymology of the term, which was coined by Henri Chenot, is “the study of the essence of life and of its evolution�.

Being in good health means living in harmony: body, mind and soul must transmit a sense of deep peace, a state of happiness.

When, for reasons that depend greatly on our lifestyle, this harmony breaks down or is lacking, with the passage of time damage builds up and causes a visible deterioration in our psychophysical health, sometimes severe. The result is accelerated biological aging.

Biontology is a tailored science. It recognizes that every person has different needs at different times, and it attempts to analyze the biological changes that occur in body and mind with the passage of time. Comparing notes with others like me is the choice I love the most It is said that a man’s destiny is written in the stars. Henri Chenot’s destiny was written in the pages of the books he bought as a teenager: one was by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and the other by Chateaubriand. And to think that he grew up in a family where reading was considered a waste of time!

Of Catalan origin, but French by adoption, Chenot has always loved philosophy because the pleasure of knowledge attracted and invigorated him more than anything else.

He studied biology at the Sorbonne Research Center for Marine Biology in Banyuls-sur-Mer, France, majoring in humanistic sciences, psychology and traditional Chinese medicine, which he continued to study for 10 years.

A true trailblazer, in the early 1970s Henri Chenot created the first phytocosmetic and phytotherapeutic treatments in dedicated laboratories, demonstrating the value of new approaches to thalassotherapy which he then shared with other scientists.

His work traveled with him throughout Europe. President and founder of the Phytocosmetic Association, he has spoken at many important conferences where he emphasizes the importance of prevention through a new lifestyle: a balanced diet, healthy daily habits, and the use of pure, natural essential oils. And Henri’s thirst for knowledge continues: he has obtained a master’s degree and a PhD in psychology, and obtained a doctorate honoris causa in Human Sciences from the University of Kensington.

In 1974, Henri Chenot saw the need for a structured facility where he could put his philosophy into practice, and he opened the first Espace Henri Chenot at the Cannes Polyclinic.

But it was only in the 1980s that the dream was truly here to stay, when the Espace Henri Chenot was opened in Merano, in Italy’s Trentino-South Tyrol region. It is an essential symbol of renewal for people who want to get back into shape and rediscover well-being.

In 1999 Henri Chenot developed biontology, a new concept and a unique method for approaching all that revolves around the aging process.

In 2004 Henri Chenot founded the Academy of Biontology.

The march towards knowledge has never stopped.

Once upon a time… fairy tales have a grain of truth to them.

This is how Henri Chenot describes meeting the person who would become his life companion: “I met my wife at a time when I needed to love. I found a woman who had sensibility, with whom I felt in harmony, and who in turn also needed to love.” And so a match of “amorous senses” was made, which also bore fruits in the professional sphere.

Dominique is co-founder of the Chenot Group. A lover of beauty, she obtained her degree in aesthetics in 1980. Dominique’s insight is that healthy cooking should be appetizing, rich in taste and flavor. The senses are sated: the sense of sight is gratified by the beauty of the dish served, the sense of taste is enchanted by the harmony of flavors, and well-being is guaranteed by the excellent quality and by the method of preparing the ingredients.

Dominique works with nutritionists and internationallyrenowned chefs to create menus and recipes that become an integral part of the Chenot Method. A scholar and passionate about energetic diet, she was involved in setting up the Department of Dietetic Biontology at the Merano Center.

She is currently head of supervision and quality control of all the Chenot centers
