How Severe Pain can be treated by Hydrocodone?
Hydrocodone is a drug prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain. It belongs to a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics. Like other opioids, Hydrocodone works by binding to pain receptors in the brain. As Hydrocodone binds to these pain receptors, it weakens the pain signals or blocks them entirely. Dosage and Administration The doctor prescribes the dosage of hydrocodone tablet to take once every 12 hours. The medicine is taken once per day. Make sure you take medicine at around the same time every day. To start the treatment with a low dose and gradually increase the dose if required. Take the medication with water and as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow each capsule or tablet immediately as you put it in your mouth.
