The Sixth Form at CHS is a new beginning. Greater independence and personal responsibility, a more flexible timetable and a growing focus on life beyond CHS. As students they move on from being children to becoming young adults. They bring their energy, leadership and creativity with them and make their mark on the School’s legacy.

The Sixth Form is a tremendously exciting time of deepening intellectual curiosity, learning to work more independently and rising to the challenge of leadership. CHS’s Sixth Form Pathways offer numerous opportunities to develop skills for life - whatever the future may hold.

Independent Learning.

Academic rigour is at the heart of the Sixth Form. Students are encouraged to explore their interests through extension classes and in-depth projects such as the UCAS-recognised Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), alongside their core academic subjects.
Smaller classes enable our Sixth Form students to engage wholeheartedly with academic study and allow Form Tutors to know them as individuals, providing tailored advice regarding university choices and life after CHS.

“My time at CHS was brilliant. From the very beginning, you are presented with so many opportunities to do so much more than just academics. Whatever you are interested in, you can pursue it at CHS. I’m so grateful for the friends that I made, the teachers who taught me and the school community which continues to welcome back Old Waconians’’
Oscar Cooper, Class of 2021

Making Their Way In The World.

At CHS we challenge students to discover more about themselves, others and the world around them. Those in CHS’s Sixth Form are encouraged to be explorers, leaders and philanthropists. Making Their Mark.
Sixth Form students at CHS take on leadership roles to help develop and support younger students. They are encouraged to develop their skills and show their commitment to becoming socially responsible young adults by undertaking charitable work and volunteering in the wider community.
Representing the School at the highest level, they develop as senior student leaders, captains, mentors, or Heads of House, bringing out the best in the individual and encouraging them to use their skills to improve their local and global communities.
