The Infant & Junior School at CHS is a wonderfully encouraging place for children to learn, develop, make lasting friendships and form happy memories.

Through the Infant and Junior House system, pupils are rewarded for their successes or positive behaviours and take leadership responsibilities very seriously in their roles as House Captains or School Councillors.

“I am so pleased Kanisha settled into life at CHS so quickly. She has made some amazing friends and looks forward going to school each day”

A Deeply Caring Ethos.

Parents often ask, “What is special about CHS?” The answer is the quality of relationships between pupils and teachers plus consistently high standards of teaching across all ages and subjects.

This is particularly important in the 4-11 age group, where CHS works in loco parentis. Our high teacher to pupil ratio ensures staff get to know each child exceptionally well and can offer outstanding pastoral care.

“The CHS experience has certainly lived up to our initial impressions. Our son has transformed from being slightly shy into a happy, confident resilient character completely at ease with his school environment”

Specialist subject teaching, educational visits and opportunities for enrichment create enthusiastic, capable and confident young people who can achieve. Residential trips from an early age provide a sense of independence and extended learning opportunities.

Bursting with Creative Energy.

With an array of co-curricular activities offered each term, our Infants and Juniors have fun discovering new interests and pursuing their passions as part of their active Waconian lifestyles.

Regular sporting fixtures against other schools encourage participation and establish a competitive sporting interest. Pupils interested in The Arts enjoy an abundance of opportunities to participate in music and drama.
