Strong background in both Graphic and Interior Design, having taking multiple classes in both. Has created multiple logos and graphics for others, and won first place at the National level in FCCLA’s interior design competition. Has spent the last two summers interning at Vanguard Studio learning about the practical and buisiness sides of architecture and the processes and programs utilized. Seeking to continue growing as an Architect and Designer at the University of Texas at Austin.

cultural center & environmental research facility hybrid
Located in south Boston, Submerged is a unique combination of a cultural center and environmental research facility that educates the public on and researches climate change. Boston is directly effected by this, with water levels rising every year threatening to flood the city in around 50 years. The building outwardly expresses and brings awareness to this threat with forms appearing to sink in the water that encapsulates the entire site. The project also includes a large green space at it’s core to provide a place for people to gather and relax, with walkways that wind between buildings, prompting exploration and a cohesive experience where site and building blend together.

microhome community
Me and two other Architecture students from my class partnered to submit a proposal for the website Buildner’s microhome contest, which had entries from all over the world. We worked together to create the concept, and traded off work on drawings. The sketches are drawn by me, and I did the majority of work on the site axonometric drawing. Our proposal uses the inherit power of the circle to draw people around a common singular point to form a community. The homes are constructed from modified shipping containers, with views from the top that highlight the beauty of the Chihuahuan Desert.

library park
Translating to the “Buried Library”, this unique aproach seeks to combine the typologies of a library and a public park to create a new way for people to experience Seville. 3 masses of ascending size and depth are punctured through the site, and have voids extending from them, exposing the buried library below. These voids, alongside custom skylight benches, bring light to all sides of the library beneath. Forested areas on the lowered outskirts of the park create personal spaces and a porous boundary as the park ascends into the middle clearing, and views of the towering masses reveal themselves.

The Grotto is an abnormal project, being closer to an outdoor structure rather than a tradtional building. It utilizes a concrete rib-like structure as a skeleton that other parts such as pools and sloped floors rest on and dance between. Said sloped floors create an more organic vertical circulation and poolside area to inhabit akin to a natural body of water. The core of the project is the titular “grotto”, the area at the bottom where the project meets Shoal creek. The grotto includes a custom built path drawn from the natural topo, and connects in multiple areas with the preexisting sidewalks and trails of downtown Austin to make a place people can organically experience.

Slice of the Sun seeks to exemplify the natural light of the sun in a part of Earth with both never ending days and endless nights. Explorations begun with a systematic study of Palazzo Chiericati by Andrea Palladio, where core aspects and ways of structuring where taken and reformed into a first iteration of an observatory in Lubbock, TX. These aspects were then again morphed and shifted to fit the extreme topography and solar range of arctic Svalbard, Norway. Especially vital to the project is the “split”, a large rectangular void that cuts through the project and even the mountain itself, creating transcendent moments of light at certain parts of the day.
studio 7 - fall 2023 (phase 1) - study abroad - solo seville, spain (alameda de hercules) temporary pavillion
Geyron is a three headed giant of greek mythology who lived at the end of the world (modern day Spain), and possesed a herd of red cattle that Hercules had to steal as part of his labours. Hercules soon after founded Seville, thus the naming of the site. I loosely interprated the essence of this myth, with a cluster of 3 forms that are interupted by another more agressive form, similiar to Hercule’s weapon piercing Geyron. As an urban project, it seeks to reinterpret the circulation through the plaza, providing shade and purpose in the awkard and empty middle space, and connecting to multiple parrelel paths that beforehand never interacted.

I was reached out to by a friend pursuing filmaking for help to design the main set for a movie he was making set in space. He showed me an initial sketch he had and shared his vision, and from their I used a combination of hand sketching, computer drafting, and modeling to provide him with the dimensions he needed to construct it himself. I was involved with a small amount of detailing and construction, but it was mostly built by him. The design is primarily driven by using depth to define small pockets of space for crew members to inhabit their roles, with space towards the middle for movement and other social interactions.
internship - summers 2022 & 2023 vanguard studio- austin, tx community center, casita, backyard structures
During my summers interning at Vanguard Studio I worked on 3 major projects, one of which has been completed, and others which are in the works. Most of the work was done in Revit, using Enscape for renders. Rhino was used on my first project as I was still learning Revit. Schematic design was done by hand utilizing tracing paper, scales, and pens of multiple lineweights. I worked on the projects from their beginning to various points in the process, visited the sites, met with clients and builders, and worked alongside multiple architects in the firm. Through this I got a cohesive view of the projects from multiple angles, and learned how a design goes from an idea to reality.
