Welcome to the November issue of Senior Spectrum Newspaper. November is a busy time for most of us as this is the start of Open Enrollment for both Medicare and Medicare Advantage Health Plans, but also for health plans on the state-based Nevada Health Exchange for those under 65.
Open Enrollment runs from October 15 through December 9th for Medicare plans. Open Enrollment for Obama Care or the Affordable Care Act on Nevada Health Link runs November 1 through December 15th.
If you are already enrolled in a plan and like what you have, you do not have to enroll in your plan, just continue payment. However if you want to change or are enrolling for the first time in a health plan, you will have to log on the Internet or work with a counselor if you need assistance. You can get assistance enrolling in Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan by contacting Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 or contacting the local Medicare Advantage Plan.
