AUTHENTICALLY CANADIAN
The company needed a label for companies to use on their products to proudly verify that their products were fully made in Canada. The program is sponsored by the Government of Canada to encourage consumers to purchase local goods over imported ones. It’s a simple sticker or online label that any business can start adding to their products if they pass our verification inquiries. They needed a simple mark that reads “Authentically Canadian – From Sea to Sea”. It need to feature a prominent Canadian icon such as the red maple leaf. The logo was to be on their products as a sticker, a small label on a website footer, or on shipping boxes provided by Canada Post
How does a Spanish olive oil company break into a crowded US market and stand out? Oro differentiates itself based on the quality and their traditon of olive oil making and the logo and branding need to reflect this. Only about 10% of olive oil produced in the world is able to meet the standard of extra virgin. Oro olive oil is made from premium olives grown in an area known for production of world class olive oil, Spain. They are sourced from a family owned and operated olive vineyards. Oro olive oil has a smooth, nutty taste. In ancient times olive oil was considered very precious. Homer describe it as “liquid gold.”
The olive oil is available in 3 flavors that feature illustrations of flamenco dancers done by local Spanish artists.
The logo needed to reflect the premium quality olive oil produced using old age traditions with nod to modern sensibilities. The logo has a modern feel but each bottle gives a nod to Spanish traditon with varied illustrations of flamenco dancers.
The target market for Oro olive oil is the discerning consumer who doesn’t mind paying extra for premium olive oil.
Whiskymash is a finely distilled aged Scotch whisky. Whiskmash is targeted to a age group between 2340. To ensure longevity the manufacturers have decided to focus on a younger demographics who are becoming more attracted to whiskey would give them staying power in the market.
It was decided that the focus on the logo should be on the main ingredient in the product wheat. The logo needed to reflect the kind of audience they wish to attract - the young and hip.
The husband and wife team behind Coffee Guild wanted to provide a safe and warm environment for those seeking a place to work and meet together for business or for conversation. The Coffee Guild came from the idea of catering to freelancers. The company loved the idea of using "guild" in the name as reference to an associate of craftsmen (in their case a guild offreelancers). They wanted to create a coffee house that brought freelancers, and those who work at home together in a warm environment. They also wanted to cater to the casual crowd. They wanted their business to have a local feeling and flavor unlike some international coffee chains.
They source their coffee from high quality organic sources and grind in house to enable them to make coffee beverages, products that exceed most other coffee houses. Coffee Guild grinds and roasts their coffee in-house using single origin coffee beans.
Target Market:
Their main customers are freelancers needing a place to work and meet. Their target audience is the younger crowd, perhaps 18-39. Their customer base are those who like to “stay awhile” to chat and work.

The company needed a brochure as a leave behind for their partners and supporters that would impact community engagement in a positive way.

BK Fashion Weekend{end}
Fashion Week{end} now know as Fashion Week
is a biannual international collection show founded by the 501c3 non-profit BK|Style Foundation (BK|SF). It has emerged as one of the leading fashion events showcasing the talent of aspiring and established designers from across the globe. They were named as the number 5 international fashion event in 2016.
Attendees include a diverse spectrum of socially conscious, influencers, fashion-forward and creative people nationally and internationally. BK|SF lends a voice to social issues including human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, sustainability initiatives, poverty, community development, and leadership training.
They needed a open bar invite (immediate left), a flyer (far left) and media kit to market their event.
Is there any happier occasion than the birth of a healthy baby? William Morgan and his wife needed an announcement card for family and friends to introduce them to their new bundle of joy.
Charmian illustrated and designed my logo and business card.
I consider Charmian a top notch graphic designer. She stays current on the trends, issues and topics involved in creating good designs. Charmian is very intuitive and knows what I want even when I am unable to communicate it properly. She responds to my needs and requests quickly and professionally.
I feel that have the best person looking out for me. She is simply the best gal to work with.
We hired Charmian to help us with various graphic design and web design/maintenance projects. She was able to quickly learn our proprietary content management system and follow through with our often chaotic and last minute requests. It was a pleasure to work with her.
