CAS students celebrate Matariki

Matariki was celebrated at Collingwood Area School on a beautiful sunny day last Friday, with a full day of activities, friendship, and food. During the morning, students were engaged in a wide range of cultural learning including weaving, art, cooking, navigation, kite-making, and creating flax flowers, followed by a feast shared with families and staff. Visitors were able to see progress on the new build, hear students singing waiata, and enjoy time together over a meal served by a team of students, parents, and teachers. A good day of connection, honouring family members who have died, and celebrating the school whānau.
