Senior Varsity Volleyball Team captain Rachel Mackey was the first Latin Hawk this school year to sign a National Letter of Intent to play a college sport. Mackey, who was honored at a recognition ceremony hosted by the College Center on November 12 in the Forum, signed her NLI to play women’s volleyball at Anderson University in South Carolina.

Mackey came to Charlotte Latin as a sophomore and is a three-year starter at outside hitter. Mackey is the team’s Most Valuable Player, has earned the team’s Warrior Award for two consecutive years, and is First Team All-Conference this year. She has played national level club volleyball for Carolina Juniors Volleyball for five years and is on the National 18U team.
