Fabric Combinations Summer 2025

Page 1

A note from Charlotte Gaisford....

I have tried to make it as easy as possible to combine my fabrics together to make some really successful schemes for your home.

Look through this booklet and choose a hero fabric, you can see this as the largest image on the page. Next you will see three choices of fabrics that will combine with the hero fabric. We have shown these as a headboard and a cushion. You could use the fabrics as just cushions or you could use them on other upholstery, bedding etc. The scheme you choose will have three patterned fabrics in total and you can mix these further with plain fabrics which help to rest the eye from the patterns but they also help the patterns POP in the scheme.

I have tried to make these schemes simple to understand and hopefully they are not overwhelming. You could cut up the pages and move them around so you can get a better idea of how they will work together.

I haven’t picked out paint colours because there are so many to choose from. The paint colour should be the last thing that you choose for your room scheme. You can make it easy and colour drench the whole room in one colour, paint the ceiling a different colour, avoid a white ceiling because this casts a horrible hue over everything.

Here are a few places to look for some extra items for your scheme

Plain fabrics- Romo- Lanara range

Trimmings- Samuel and sons, Troynorth, Thaibut, Colefax and Fowler

I really hope you find these schemes easy to use and you enjoy using them. Think of them as a starting point for your room. You can use them for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen, hallways etc.

Thank you and I would love to hear your feedback

How to find the fabrics on the website or in the main brochure

1. visit the website and type the name of the fabric into the search 2. Use the index at the beginning of the main brochure to find the fabric page

Plain fabrics, paint and trimmings

Charlotte Gaisford does not sell plain fabrics but there are lots of other companies which have lovely ranges. For these schemes we have used ROMO, Lanara collection. There are lots of colours to choose from and you can get samples from their website.

We don’t sell paint and you can find lots of colour charts online and buy sample pots. Its a good idea to paint onto a piece of paper or plain lining paper so you can move it around the room. This is better than painting lots of samples directly onto the wall. It is important to move your sample around the room as the light changes in the day.

There are lots of companies you can buy trimmings from, some of them you need to have a trade account to buy but your curtain maker may have an account. You should be able to get samples without having a trade account.

Further help

Please contact Charlotte if you have any questions with these schemes or you would like further help. As we have mentioned before it is difficult to give advice on a paint colour for your room because it depends on how the room faces and your taste. Charlotte would be very happy to give you a second opinion and other suggestions. She is always very happy to recieve emails from customers trying to put things together using her fabrics. We are hoping to be launching a wallpaper and fabrics combination booklet very soon. If you need help with combining wallpaper do send Charlotte an email or you can look under the inspiration tab on the website to see ‘what goes with what’ wallpaper ideas.
